Process for the production of pipe connections with end parts of different wall thicknesses made of metal. The present invention relates to a method for producing pipe connecting pieces with end parts of different wall thicknesses made of Meta11, which is characterized by the following operations: Forming a molding with a wall thickness that lies between those of the two connecting piece end parts, heating the molding, Longitudinal stowage of the one end of the molding in the heated state for the purpose of forming the diekeren end part and simultaneous longitudinal extension of the other end of the molding for the purpose of forming the other end part of the pipe connection piece.
An exemplary embodiment of the method according to the invention is explained with reference to the drawing, in which: FIG. 1 shows a section through a device for carrying out the method on line 1-1 of FIG. 6, FIG. 2 shows a partial step through this device with the molding before the pressing process, FIG. 3 a partial section near line 3-3 of FIG. 5, the fitting being pressed completely, FIG. 4 a section through the insertion, with the upper die withdrawn and the ejector is shown fully resting against the fitting, FIG. 5 shows a cross section along line 5-5 of FIG. 3, FIG. 6 shows partially a view and partially a section of the device in the open position, FIG.
7 shows a section through parts of the device in the closed position, FIG. 8 shows a perspective view of the molding and FIG. 9 shows a perspective view of the finished fitting.
It is well known that cast fittings are suitable for a variety of purposes. are because their structure is so porous that certain fluids such. B. cooling liquids or gases can escape. This evil leads only to a loss of fluid, but also to its penetration into living and working rooms; and many of these fluids are poisonous.
The method described is intended to produce fittings for such fluid conduits, but also for sanitary purposes.
The finished fitting 1 has a cylindrical end part 2? Which, in the example shown, has an external thread, a polygonal intermediate part 3 suitable for attaching a visual screw socket and a cylindrical end part 4 with a smaller outer diameter than the other end part. 2.
From Fig. 3 it can be seen that the wall thickness of the end part 2 is considerably greater than that of the end part 4 in order to enable a tendon of the thread without weakening the fitting.
The fitting 1 is expediently made of brass. However, other metals or alloys can also be advantageous for special applications.
To produce the fitting, a press 5 is used, the bed 6 of which has a downwardly tapered die seat 7 to accommodate the lower die B. The tapering of the seat 7 and the die 8 is primarily used to achieve a good fit, as the die during pressing is subjected to great forces.
The upper die carrier 9 has an upwardly tapered die seat 10 for the upper die 11. The carrier 9 is supported by the rods 12 attached to the yoke 13. The yoke 13 is attached to the piston rod 14 of the plunger 15 of the hydraulic device 16 Vorrich. This hydraulic Vorrich device is used not only to move the carrier 9 up and down relative to the bed 6, but also to clamp the two dies 8, 11 in their closed position.
The lower die 8 has a central bore 151 provided at its upper end with a polygonal extension 161. The complementary upper die 11 has a central bore 17, the diameter of which is larger than that of the bore 151.
The punch 18 has an upper part 19 of such a diameter that it slides tend into the bore 17 of the upper die 11 fits. The lower part 20 of the punch 18 has a diameter which is smaller than that of the bore 151 in the lower die B.
In order to center the two dies 8, 11 under load, the die 8 has a circumferential shoulder 21 and the die 11 has a central recess 22. The shoulder 21 forms a sliding fit for the edge of the recess 22 when the dies 8, 11 are in the closed position (Fig. 7).
The punch 18 is fastened to the punch head 23 be. The yoke 13 of the hy draulic Vorrich device carries an ejector 24 which pushes the work piece out of the lower die 8 during reverse gear of the upper die carrier 9, as indicated by dashed lines in FIG.
When carrying out the method, a tubular molding 25 is first produced with a wall thickness that lies between the two end parts 2, 4 of the fitting. The molding is then heated to red heat. While the upper die carrier 6 is lowered into the closed position onto the lower die carrier 6, the heated molding is thrown into the upper die 11, that is to say into its central funnel-shaped recess 26. It then falls into the position according to FIG. 2, its foot end abutting the shoulder 27 formed by the enlargement 161. Then the punch 1 is brought down, which - as explained above - fits slidingly into the bore 17 of the upper die 11, and its holder 28 (Fig. 3) hits the head end of the molding.
When the punch is pressed down further, one end of the molding is compressed, forming the fitting parts \? 1 and 3 and the other end extended to form the fitting part 4. In practice, this accumulation and extension take place simultaneously.
When the die carrier 9 rises again, the two dies 8, 11 are separated from one another and the fully pressed fitting is ejected by the ejector 24. For many purposes, the intermediate part 3, as shown, is polygonal in shape so that it can be grasped by a wrench. For certain uses, this intermediate part can also have a cylindri cal shape in order to put a pipe wrench on zii. After the shaping described, the thread can be cut as usual. For certain purposes, no thread is cut on the fitting part 2.
During the shaping, the metal is supported on the inside over its entire length by the redilated part 20 of the punch 18. By upsetting and pulling out, the structure of the metal is strengthened.
The device can be designed so that it can be used for different sizes of fittings, so that the dies and the ejector can be exchanged. The length of the molding 25 is selected so that the amount of material required to form the fitting is available. The moldings 25 are preferably cut from drawn pipes that are easily made or can be procured on the market, in different sizes, wall thicknesses and made of different metals and alloys. As a heating temperature for brass 600 C is suitable, while other metals or alloys require a higher or lower temperature ver in order to convert the moldings into a deformable state.
The thinner end portion of the finished fitting usually has an uneven edge, but this deficiency can be easily remedied. For certain purposes, these fittings can also be provided with an internal thread.
With the aid of the method described, fittings of various proportions and with widenings provided between their end parts can be produced economically and in large quantities with relatively simple means. Standard machines, e.g. B. punch, are used for their production.
