Verdicbter.
Condemned. The present invention relates to a compressor for air, gas, etc., with reciprocating piston movement of the type that has a ring slide. Which controls the supply of the pumped medium to the cylinder, which, a suction jacket men and promoted in a collecting jacket from which the fluid is fed to the compressor outlet via a check valve.
It has already been proposed to provide the cylinder head of a compressor of this type with a passage which discharges into the atmosphere and is controlled by a valve which normally keeps the passage closed but opens to the cylinder with the Connect atmosphere and relieve the compressor.
According to the present invention, a compressor of the type mentioned is provided with a channel, which is controlled by the collecting jacket, the entry of the conveying medium through the ring slide. will lead to the atmosphere, z. B. over the suction jacket, and with a relief valve that controls the channel for opening and closing the same.
The invention can be applied in particular to compressors in which one end part of the ring slide moves back and forth in an annular space between the cylinder and an inwardly projecting part of the cylinder head. The collecting jacket can be formed from a part of this space ice.
In the accompanying drawing, the subject of the invention is shown, for example. 1 shows a vertical section through a cylinder and parts that are assigned to this cylinder for an embodiment of the compressor according to the present invention, FIG. 2 shows a section along line 2-2 of FIG. 1 in the direction of indicated arrows, Fig. 3 is a partially broken away elevation,
to illustrate the inner construc tion of a second embodiment of the Ver poet, and s Fig. 4 is a plan view of the compressor of FIG. 3 with the cylinder head omitted. When first considering the construction of the compressor shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it can be seen that it has a cylinder 11 which is surrounded by a suction jacket 12 which is connected to the cylinder by a series of through openings 13 is.
The air supply to the suction jacket is indicated at 14, and at 15 and 16, the cylinder jacket is shown around the cylinder.
A ring slide 17 moves back and forth in the cylinder, and inside the ring slide there is a piston 18 actuated by a connecting rod 19, the crank on which this connecting rod works, the crankcase and the lower part of the cylinder in the Drawings have been omitted because these parts of the construction are self-evident. A head plate 20 is arranged at the top of the cylinder, and the head part 21 is located above this head plate 20.
The head plate 20 and the part 21, which parts are connected to the cylinder by bolts 22 and screw nuts 23, form parts of the cylinder head. On the bottom side of the intermediate plate 20 is a part 24 of the cylinder head, which part is attached to the intermediate plate 20 by screws 25, the entirety of the three parts 20, 21 and 24 being connected to one another by bolts 26 and nuts 27 .
The part 24 of the cylinder head, which protrudes into the interior of the cylinder, delimits an annular space 28 between itself and the inner wall of the cylinder 11, which space is adapted to the upper end of the annular slide 17, so that this upper part of the slide extends into this space - and can move here.
In the upper part of the ring slide valve 17, a sealing ring 29 is provided to fit the shape. to provide a tight separation joint between this slide part and part 24 of the cylinder head.
The water part 24 has spaced-apart passages30 which are formed by short grooves in its outer surface and are spaced around the lower edge of this part, these passages always being in communication with the cylinder space, but by the ring , slider 17 are covered when the latter is raised during the suction stroke,
so that the collecting jacket 28 is completed against the cylinder chamber Zy during the entire duration of this stroke.
During the delivery stroke, the slide 17 is in its lower position, thereby releasing the passages 30 so that they are in communication with the collecting jacket 28 and the piston 18 is able to pass air through the passages into the collecting jacket 28 during the delivery stroke to press.
The intermediate plate 20 is provided with an annular channel 31 in its lower surface, which channel forms a continuation of the collecting jacket 28 and through a ring of passage openings 32 with the upper surface of the intermediate plate 20 is in connection, namely where upper surface opposite an outlet 33 of considerable size which is located in the main casting 21 of the cylinder head.
The upper ends of the passage openings 32 arranged in a wreath are closed by an annular membrane 34 which rests on the surface of the intermediate plate 20 above the passage openings 32. The membrane is pressed down by springs 35, which are accommodated in indentations in an annular casting 36 which is arranged over the membrane 34,
but stands at a distance from this. The annular casting 36 is supported by abutment pieces 37 on the intermediate plate 20 by these abutment pieces protrude from the underside of this cast piece and lie on the intermediate plate 20. These pieces of equipment are held on the plate 20 by Bol zen 38, which pass through holes thereof.
As a result, the normal delivery of the compressor occurs via the membrane 34 into the outlet 33, where the annular collecting jacket 28 cannot: form a dead space inside the compressor, because after the annular slide 17 the connection of the space above the piston 18 with interrupted the collecting jacket through the passages 30 at the end of the conveying stroke, the ring slide moves further upwards and presses air out of the collecting jacket 28 through the openings 32 until the ring slide has reached the top of the room,
which is gebil det from the collecting jacket. When the ring slide 17 is near the upper end of its stroke, it establishes a connection between the suction jacket 12 and the interior of the cylinder because the ring of passages 39 in the ring slide with passages 13 in the cylinder wall are long in comparison.
The intermediate plate 20 is also provided with a channel 40 which emanates from the channel 31 on one side of the cylinder and leads to a point where it lies below a relief opening 41 formed in the main casting 21 of the cylinder head.
The relief opening 41 is closed by a relief valve 42 that opens against the flow direction. This valve has a shaft which extends upward through the cylinder head into a control cylinder 43. In the control cylinder 43, a control piston 44 is arranged, which loads the shaft of the relief valve 42, the piston and the valve tending to move upward by the action of a spring 45.
The control cylinder 43 is through a pipe 46 with an automatic. Relief organ, which is omitted in the drawing, connected. The automatic discharge organ is with. Connected to the air tank in which the compressor delivers., Or this pipe can also be connected to a part of this tank, wherein. is transmitted through the pipe 46 when the prescribed delivery pressure is reached delivery pressure.
Through the transmission of the delivery pressure through the pipe 46, the control piston is forced to move downwards to open the valve 42 and thereby to bring the channel 40 through the relief opening 41 into connection with another channel 47, which is offered in the cylinder head.
As can be seen from Fig. 2 of the drawing, the channel 47 is connected to a passage 48 in the lower side of the cylinder head part 21, which passage is connected via a passage 49 in the intermediate plate 20 to a channel 50 in the cylinder , which latter a connection of the channel 4 7 with. the suction jacket 12 produces.
During operation, when the valve is closed 42, compressed air is passed through the membrane 43 into the outlet 33, in order to create delivery pressure in the container or another vessel into which the compressor delivers. introduced. After the Druuckbildunb has reached the prescribed value, the automatic discharge device is operated so that it drives compressed air through the pipe 46 and thereby brings the valve 42 to open.
After the valve has opened, the air that is conveyed by the piston flows into the collecting jacket 28 and from there via the channel 40 and the relief opening 41, and then via the channels and passages 47 to 50 to the suction jacket 12. A back flow of air through the valve 42 is prevented by the fact that after the suction stroke of the United poet the connection between the collecting jacket 28 and the cylinder is interrupted by the ring slide 17 and therefore the entire volume of air that flows into the cylinder, the same through the passage openings 13 flows in.
After the ring slide 17 has broken the connection between the collecting jacket 28 and the cylinder space, it moves further upwards and pushes the rest of the air through the discharge opening 41 to the suction jacket 12. In the suction jacket 1.2, the relatively strongly heated Air that has been driven out of the cylinder and from the collecting jacket, mixed with the atmospheric air from the inlet 14 and, before it is sucked back into the cylinder and again through the relief valve - ;, e- is cooled.
This arrangement of the relief passage results in two results, namely a first, which is that due to the fact that the hot air is not passed back and forth over the valve during both the suction and delivery strokes of the piston. this valve is not exposed to such heating as in the case in which the valve opens a direct connection between the cylinder and the suction zone that is otherwise not further controlled.
This reduces the risk of the valve assuming a high temperature and thereby carbonizing the oil. Second, that due to the storage of the collecting jacket 28 between the cylinder space and the relief openings, and the constant constant direction of the air flow through these parts as well as the conveyance of some of the air through the ring slide after the piston has been separated from the Sam melmantel is
the actuation of the vent causes less noise than was previously the case.
As a result of the fact that the valve 42 is not arranged vertically above the cylinder space or does not work directly with the same, the risk of damage being caused if the valve or spring 45 breaks while the compressor is in operation is excluded . In previous designs, the possibility existed that in such cases the valve head would have fallen into the cylinder of the compressor or at least would have come into contact with the piston head and thereby caused damage.
With reference to FIGS. 3 and 4 it can be seen that the compressor in question is provided with two cylinders 60 and 61, which ring sliders 62, 63 and pistons 64, 65 contain. The cylinders arranged side by side are arranged in a single block which is surrounded by a water jacket 66 and carries a head plate 67 and a master cylinder head casting 68.
Furthermore, this arrangement contains a suction jacket 69 and an air inlet 70, the construction of this arrangement from all these parts being generally similar to the arrangement described so far with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. The construction of the double arrangement differs however in that the relief passage 71, instead of being arranged in the head,
As is the case with the relief opening 41 according to FIGS. 1 and 2, is arranged in the cylinder block, and the upwardly opening valve 72, which controls this opening, has its seat on the cylinder block, ie is supported on this and has a shaft possesses, which rather extends downward through a guide 73 m into a chamber 74 which is located to the side of the cylinder block. The chamber 74 ′ forms a channel which connects the relief opening with the suction jacket 69.
The valve 72 tries to move in a direction to close the relief passage 71 due to the force of a spring 75.
As can be seen from the plan figure 4, two valves 72 are provided side by side in the cylinder block, one for each cylinder, and both valves are controlled by a single lever 76 which has a forked end 77, 78, the two arms of the Fork are engaged with the lower end of the stem of the valves.
The forked lever 76 is rotatably supported on a support 79, which is attached to the outside of the cylinder block, and the lever occurs to the outside of the cylinder block through a large opening in the side wall of the same, which is covered by a housing 80 be.
In its upper part, the housing 80 forms a control cylinder 81 which has a piston 82 and is connected to an air supply pipe 88 which corresponds to the pipe 46 according to FIG. Spaces 84 in the intermediate plate 67, which each correspond to the channel 40 in FIG. 1, are each verbun with a collecting jacket of a cylinder, as indicated by dashed lines 85 in FIG.
It can easily be seen that the sectional illustration in FIG. 3 is to be understood as running along an uneven surface which is approximately illustrated by the line 3-3 in FIG. The mode of operation is the same as in the arrangement according to Fig.l and 2, whereby in the present case both cylinders are relieved simultaneously by actuating the same lever.
Although a piston and an associated cylinder are shown in the drawing to actuate the relief valves, it will be understood that a screw or a cam or a mechanical device acting similarly to these elements for actuating the valve, both as an addition to the piston or al's Replacement of the same could be used.
The mechanical actuation of the relief device can be used to advantage in cases where it is required that the compressor can be started and manually connected to a pipe system which is already under pressure, as in the case of several compressors which would be connected to feed a single system.
