Heinrich Kihm, Zurich (Switzerland). There are already chairs known, the Ge alternate consists of welded together tubular metal pieces. The frame of these chairs forms a single whole. The refinement, for example nickel plating, chrome plating, anodising of the surface of the steel pipes, can only be carried out after the metal pipe pieces have been welded together, as otherwise the refinement of the surface at and near the weld spots would be destroyed again .
To refine the surface of the chair frames, therefore, very large bathrooms are neces sary, which entails a very considerable increase in price. Furthermore, chairs are already known which do not have a uniform Ge alternate and in which the leg pairs made of metal tube and the struts of the backrest are fastened directly to the seat plate be. In such chairs, the seat plate has to be very strong because it holds the parts of the chair together and has to absorb all forces. Such chairs are therefore relatively heavy. These disadvantages are remedied by the present invention.
The present invention is a chair with a frame which has two metal pipe pieces bent at right angles in the middle, the legs of which are bent at a distance from the Schei tel approximately at right angles from the plane of the angle formed by them, the apex of these metal pipe pieces between two through Connecting means held together clamping plates, which have the apexes of the metal pipe pieces corresponding depressions, are clamped in such a way lying in one plane that the two metal pipe pieces are opposite one another,
that their parts form the apex of a cross lying to the plane of symmetry of the chair, on which a seat plate is attached by means of fastening elements, while the downward bent parts of the metal pipe pieces each a front and a rear leg of the chair form.
The metal pipe pieces forming the frame of such a chair are not welded together, and their surface can therefore be refined, for example nickel-plated, chrome-plated or anodized, before they are assembled. The finishing bath can therefore be significantly smaller than if the frame as a whole has to be brought into the bath, so that the finishing costs are reduced quite considerably. The seat plate does not have to hold the parts of the frame together, but only has the task of transferring the forces to the frame.
The seat plate can therefore be kept thin, which has a positive effect on the weight of the chair.
In the drawing, for example, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown. They show: FIG. 1 a side view of the chair, FIG. 2 a view from the rear, FIG. 3 a view from below and FIG. 4 the possibility of such chairs Pile not in use.
The chair shown has a frame made of three metal tube pieces 1, 2 and 3, bent at right angles in the middle, their legs at a distance from the apex approximately at right angles from the plane of the formed by them deten angle are bent, wherein the apexes of these metal tube sections, e 1, 2 and 3 between two by screws 4 - it could also rivets his - clamp plates 5 and 6, held together, which the apices of the metal pipe pieces 1, 2 and 3 < / B> have corresponding depressions, are clamped and held in one plane.
The vertices of the metal pipe pieces 1 and 2 lie opposite one another in such a way that their parts forming the vertex form a cross inclined to the plane of symmetry of the chair. The bent parts form each a front and a rear leg of the chair. The apex parts of the metal pipe section 3 rest on the rear Seheitel parts of the metal pipe sections 1 and 2 and are connected to these by screws 7 and 8 connected.
The upwardly bent parts of the metal pipe section 3 form the braces for a backrest 11 fastened to them by means of screws 9 or 10 . On the apex parts of the two metal pipe pieces 1 and 2 there is a seat plate by means of screws 12, 130, 14 and 15 16 attached.
The metal pipe pieces 1, 2 and 3 can consist of thin-walled steel pipe or light metal pipe. The seat plate 16 and the backrest 11 can be plywood sheets or made of metal or plastic. The clamping plates 5 and 6 can be pressed pieces made of sheet steel or cast pieces made of light metal.
The seat plate 16 is slightly narrower at the back than at the front. This makes it possible to stack the like chairs at Niehgebraueb, as shown in FIG. In order to prevent the seat plate 16 and the backrest 11 from being scratched when the chairs are stacked on top of one another, the ones on the underside of the legs of the metal tube pieces 1 < / B> and 2 lying heads of screws 12, 13,
14 and 16 as well as the heads of the screws 9 and 10 </ on the back of the legs of the metal pipe section 3 B> appropriately provided with protective caps 17 made of rubber or the like.
