Air intake nozzle for gasifier. The present invention relates to an air intake nozzle for a gasifier, characterized in that it comprises an air intake nozzle, the mouth of which is limited to its lower part by a sloping surface of the gasifier. on the outside, this surface being directly above a water addition nozzle oriented so that the water from this nozzle diametrically crosses said mouth and is entrained in more or less quantity by the air passing through the nozzle according to the flow rate of the latter, the untrained fraction of this water falling on this sloping surface part from which it flows to be evacuated, through an evacuation orifice, at the outside of the nozzle.
The quantity of water entering this hearth therefore varies as a function of the intensity of the air flow passing through the nozzle and it is thus possible, by means of the nozzle according to the invention, to avoid flooding the hearth at low speed. while tempering it at high speed. The drawing represents, by way of example, a particular embodiment of the nozzle according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section of this embodiment; Fig. 2 shows this embodiment mounted on a gasifier; Fig. 3 is a front view of the nozzle with the cap removed.
In fig. 3, the nozzle is shown in turn born from 90, the plane P therefore representing a vertical plane.
The nozzle shown comprises an inlet nozzle 2 removably disposed in a nozzle body 1 of axis 4. The nozzle and the body 1 are made of an alloy of high thermal conductivity, for example of red copper with a little tin. . The central channel 3 of this nozzle has a mouth 6 formed by an expansion. The mouth is thus limited at its lower part by a sloping surface on the outside side. In line with this mouth 6, the nozzle 2 has a flange 7 in which a peripheral shoulder 8 is formed on which a cap 9 is applied.
The cap 9 communicates with the outside through an open tube 10 of axis 4 projecting inside the cap 9. A non-return valve, mounted at the inside end of this tube, consists of a flap 11 freely articulated on a hinge 12, with a horizontal axis, located at its upper part. This flap is applied to the edge 13 of the tube 10 which is inclined from the hinge 12 in the direction of the mouth 6.
In the vertical plane (P, fig. 3) passing through the axis 4, and which is the plane of fig. 1, the flange 7 is pierced with a vertical duct 16 forming a nozzle intended to be connected at its upper end by a flexible duct, not shown, to a slightly loaded water tank, the flow rate being regulated by a tap. An evacuation hole 21 is made in the cap 9 above the mouth 6 and in the aforementioned vertical plane. The nozzle is located directly above the sloping surface limiting the lower part of the mouth 6.
-A number of holes 23 are formed in the collar 7 around the mouth 6. These holes 23 communicate the interior of the cap 9 with a passage formed between the nozzle 2 and the internal surface of the cylindrical bore 25 of axis 4 formed in the nozzle body 1. This body 1 carries, on the outside side, an enlarged part 28 having a housing 29 in which fits a cylindrical part of the glue 7 rette. nozzle 2 is applied by its collar 7 on the annular surface 29 'of the part 28.
For the assembly of the elements of the nozzle and its fixing to the metal wall 39 of a gasifier, the cap 9 has a flange 40 pierced with holes 41 parallel to the axis 4 in which are engaged the studs 43 fixed to this wall (Fig. 2) and on which screws feel nuts 46 coming to press on the flange 40. The enlarged part 28 of the body 1 is thus applied with the interposition of a washer 47 on a reinforcement 48 of the wall of the gasifier. The installation and disassembly of the whole of the nozzle shown are thus easy and quick.
Fig. 2 shows the nozzle described mounted on a gasifier.
The operation of the nozzle described is as follows:. After ignition of the gasifier, the outlet valve of the water tank is open so as to supply the nozzle 16.
When the need for gas, and therefore the suction, is low, which corresponds for example to the idling speed of the supplied engine, the shutter 11 is slightly open.
The water arriving through the nozzle 16 diametrically crosses the mouth 6 and falls on the sloping surface limiting the lower part of the mouth 6 and is discharged to the outside through the hole 21 without being entrained. The gasifier then produces practically only lean gas based on carbon monoxide.
The degree of opening of the shutter 11 depends on the intensity of the suction. When it reaches a certain value. the air passing through the nozzle 2 carries with it a certain quantity of water. This water vaporizes immediately on entering the hearth where it is decomposed by the incandescent carbon. Water gas (carbon monoxide and hydrogen) with a high calorific value is thus produced. The quantity of water entrained in the hearth is automatically dosed according to the depression in this one so that the danger of flooding the hearth is avoided. The untrained fraction of the water is always discharged through hole 21.
It has been found that the use of the nozzle described ensures that slow pulverized ash is obtained, so that the generator can be re-ignited several times in succession without being obliged to perform the complete emptying.
It should be noted that the clinker can be very easily removed through the opening of the part 48 after having removed the nozzle. In a variant, the flap 11 could put the inside of the intake cap in communication with a compressed air supply instead of connecting it to the open air.
