Coupling for a chair backrest that is carried by a stand and is height-adjustable relative to a chair seat and can be swiveled forwards and backwards. The invention relates to a coupling for a chair back support which is carried by a stand and is adjustable in height relative to a chair seat and can be pivoted forwards and backwards. The adjustment of the back support or its pivoting forwards or backwards should be easy.
Furthermore, the backrest should be guided securely when it is pivoted and, once it has been set in the desired position, should be secured in a simple manner both against displacement in the vertical direction and against unintentional pivoting.
The coupling according to the invention is characterized in that a toothed ring is connected to an arm protruding away from the chair seat, which ring cooperates with a second toothed ring on a disk which is rotatable relative to the first-mentioned toothed ring and relative to which the stand is longitudinally displaceable but non-pivotable is
wherein a locking bolt extends through the center of the ring gears and, together with a locking element pivotable in an axial plane of the locking bolt, presses the ring gears against one another in its locking position and at the same time locks the stator against longitudinal displacement.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings. In the drawings, FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an office chair provided with the coupling, while FIG. 2 shows the coupling on a larger scale; Scale and in section along the line 11-II in Fig. 3 shows.
FIG. 3 is a section along the line III-III in FIG. 2.
The chair shown in Fig. 1 consists. from a pedestal 10, which carries a screw spindle 30, on which one of a central part 34 and band-shaped struts 38 built up frame for the chair seat 40 be fastened.
An arm 64 is passed through a slot in a strut 38 of the frame 12 carrying the seat leaf and is expediently fastened to the central part 34 by welding. This arm 64 opens at its free end into a disc 66 which is seen ver on its curved circumference with a ring gear. Parallel to the disc 66, a clutch disc 70 is arranged, which is also provided with teeth 72 engaging in the teeth of the disc 66 on its curved circumference. The ver with a hub welded disc 70 is by means of a Füh approximately element, which can for example be a cover 74 provided with a groove 76, attached to the stand 78, which supports a back 80 carries.
The stand 78 has a longitudinally running slot 82 into which a panel 84 with a rectangular cross section enters. A bolt 86 is screwed into this element 84 and extends through the hub of the part 70, and remotely, through a central opening in the disk 66. On the outside of the washer 66, a nut 88 is screwed onto the stepped end part of the bolt 86 in such a way that the washer 66 is pressed between the nut 88 and the shoulder 89 of the bolt 86.
The fork-shaped end of a handle 90 engages around the ele ment 84 and is pivotably mounted in this by means of a Zap fens 92 in an axial plane of the bolt 86. This fork-shaped end is designed as an eccentric whose eccentric surface 94 rests against a disk 96, which in turn is supported on the stand 78.
In the position shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the disc 66 is coupled to the disc 70 and the rod 78, i. H. By pivoting the lever 90 up, the disk 66 was pulled to the right over the bolt 86 in such a way that the teeth of the two disks 66 and 70 have come into engagement with one another against the action of the spring 98 lying between them. The eccentric surface 94 presses the disk 96 against the stand 78 and holds it in place by clamping.
When the handle 90 is pivoted 90 clockwise in FIG. 3, the engagement between the disks 66 and 70 ceases so that the stand 78 can be adjusted to another pivot position. This pivoting movement can be limited by a projection 97 on the disc 70, which comes into contact with the arm 64 when the backrest 80 is pivoted down. As a result of this adjustment of the handle 90, the stand 78 is still released, so that it can be moved in its longitudinal direction to adjust the height of the back support 80.
