Wheel rim made of light alloy for bicycles. The present invention is a wheel rim. Light metals such as aluminum and its alloys for bicycles.
In the past, it was common practice for such rims to give the spoke nipples a. Washer made of sheet steel, adapted to the rim base, to prevent premature wear of the material around the hole for the spoke nipple. As a result, the nipple head protruded very far above the bottom of the rim, which resulted in severe wear and tear and often chafing of the air hose of the tires.
This inconvenience is now to be remedied by the rim according to the invention in that the same has a countersink for the head of the spoke nipple at each nipple hole at the bottom of the rim bottom, such that it is approximately flush with the rim bottom.
Thanks to this training, the nipple head is kept centered in this lowering with an exactly matching design of the United and hardly protrudes beyond the rim base, so that the nipple head does not penetrate the air hose.
It is expedient here: the formation is such that the rim material is treated at the points around the recesses in order to increase the mechanical resistance of the surface through the compression and hardening of the surface. This can be done, for example, by pressing the countersink when punching out the nipple hole, so that the material is compressed all around the same without creating an elevation on the outside of the rim.
The remuneration could also bezw by using one of the known electrolyte tables. anodic surface treatment process can be achieved. In this case, the countersink could also be generated by drilling or reaming.
In order to achieve a correct seating of the spoke nipples, the rim base is expediently profiled in such a way that it has two mutually inclined rim surfaces, the generatrices of which are perpendicular to the axes of the spokes ending in each rim surface.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a cross section of a combined wire and beaded casing rim, FIG. 2 shows a wire casing rim, and FIG. 3 shows a partial section through a double wall rim.
In Fig. 1, shown combined wire and beaded rim TU made of aluminum, the holes 1 for the Spei nipple N, which are used in a known manner to hold the spokes S, from alternately opposite the wheel center plane M laterally offset from each other under a Drilled slope which corresponds to the slope of the spokes S.
At each hole 1 there is a countersink 2 on the rim base, into which the nipple head fits exactly so that it is held centered in it and is approximately flush with the rim base. The countersink 2 is created simultaneously with the punching out of the hole 1 by the same tool and since the material can not move upwards, a compaction and therefore compensation of the rim mate rials is generated at this point by the Liche displacement of the same, without the curved rim side creates a protrusion around the nipple hole.
In the wire jacket rim D shown in Fig. 2, the nipple holes 1 sit alternately in two wreaths of the rim base, the generatrix of which are perpendicular to the axes of the spokes S ending in each wreath surface. Here, too, a countersink 2 is pressed into each hole 1 in the same way as described above, into which the nipple head fits exactly, whereby it is approximately flush with the rim base or.
of the two wreath surfaces.
In both examples, the countersinks could. 2 instead of being pressed also drilled or rubbed out, after which the compensation device by surface treatment according to one of the known electrolytic BEZW. anodic process would be done.
In the double-walled rim F shown in Fig. 3, the nipple hole 1 lies in the inner rim wall f 2 and the nipple head sits on its edge. In the outer rim wall f 1, a cylindrical recess 2 'is seen in the hole 1 in such a way that it surrounds the nipple head freely as a countersink, so that here the nipple head is approximately flush with the rim base.
