Description

Cycle porteur.

Cycle carrier. This invention relates to a carrier cycle with two wheels.

We have. already proposed, to use the bicycles to transport, in addition to the cyclist, more or less bulky packages, to have a luggage rack behind the saddle, as well as a luggage rack in front of the handlebars. However, these provisions present. major disadvantages: the front luggage rack brings some discomfort to the steering since the load it supports constantly tends to amplify the movements that the cyclist can give to the steering, tan say that the rear luggage carrier carries the entire load by the drive wheel, causing rapid wear of the corresponding tire.

The cycle after the invention, which overcomes these drawbacks comprises a luggage carrier arranged so as to distribute in a preferably equal way between the two wheels, the load supported by this luggage carrier. This luggage carrier will preferably consist of a sort of of preferably openwork box. He can. be removably attached to the frame or form an integral part thereof.

The box may be formed of solid or tubular elements, of circular, polygonal or other cross-section, established in any suitable material, preferably in a light metal or alloy of light metals to reduce the weight of the assembly. In the accompanying drawing which represents, to. As an exemplary embodiment of the invention, an embodiment of the carrier cycle in which the luggage carrier is placed in front of the cyclist and forms an integral part of the frame: FIG. 1 is an elevation of a bicycle including the luggage rack.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the frame alone of the. bieyelette of fig. 1.

The bicycle has a frame 1 supported, in the usual way, on the axes of the carrying wheels? and 3.

A suitable part of this frame, the front part in the embodiment shown, is established in the form of a crate comprising, for example, an upper frame -1 made integral by autogenous hard fuel or not , brazing or otherwise of the upper tube 5 of the frame.

The lower frame 6 is fixed from the. same way to the lower tube 7 of the frame and the whole is made suitably rigid by tie rods such as S and 9 in any desired number connecting. the body to the steering tube 10, said body presenting vertical uprights 11 arranged at the corners of the frames and.

which may have triangulation elements 12 of any suitable position which can also form, up to a certain point., the walls of the body. Of course, said walls may be supplemented by the addition of solid or perforated panels or constituted by metal screens of any desired arrangement and of all appropriate dimensions and which may be fixed directly on the frames of the body or be provided with frames for their allowing to be placed in the box independently of it.

The body can, of course, have any desired dimensions and any desired shape, the frame being able to receive mie lon gueur suitably increased to allow the movement of the legs of the cyclist, the handlebars also receiving a suitable shape to allow its maneuvering.

The invention applies to bicycles of any arrangement with one or more passengers.
