Wäsche-Trockenmaschine.
Laundry drying machine. The present invention relates to a laundry drying machine with a horizontally mounted drum which is used to hold the laundry to be dried and which can be rotated by means of a drive device. This drying machine is characterized in that the drum made of sheet steel is superimposed on the fly and is provided with shovel-like drivers running parallel to the axis of rotation, which are used to lift the laundry.
On the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: Fig. 1 is a view of the front of the drying machine in the oblique direction see GE, Fig. 2 is a vertical section and Fig. 3 is a cross section through the drum on a smaller scale.
The machine has a housing 1 in which a drum 2 is rotatably mounted horizontally. The drum 2 is made of sheet steel and is provided with a perforation for the passage of an air stream. Since the drum 2 is cantilevered, a quiet run with uneven ger load by the laundry use it is enough. To support the drum 2, one end wall is connected to a disk 3 to which a pin 4 designed for use in a bearing 5 is connected. The pin 4 projects beyond the bearing 5 and carries a drive disk 6 on its free end.
The front end wall of the Trom mel 2 has an opening 7 (Fig. 3) for bringing the laundry into the drum and for removing it from the latter after the drying process has ended. This opening is chosen large enough that the introduction and removal of the laundry pieces requires very little time. The Ge housing 1 has a cylindrical projection 8 which protrudes into the opening 7 of the drum 2 and thus limits the deflection of the drum 2.
The opening 7 can be closed by a door 9 hinged to the front wall of the housing. Four drivers 10 (FIG. 3) extending parallel to the axis of rotation over the entire length of the drum are built into the drum 2 and face one another in pairs. NEN more than four such drivers can also be provided, the task of which is described below.
In the lower part of the housing 1, a filter 11 is arranged, which begins behind a housing opening closed by a cover 12 and ends in front of a fan 13. With the shaft of the fan 13, an electric motor 14 is coupled as a drive member ge. which also sets the drum 2 in circulation via a reduction gear.
This reduction gear consists of a pulley 15 placed on the motor shaft, two intermediate pulleys 16 and 17 and the pulley 6 and the belt 17a. But it can also be constructed from other known construction elements, for example it can be designed as a gear transmission, chain transmission, hydraulic transmission, etc. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the transmission is outside the housing 1; but it can also lie within this latter direct or be covered by means of a special casing.
On the housing 1, an attachment 18 is placed, which includes an air heater in the form of an electrical heating resistor and an air duct 19, which the latter is supplied with the air required for drying the laundry in the arrow directions for heating from the fan 13. From the air duct 19, the heated air flows across the drum 2 therethrough.
The device has been arranged so that the air inside the housing can be set in circulation in such a way that it has to pass through the drum repeatedly until. it has reached a certain degree of humidity that is below the saturation point, whereupon it is removed from the housing through a channel 20 as exhaust air by opening the flap 24. The fresh air enters the housing by temporarily opening the cover 12.
In the fresh air flow and in the circulating air flow, regulating elements can also be installed (not shown), which enable the machine to work economically by allowing the fresh air supply and exhaust air discharge to be changed. For example, more frequent air changes will be necessary after putting wet laundry into the drum than after some time, when the laundry is almost too dry. In this way, the energy consumption, especially for heating the air, can be kept to a minimum. restrict.
The fresh air supply as well as the exhaust air discharge can also be regulated by means of control means depending on the temperature and moisture content, so that, depending on the operating status, a more or less large amount of exhaust air is extracted from the circulation flow and expelled and a corresponding amount of fresh air is fed becomes.
A control lamp 21 is attached to the housing 1, which lights up during operation, that is to say as long as the motor 13 is switched on. This control lamp 21 is located next to the locking member of the door 9, so that it must be seen and observed when the door lock is operated. It therefore helps to avoid incorrect manipulations, such as opening the door during operation. The control clock 22 and a thermometer 23 also serve to facilitate operation.
The door 9 can, however, also be provided in a known manner with an electrical locking and unlocking device such that it can only be opened and closed again when the motor 14 is at a standstill, the circuit required for use being able to be designed such that the motor can only be started up when the door 9 is closed.
In order to avoid heat losses through radiation, the housing 1 is equipped with insulation, which is not shown in the drawing. The reduction gear for transmitting the rotational movement of the motor 14 to the drum 2 is designed such that the latter has such a low speed that the laundry items are probably lifted by the driver 10, but become detached from the latter during the rotation of the drum and according to their own weight fall back towards the lowest point in each case and not stick to the drum wall due to centrifugal force.
As soon as the drivers 10 are each freed from the laundry they have taken with them, they have the effect of shovels during the rotation, that is, they cause certain air currents across the drum, so that air vortices are formed together with the main air flow, which accelerates the drying process.
Tests have shown that the laundry cannot wear out in the machine described, rather that the laundry is treated gently during the drying process.
The installation of an air filter guarantees that the drying air is clean and that it cannot contaminate the laundry with cracked impurities.
