Spielzeugtransformator.
Da schon aus Preisgründen in der Regel eine derart kleine (ileiehriehter:säule vorgesehen wird, da.ss trotz Kurzsehlusssieherheit des Transformator;
Toy transformer. The invention relates to a transformer for toys, especially for toy railways, and aims to keep the risk of fire on the secondary side reliably at bay in a simple manner, that is, to make the transformer short-circuit-proof when overflowing, namely in short circuits.
It is known to provide the necessary short-circuit safety by means of circuit breakers which shut off the transformer at the given moment through electromagnetic or thermal effects. However, this solution is unsatisfactory because it requires a special safety switch, which increases the cost of the electrical device and because the circuit breaker has to be returned to its initial position by hand after it has responded, which is often overlooked.
In addition, it has already been proposed to achieve short-circuit protection by deflecting the magnetic lines of force flowing into the secondary coil, by using a moving member of an overcurrent protective device acting as an armature to divert the magnetic flux or by passing through the between the primary or secondary coil In the event of a short-circuit, electrodynamic forces mix the secondary coil against a correspondingly measured braking force is pushed ver, the distance between the two coils. want to enlarge.
With a greater distance, the magnetic scattering is also increased and the current in the secondary coil is reduced to a permissible level. In both cases, moving parts are required that must be stored and controlled, which thus also make the construction of the transformer cumbersome.
It has now been found that the necessary overcurrent protection can be guaranteed if, according to the present invention, your iron core of the transformer windings is assigned an immovable, load-dependent force line spread causing magnetic level circuit. As such, a magnetic shunt designed as a ring, bracket, web or the like, which completely or partially surrounds the iron core of the transformer, can serve, the distance of which from the iron core is dimensioned so that an increased in the secondary coil. There is a voltage drop, which rules out harmful heating.
Since in the secondary coil when there is no load there is a voltage approximately corresponding to the turns ratio of the primary coil and secondary coil due to the then existing small scatter, but the force line deflection increases with the weight of the load, so by choosing a magnetic auxiliary circuit of suitable dimensions and correct distance from Iron core the voltage prevailing in the secondary coil during a short circuit must be limited to the permissible level.
As a result of the existing magnetic shunt, an automatically increasing voltage drop in the secondary coil occurs in a known manner with increasing load. The power loss resulting from a motor connected to such a transformer can on the one hand easily be accepted in view of the low workload required for toys and on the other hand has the advantage that the motor winding is also protected from thermal overload is protected. It is particularly progressive that the overcurrent protection can be achieved without moving parts through the invention. It is.
It is even possible to avoid a special, fixed magnetic shunt, and to design support parts assigned to the iron core and / or the housing of the transformer as a shunt.
If, according to the invention, the transformer is designed as a tap-off transformer, i.e. as a transformer with a fixed, taps pointing to the secondary coil, it is advisable to use a closed iron core with the primary coil on one leg and the secondary coil on its opposite leg for the supply of consumers is appropriate.
Two secondary windings can be provided, one for the supply of motors, the other for the operation of other consumers, in toy trains for example for the operation of light bulbs, switches and the like; In this case, some of the turns of the second secondary winding are arranged on the same leg as the primary winding, the remaining part: the MV indungen, however, on the same leg as the first secondary coil.
It can thereby be achieved that the voltage of the second secondary winding is not subject to the fluctuation to which the voltage of the first secondary coil is exposed due to the short-circuit safety. The transformer according to the invention. can also be designed as a rotary transformer, in which. the secondary coil emitting a controllable voltage is arranged on the rotating armature. On the free thigh. of the iron core, which is opposite the leg carrying the primary coil, can be accompanied by a second secondary coil. Unregulated voltage must be provided for other consumers.
The drawing illustrates some exemplary embodiments of the transformer according to the invention in a schematic representation. It shows: Fig. 1 a tapping transformer with a secondary winding, Fig. A tapping transformer with two secondary windings, Fig. 3 a rotary transformer, Fig. 4 is a view of another transformer with.
Section through the housing, Fig. 5 is a section along the line AA of Fig. 4, Fig. 6 is a section along the line B --- B of Fig. 4-, Fig. 7 two laminated core planials, Fig. 8 two carriers, 9 shows a further embodiment.
1, the closed iron core a carries the primary coil c on its leg b, which is to be connected to there, network, and on its seeing kel d the secondary coil e, which are switched via a tap changer f to the consumer g can. -As such, for example, the engine of the locomotive of a toy train can come into consideration.
A magnetic shunt h is assigned to the transformer, which in the exemplary embodiment shown is designed as the iron core a of the windings in the direction of the frame surrounding the force line flux.
The cross-section of this shunt and its distance i from the end face of the iron core are dimensioned in such a way that a load-dependent voltage drop occurs in the secondary coil c as a result of the deflection of the lines of force, which increases the current present in the coil in the event of a short circuit to a <B> S </ B > \ ekund, harmless -.Measure limited. The distance of the frame <I> h, </I> from the strings b and <I> d </I> of the h: is core is greater than the distance i.
In the tapping transformer according to FIG. 2, a frame-shaped magnetic shunt h is also provided. However, this transformer has a second secondary winding for other consumers, if it is a toy train, for example for the operation of incandescent lamps, switches and the like, but this is not on the same leg as the controllable one Secondary coil e is applied to them not. to expose their fluctuations.
The second secondary winding lit rather with a part 11 of its turns on your leg <I> cl, </I>. another part 1 'of their turns on the leg b of the iron core a. As you can see, the second secondary winding can be one with a voltage that cannot be regulated. However, it is also possible to make part 11 of its turns controllable by means of a suitable tap.
Via such toy transformers according to the invention, both Weeliselstronr and DC motors can be operated. For the latter case, as shown in the embodiment according to FIG. 2, between the secondary coil e and the consumer g, an equilibrium in and a pole inverter ii. be switched.
Since, for reasons of price, such a small column is usually provided that despite the fact that the transformer is short-circuit;
If there is a risk of thermal overloading of the track, it is useful to increase the spread of the lines of force, which is already artificially increased in order to achieve the transformer's bootleg safety, by adding an additional bypass to increase the corresponding food movement. part magnetically bridged,
in order to generate the desired additional voltage drop in the secondary coil. This can be caused by the insert web 1z 'according to Fig. Who clen. Such an increase in the load-dependent scatter can also be achieved by reducing the distance i and increasing the cross-section of the section h.
The rotary transformer, which is shown in Fig. 3, consists of your iron core s and the rotating armature t. The former carries the primary coil -u connected to the mains, the latter carries the secondary coil v with adjustable voltage for operating the consumer g.
The voltage drop generated in the secondary coil v as a result of the horns 2t) of the iron core s and the pole shoes of the rotating armature t. enlarged by the frame-like magnetic shunt body x in the manner explained several times in such a way that the transformer is short-circuit proof.
On the free leg of the iron core, a further secondary coil y with unregulated voltage for operating further consumers z can be arranged. In addition, what has been said about the pick-up transformer explained above also applies in principle to the rotary transformer.
In this case, the secondary coil v passes through the entire or almost the entire primary flux only at the highest secondary voltage. With smaller ones. Voltages, the primary flux is more or less passed on to the secondary coil. The voltage drop caused by the pole pieces, that is to say by the horns u, is experienced, which becomes greater and greater with decreasing voltage. a considerable increase due to the additional magnetic shunt.
The voltage therefore changes more as the twisting angle of the rotating armature increases than with a transformer without an additional magnetic shunt. This results in a simplified regulation, since the armature does not have to be rotated so far to achieve a certain regulating effect. The standard work is thus reduced and handling easier.
As FIGS. 1 to 8 show, a special frame, bracket or web-like addition is unnecessary if the support parts and / or the housing of the transformer are designed as a magnetic shunt in the sense of the invention.
In this exemplary embodiment, the transformer has a closed iron core. It is formed from U-shaped lamellae 1 according to FIG. 7, which are placed against one another in such a way that the U-opening 2 of one lamella is directed in one direction, that of the next lamella in the opposite direction.
The primary coil 4 is arranged on the leg 3 of the iron core, while the leg 5 carries the secondary coil 6, the voltage of which can be regulated.
The structure consisting of the core and the coils be placed in the housing 7 and preferably attached to the bottom 8 thereof. If necessary, it can also be on. be attached to one of the housing walls.
To hold the active parts of the transformer in its housing, carriers or holders 9, which are also designed as parts of magnetic shunts, are used. These ferromagnetic carriers connect two points of the transformer iron core with the housing base 8, which is also made of ferromagnetic material, so that a magnetic shunt is formed by the support parts 8 and 9 at the same time.
In this case, the carrier 9 form a part of the iron core, in that angled holding arms of this carrier are pushed into the sheet-metal lamella packet that forms the iron core, with the outside. the magnetic connection atieli establish the mechanical connection of the bottom 8 riding the iron core of the transformer.
In the illustrated embodiment, carriers are seen from particular simplicity. F-shaped holders 9 are used which, in terms of shape and size, correspond to the lamellas 1 forming the laminated core of the iron core, or differ from these only in the foot part 10, which is provided as an extension of the U-crosspiece 11 .
This Hal. ter 9, which are expediently somewhat thicker than the lamellae 1, form the two outer laminated core lamellae. Your legs 12 lie on the corresponding lamella legs 1a. of the lamellas 1, while the base parts 10 are used to fasten the active transformer part to the housing or its base, so that no special support means are required. The fastening is preferably carried out by bending over part of the foot parts 10, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 5.
The holders 9 attached to the front of the transformer are, on the one hand, components of the iron core, and on the other hand, their base parts 10 form parts of a magnetic shunt and in this respect contribute to short-circuit protection.
This results in the further advantage that riveting, screwing or other connection of supporting parts to the iron core is unnecessary. So the carriers have three functions: on the one hand they are part of the iron core, on the other hand they form an additional magnetic shunt for the purpose of overcurrent protection and also serve as supporting parts to fix the position of the iron core.
In the case of small transformers, these protective measures are usually sufficient. In the case of transformers with greater power, an additional frame or the like according to FIGS. 1 and 2 may have to be provided.
A further magnetic shunt can, if necessary, represent the housing 7, which is then made of ferromagnetic mate rial and run as close as possible to the end faces of the core. Another embodiment of the transformer is. shown in Fig. 9, in which the carriers are not integral with the sheet metal laminations. Rather, angle pieces 13 are provided which are attached to the bottom of the transformer housing 7 by means of tabs 14.
The upper legs of this angular carrier are inserted between the sheet metal packet and the coil 5, whereby the carrier form parts of a magnetic secondary luss. In this training, the carriers do not also represent parts of the iron core. However, it has the advantage that the laminated sheet pack is clamped in its position opposite the coils when the base leg of the carrier is inserted or pressed between the pack and the primary coil becomes.
Based on the knowledge that you. Walls of the housing 7 are subject to a strong magnetic wavy flux due to the leakage of the magnetic leakage flux at the end face of the transformer in the event of a short circuit, the ferro-magnetic gel walls that vibrate can be used to emit an acoustic warning sign,
which can be reinforced by an appropriately designed tongue arranged on the housing wall. That leads to the progress that a short circuit or the like immediately. audibly geniaeht, the short-story cause can be fixed quickly.
In addition to the advantages already explained, transformers designed as tapping transformers according to the invention have the advantage that the regulation can be made more smoothly. Since there is a certain voltage range between the different voltage levels of a tap ti # Anfoi # niatoi-s, a sudden regulation is given.
As a result of the magnetic secondary circuit provided in the context of the invention, the effect of which is noticeable in every stage, the transition from stage to stage is more fluid, and the regulation is therefore more finely tuned.
The invention is. Suitable for transformers for main current motors as well as for transformers for shunt motors. It is particularly advantageous in the case of transmitters for the operation of motors with a magnetic field generated by permanent magnets, since such minor fault motors are particularly at risk from thermal overload
