Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach der Linie 111-III der Fig.1.
There are already door closers known wel che can be used for left and right opening doors. However, these door closers must be set up by rearranging various components for the individual case during or before assembly.
The door closer according to the present invention can be used without modification for doors that open to the left and right.
The door closer has a liquid-filled housing, in which a spring-loaded piston is arranged, and is characterized by the fact that an axis connected to the linkage for the movement ring of the door is mounted in the housing and carries a symmetrically designed cam disk, which is in contact with the piston and the rotation of which moves the piston in the housing.
In the accompanying drawings, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, specifically showing: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section through the door closer, FIG. 2 a section along the line II-II of FIG. FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. FIG. 4 shows a detail in section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 2.
In a housing 1, a cylindrical piston 2 is mounted, which is under the action of a compression spring 3 which rests at one end on the piston 2 and at the other end on a cover 4 screwed into the housing 1 Ge. The piston 2 has in its central part a recess 10. In this recess 10, an axis 5 is arranged, rotatably mounted in the housing 1 and sealed by means of a stuffing box 6 to the outside. A linkage lever 7 is attached to the free end of the axle 5 protruding from the housing 1.
A serration 8 is used to adjust the linkage lever, which at the same time secures the linkage lever against rotation.
The piston 2 is shaped in such a way that it can only move in the axial direction, but cannot rotate. Two rollers 11 and one roller 12 are mounted on the piston 2 in such a way that the two rollers 11 are located on one side of the recess and the roller 12 is on the other side of the recess .
A cam disk 9 is fixedly seated on the axis 5. In the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, which corresponds to the closed door position, this Noeken disk rests on all three rollers 11 and 12. When the axis 5 rotates, the cam disc moves away from one of the rollers 11, but remains in constant contact with the other roller 11 and the roller 12 during the rotation.
The space 16 in which the compression spring 3 is arranged is in communication with the recess 10 through a bore 25, and this recess is in communication with the chamber 18 through a valve 17. The lug 18 is also connected to the recess 10 through the bores 19 and 20, the cross section of the bore 20 being able to be influenced by a regulating valve 22 (FIG. 4).
The right-hand part of the piston 2 also has a right-angled bore 23, which connects the recess 10 with the space 18 in a certain position of the piston.
The housing 1 is (Fug. 3) provided with a dovetail fastening part 15, which is guided in a correspondingly shaped ge, to be fastened to the door 13 Mon day plate 14 and can be locked by screws ben. This arrangement allows the mounting plate 14 to be attached to the door 13 prior to the assembly of the door closer, in which case the door closer housing can be guided and fastened during its assembly in the mounting plate 14.
By attaching the linkage and moving the door closer housing in the mounting plate, the function of the door closer can be regulated and adapted to the particular conditions.
The housing 1 and the piston 2 can be made of any material. It has proven advantageous to manufacture the housing and piston from an oil-tight plastic, which has the advantage over the previously customary cast housing and cast piston of being absolutely oil-tight, so that refilling with brake fluid such as brake oil is unnecessary.
The operation of the door closer is as follows When the door is closed, the cam disk 9 and the piston 2 are in the position shown in FIGS. When the door is opened, the axis 5 rotates under the action of the linkage lever 7 in one of the two directions, for example clockwise. The cam disk 9 then presses the entire piston to the left through the lower roller 11.
As a result of the special design of the cam disk shape, it remains in contact with the lower roller 11 and the roller 12 during the entire rotation, in that the roller 12 follows the non-working side of the cam disk, whereby the piston is kept free of play.
When the cam disc rotates, the piston is moved to the left against the action of the spring 3 until the tip of the heart-shaped cam disc has moved past the lower roller 11, and at this moment the spring 3 presses the piston 2 slightly to the right, until the tip of the cam is in the middle between the rollers 11.
In this position, which corresponds to the open door position, the cam disk and thus the door are held in their position, and the door remains open until the spring 3 and the pressure of the spring remove the cam disk from its influence by external influence 3 can close the door again. If the door is not fully opened and the tip of the cam 9 is not moved beyond the lower roller 11, the door will close by itself.
When the door is opened, ie when the piston moves to the left in FIGS. 1 and 2, the brake fluid, which fills the entire housing, is transferred from the spring chamber 16 through the opening 25 into the recess 10 and through the valve 17 into the Room 18 crowded. When the door is closed, the brake fluid flows out of the space 18 first through the bores 19 and 20 into the recess 10 and then into the spring space 16 through the opening 25.
As soon as the piston 2 has reached a certain position, the right-angled bore 23 in the right part of the Kol ben 2 occurs with a recess 26 in the space 18 in Ver connection, and the brake fluid can from this moment on faster from the space 18 in the Recess 21 flow back, and this allows that the spring 3 can exert its full effect on the piston, whereby the door receives the blow required for complete closing in the last part of its closing movement.
By adjusting the valve 22, the inflow of the brake fluid in the bore 20 can be influenced, whereby the closing time of the door can be regulated.
Since the cam disk 9 is formed symmetrically, the door closer can be used both for left and right-hand closing doors without any dismantling or special adjustment of the door closer being necessary. It is only necessary to adapt the linkage to the particular ratios, which can easily be done by converting the linkage lever 7 on the axis 5.
As a result of the low design of the door closer described, it can also be attached to doors that have a narrow frame without parts of the door closer protruding beyond the frame and thus creating an unattractive impression.
