Method and device for automatic control with small electrical control powers. In technology there is often the task of actuating a control with small powers, in particular in the case of small deviations of a measured variable from the target value, by means of which, for example, the return to the target value takes place. Usually, the measured variable is compared with a comparison variable using a zero procedure. For example, if a target temperature is exceeded, the heating or part of it should be switched off; if the temperature falls below this, the heating or additional heating should be switched on.
Similarly, if the illuminance differs from the target value, additional lights can be switched on or off, or, when comparing light intensities, actuation of screens or filters can be requested. Also, the part that exceeds or falls below certain deviations from the target value should often be sorted out from a number of test objects. The contact instruments frequently used for this purpose have the disadvantage that with small control outputs the contact forces are too low to ensure reliable contact ensure tact.
For the same reason, their switching capacity is low. The known method for increasing the switching capacity, the pointer of the measuring instrument in.
To feel its position with a drop bar or, instead of the mechanical contact by the pointer, to bring about an intermediate contact via the exposure of a photocell controlled by the pointer or the cooling of a bolometer resistor controlled by the pointer, special instruments that are expensive and mechanical Construction are complicated.
According to the inventive method, these disadvantages can be eliminated in that the small electrical. Control services that can be supplied, for example, by a measuring sensor or obtained by comparing a measured variable with a comparative variable using a zero procedure,
are fed to an inductance and through sudden weakening of the flux in this inductance, the energy stored in their magnetic field is brought into effect as electrical energy in bursts as a control pulse.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method according to the invention, of which exemplary embodiments are explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.
In Fig. 1, the line from A to B represents part of a measuring circuit in which the zero current should flow at the setpoint value of the measured variable. AB can therefore, for example, be the zero branch of a Wheatstone bridge according to Fig. 2 or the zero branch of a current comparison circuit using photo elements according to FIG. 3 or the compensation branch of a voltage comparison circuit for temperature measurement finite
Be thermocouples according to FIG. In this branch there is generally a display instrument C to control the operating state. With. the display instrument a choke coil D is connected in series and a switch E is arranged through which the circuit _4 B can be interrupted at any periodic or non-periodic intervals. The Actuate supply of the switch B can be any drive such. B. be actuated mechanically by a cam plate F or by a thermal switch or by an electrical toggle switch.
When the circuit A B is interrupted by the switch E, an overvoltage occurs at the terminals of the Dros selspule D because the energy stored in the magnetic field of this coil is now converted into electrical energy. The cathode and grid of a current gate G are connected in parallel to the terminals of the coil, the grid voltage of which is set by a battery H so that the tube is blocked in normal operation. When the switch E is opened, the overvoltage occurring at the coil reduces the negative grid voltage of the current gate so much that the tube comes into the ignition area.
In the anode circuit of the tube, under the effect of the anode voltage taken from a voltage source J, a current flows through the actuating coil K of a relay, which can trigger any other control functions. In place of the relay actuation coil, heating resistors can be placed directly if necessary, for example if it is a question of temperature control.
To achieve regulation in both directions, the actuation circuit can be doubled in such a way that the overvoltage that occurs on the coil is fed to the grids by two current gates in opposite directions, so that the 'Lattice = tension is increased and on the other is decreased.
Depending on the polarity of the current in the zero branch A B , the current gate G or the current gate G2 is then ignited in FIG. 5 and either the control device K or the control device KZ is thus activated. K, then acts in the sense of increasing the measured variable, K2 in the sense of reducing it.
If the measuring branch A B is periodically switched off by the switching mechanism F, no actuation will follow if the measured variable is set to the setpoint value; on the other hand, if the measured variable is below the nominal value, a control process is initiated by actuating the relay K, and vice versa, if the measured variable is above the nominal value, a control process in the sense of its reduction by actuating the current gate G and the control device K2 put into operation.
A further increase in the sensitivity of this device can be achieved by adding an amplifier tube L according to FIG. 6 between the terminals of the choke coil at which the voltage occurs and the grid of the current gate at which it is to be operated is switched.
The voltage surge at the coil appears at the anode resistor M of the amplifier tube with a corresponding amplification and can trigger the desired control effect all the more reliably (or with a smaller current in the measuring branch A B) . Of course, a multi-stage amplification between coil and current gate can also be provided.
In order to prevent both current gates from responding, which could occur if the voltage occurring at the coil is periodic in time, which is normally the case, two means can be used. According to FIG. 7a, a resistor N is connected in parallel to the terminals of the coil tet, by means of which the oscillating circuit consisting of inductance and self-capacitance of the coil is dampened to such an extent that periodic processes no longer occur. Another possibility is to
according to Fig. 7v to make the grid bias of the two current gates dependent on their anode current by a cathode resistor 0. If one of the current gates is then ignited by the first half-wave of the overvoltage, the grid voltage of the other is shifted so far into the negative that the second half-wave of reversed polarity can no longer cause an ignition at the other current gate.
The deletion respectively. The control process can be terminated in a wide variety of ways. An interruption of the anode circuit of the current gates by a second contact in the anode circuit which is mechanically or electrically coupled to the interrupter and which responds with a time delay compared to the interrupter contact is preferred. The control effect takes place during the time difference between the two contacts to speak.
In the case of temperature regulation, a certain amount of heat adapted to the intended use is supplied through a heating resistor during this time; In the case of a flow control, a step-by-step switching mechanism is switched one step further by the current surge and there is an increase or decrease in the flow cross-section by an amount adapted to the intended use. In the case of lighting control, the same process switches on or off additional lighting, which remains switched on or off even after the actuation current surge has ceased.
If the next check of the state of the measured variable by again interrupting the measuring circuit AB, shows that the measured variable still deviates from the target value in the same sense, further heat is supplied by actuating the anode circuit of the same current gate again , the further advancement of the step controller by one step or the connection of additional additional lighting. However, if it shows that the measured variable deviates from the target value by less than the tolerance amount,
there is no actuation and thus no change in the value of the measured variable. If, on the other hand, the regulation has led to an override, the other current gate is now ignited when the breaker is actuated in the zero circuit and a regulating device acting in the other sense is set into action. In the case of temperature control, either the entire heating system or part of it is switched off briefly. In the case of volume control, the step-by-step switching mechanism is moved back one step, in the case of light control part of the lighting is switched off or the additional lighting switched on in the other control direction is switched off.
The interruption of the anode circuit can also be done by a switch actuated by the response of the control unit. A special breaker contact in the anode circuit of the current gates can be dispensed with if AC voltage is selected as the anode voltage for the current gates, since the current pulse is then automatically canceled at zero crossing.
The method can be adapted to the most varied of operating conditions by connecting several current gates with different grid bias voltages in parallel, so that, depending on the size of the deviation of the measured variable from the setpoint, a return to the setpoint is achieved at different speeds. Fig. 8 shows, for example, schematically a three-stage Re gel of this type.
Three current gates are provided for one current direction, G "G =, G., whose grid voltages are dimensioned so that G1 is triggered even with small deviations from the setpoint, G with larger deviations and G3 with very large ones.
Correspondingly, if the actuating relay K responds alone, only a small control pulse (small heating power, small number of steps of the step switching mechanism, small additional light sources) is switched, with simultaneous actuation of KI and KZ by G1 and G, correspondingly larger pulses. Corresponding multiplication of the control tube for the other control direction is possible in the same way.
In order to be able to set the measured variables to the desired value in the range, it is advisable to provide the following additional devices. By switching the instrument normally installed in the measurement branch to the comparison branch (the compensation EMF or the suction current), the setpoint to which the device should respond can be set as desired without the need to purchase additional instruments. Any normal instrument is suitable for this purpose, as special interventions in the instrument are unnecessary.
The setting of the tolerance range and the adaptation of the circuit to the different ignition characteristics of commercial current gates can be done in that the grid voltages of the individual current gates are designed to be controllable via known voltage dividers and by checking the ignition value and resetting the ignition value by one that can be read on the voltage divider or the tolerance ranges can be set on an instrument that can be measured. In the same way, this regulation could also take place by changing the anode voltage of the current gates.
The tolerance range can also be changed by connecting exchangeable, switchable or controllable damping resistors or capacitors to the actuating coil D in the measuring circuit. When using an amplifier tube, the tolerance range can also be brought about by changing the amplification of this tube by any means.
