Treuil.
Winch. The present invention relates to a winch intended to be used in particular as a hauling winch, for example for wa gons or boats.
As is known to those skilled in the art, it is of all importance for proper unwinding and winding of the line on the winch drum that this line is always stretched close to the drum.
The object of the invention is precisely a winch making it possible to satisfy this condition. This winch differs from winches of known construction by the fact that it comprises a rope tensioning device winding on its drum, having at least one main roller in contact with which the rope is held by at least one pressure roller, a mechanism being provided to drive this main ga let at a peripheral speed which, considering the drive without slipping of the mechanism relative to the main roller, would be greater than the speed of the rope during its unwinding, means being provided for braking the free end of the rope when it is wound on the drum.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the winch which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial plan view. Fig. 2 is a sectional view along 1I-11 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a side view on a larger scale than the previous ones of a positive tensioner alone. Fig. 4 is a cut according to. IV-IV of fig. 3.
The winch represents a drum 1 mounted on a frame 2, provided with wheels 3 making it capable of being moved in the axial direction of the drum 1 on rails 4. This drum 1 is intended to be driven in rotation by an electric motor 5 by means of a coupling device 6 and a reduction gear 7. A brake 8 is provided to allow the blocking of the drum 1.
This winch further comprises a tensioning device 9 for the rope 10 winding on the drum 1.
This tensioning device 9 (see fig. 4) has a main roller 11 in contact with which the rope 10 is held by a pressure roller 12.
The winch comprises, on the other hand, a screw 13, intended to be driven in rotation, in synchronism with the drum 1, and along an axis parallel to the axis of the drum 1, by a chain 14 passing over a toothed wheel 15 integral with the drum 1, a toothed wheel 16 integral with the screw 13 and a tension wheel 17 whose axis can be fixed in different positions in a groove 18 of the winch frame.
The tensioning device comprises a part forming a nut 19 and in engagement with the screw 13 to allow to cause a relative displacement between the drum and the tensioning device, this displacement being determined so as to correspond to the axial displacement with respect to the drum of the strand. free from the rope, when winding or unwinding.
In the embodiment shown, the tensioning device 9 is fixed laterally by two flanges 20 to a base plate 21 connected to a rigid reinforcement 22. As a result, any rotation of the screw 13 causes a displacement on the rails 4 , either in one direction or in the other, of the frame 2 carrying the drum and its driving components, this thanks to the wheels 3.
On the nut 19 is mounted, so as to be able to rotate, a hollow shaft 23 carrying the main roller 11. A friction coupling device 24 makes it possible to make the roller 11 integral in rotation with the hollow shaft. 23. This device 24 comprises two friction discs 25 hand held tight against the side faces of the ga let 11 between a shoulder 26 of the hollow shaft and a ring 27 pushed by spells 28 bearing on a nut 29 screwed on a threaded part of the hollow shaft 2: 3. One of the friction discs 25 is made integral with the shoulder 26 by screws 52, while the other is made integral with the ring 27 also by screws 52.
A screw 30 is provided radially in the nut 29 to block the latter relative to the hollow shaft when the adjustment of the coupling device has been carried out.
A sleeve 31 is disposed coaxially around the screw 13. This sleeve has a projection 32 engaged in a longitudinal longitudinal groove 33 of the screw 13. As a result, this sleeve 31 is integral in rotation with the. screw 13 while being axially secured to the nut 19. This sleeve 31 is intended to drag the hollow shaft 23 carrying the roller 11 in rotation by means of a drive device 34 in one direction. of rotation.
In the embodiment shown, this device is of the type with wedging rollers 35. This device 34 is intended to drag the roller 11 only during the unwinding of the rope 10. In addition, the ratios of the diameters between the wheels toothed 15 and 16 and between the drum 1 and the roller 11 are such (read the hollow shaft is driven by the screw 13 at an angular speed greater than the angular speed at which the roller 11 would be driven if it was not was only driven in rotation by the passage of the rope 10. The friction coupling device 24 is intended precisely to absorb this difference in angular speed between the roller 11 and the hollow shaft 23.
The springs 28 are charged so that there is never any slip between the rope 10 and the roller 11, but only between the latter and the hollow shaft 23.
The pressure roller 12 is carried by a shaft 36 capable of pivoting at its ends in two levers 37 and 38 articulated at one of their ends to the casing 39 of the tensioning device while their other end is articulated at 40 to another tensioning device 41, comprising a tie rod 42 attached to a lug 43 integral with the housing 39. On this tie rod 42 is threaded a spring 44 bearing, on the one hand, on a head 45 provided at the lower end of the pulling 42 and, on the other hand, against a plug 46 fixed to the end of a tube 47 in which the res out 44 is housed.
Nuts 48 are provided to allow adjustment of the pressure of roller 12 against roller 11.
In the tensioning device described, (the means are provided for braking the free end of the rope 10 during the winding of the latter on the drum 1. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, these means are constituted by the pressure roller 12 which is capable of rotating freely during the unwinding of the rope, but the rotation of which is braked when the rope is wound on the drum.
In fact, the pressure roller 12 is made integral in rotation with the shaft 36 by means of a friction device 49 of the same type as the friction coupling device 24. This device 49 also comprises discs of friction 50, one of which is made integral with a shoulder 51 of the abre 36 by screws 52 while the antral is made integral with a ring 53 by the same screws 52. These discs 50 are held against the faces side of the roller 12 by res sorts 55 bearing, on the one hand, on a nut 56 screwed on a threaded portion 57 of the shaft 36 and, on the other hand, on the ring 53. the screw 54 is provided to block the screen 56 on the shaft 36 when the friction force has been adjusted.
In addition, a device 58 with drive in only one direction of rotation, of the same type as the device 34, is arranged between the shaft 3 3 6 and the lever 38. This device 58 which is of the The wedging roller type 59 is provided to let the shaft 36 rotate freely when unwinding the rope 1.0 and to lock the shaft 36 relative to the lever 38 when winding the rope.
Thus, during the winding of the rope, the roller 12 is driven in rotation by the rope itself, but this rotational movement is slowed down by the friction device 49, which keeps the rope stretched between the drum 1 and the tensioning device 9.
To avoid any risk of jamming between the screw 13 and the tensioning device 9, the latter is only guided laterally by the flanges 20. An arm 60 carrying a roller 61 is provided to withstand any torque arising in the tensioning device. . This arm 60 is integral with the casing 39 and the roller 61 is guided between two horizontal plates 62 fixed between the flanges 20. This roller 61 therefore leaves complete freedom to the tensioning device for the small relative movements that may occur between it and its formed support. by the flanges 20 and the plates 21 and 62.
It should also be noted that a transverse guide of the frame 2 in relation. to rails 4, east. planned. This guidance is produced by rails 63 on which the rollers 64 and 65 have a vertical axis. In addition, to prevent any tilting of the frame 2 under the effect of a high tensile force of the drum 1, the rear rollers 65 have a groove 66 in which the rear rail 63 on which they roll is engaged, thus any lifting of the frame 2 above the corresponding rail 4 is prevented by the rear rail 63.
The operation of the winch described is as follows: When the rope is unwound from the drum 1 by driving the latter by the motor 5, the screw 13, which is driven in rotation by the chain 14, moves the frame 2 to the right (referring to fig. 1). The sleeve 31, driven in rotation by the screw 13, causes the drive of the roller 11 by the intermediary of the devices 34 and 24. Like the peripheral speed of the roller 11, considering no sliding in the friction device 24 , is greater than the speed of the line, the latter is kept continuously stretched between the drum 1 and the tensioning device 9.
However, to avoid any wear of the rope, for example a cable, on the roller 11, the friction coupling device 24 is adjusted so as to avoid any slippage between the cable and the roller 11, the sliding taking place only between the hollow shaft 23 and the roller 11 via the discs 25.
During the reverse operation of the winch, that is to say when the rope is wound on the drum 1, the screw 13 controls a movement to the left of the frame 2 (with reference to FIG. 1).
The drive of the sleeve 31 by the screw 13 then has no effect on the hollow shaft 23, because the direction of rotation of the sleeve corresponds to the direction of non-drive of the device 34. Thus, the roller 11 and the roller 12 are driven in the opposite direction by the rope itself. However, this reverse drive of the roller 12 causes the blocking of its shaft 36 relative to the lever 38, thanks to the positive device 58. Therefore, the drive of the presser ga let 12 by the wire is braked by the friction device. 49, which keeps the rope stretched between the drum 1 and the tensioning device 9.
Other embodiments of this winch and of its tensioning device could be provided. All. firstly, instead of the drum being movable relative to the fixed tensioner device, the reverse could very well be provided, that is to say a tensioning device capable for example of sliding in the direction axial drum, under the control of screw 13.
Alternatively, the friction device 49 and the drive device in one direction of rotation 58 could be omitted. The presser roller 12 would then be an ordinary presser roller and the means provided for braking the free end of the line during the rolling of the latter on the drum would be constituted by a friction device intended to slow down the rotational movement of the rope. main roller 11, when the latter is driven by the rope.
This friction device could be constituted by the coupling device 24. In fact, it would suffice for this to interpose between the nut 19 (or any other angularly fixed part of the tensioning device) and the hollow shaft 23. , a drive device in Lin only direction of rotation of the type of device 34, but operating in the opposite direction. Thus, the same roller 11 and the same friction device 24 would be used to tension the rope 10 both during the unwinding of the latter and during its winding on the drum.
In addition, instead of blocking the shaft 36 of the pressure roller 12 during the rolling phase of the rope on the drum, one could very well provide a drag mechanism intended to be coupled to said shaft 36 by the 'intermediary of a device such as device 58, this mechanism then being intended for. drive said shaft 36 at a speed an, iilaire lower than that at which the roller 12 is driven by the rope. The difference in angular speeds between the roller 12 and its shaft 36 would then be absorbed by the friction device 49. Such a drive mechanism for the pressure roller 12 could be controlled by the screw 13.
It would suffice for this to provide for example a ring gear around the sleeve 31, the ring gear engaging with a toothed wheel in connection with the shaft 36 by means of a device such as the device 58.
Such an assembly would allow the sliding between the ga let 12 and the shaft 36 to be brought to the minimum necessary.
In addition, this assembly could also be applied to the variant described above in which the roller 11 and its friction coupling device 24 were used to tension the rope both during unwinding and during winding of the latter. ci on drum 1.
As a further variant, several rollers 11 and several rollers 12 could be provided on the same tensioning device 9, and the drum 1 of the winch instead of being single-wound could be provided for rolling several layers of cable. or other rope.
On the other hand, the tensioning device 9 instead of being placed in the immediate vicinity of the drum 1 could be placed at a certain distance from the latter. If this distance is sufficient, it would even be possible to eliminate the screw 13, the drum and the tensioning device then being fixed with respect to one another; the screw 13 would then be replaced by a shaft driving the sleeve 31.
In other less expensive construction embodiments, but on the other hand more costly from the point of view of use, it would be possible to eliminate any friction device such as devices 24 and 49. Slippage would then occur between the roller 11. and the rope during the unwinding of the latter and between the roller 12 and the rope during its winding on the drum 1.
It is of course further understood that in the first embodiment described the adjustment of the friction devices 24 and 49 could be carried out so that a sliding takes place at the same time between the rope and the roller 11 and between the latter and the hollow shaft 23 during the unwinding of the rope. Likewise, a sliding could take place at the same time between the rope and the roller 12 and between the latter and the shaft 36 during winding. rope.
In addition, the roller or rollers 11 (possibly also the rollers 12) instead of being driven by the screw 13 could be dragged by a mechanism independent of the drum 1, for example by an electric motor connected to the mains. power supply, whenever the drum drive motor itself is supplied with power.
