Periodically operated contact device for converters or electrical machines. Means have become known to relieve mechanical switches so largely of switching fire that they can be used to interrupt currents in switches or to turn current in converters or electrical machines even with large currents and voltages. It has been shown that the magnetic drive to the switch contacts has a number of serious advantages over a purely mechanical drive, for example the avoidance of rubbing parts that require lubrication.
On the other hand, it has the disadvantage that the moving contact piece has to be connected to an iron core on which the magnetic force acts, and that this increases the moving mass of the contact piece so much that there is a risk of bouncing when switched on.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided by the fact that the moving contact piece has a rigid guide that dictates its position with respect to the fixed contact piece before it closes and that it changes into an elastic guide at the moment of closing, and that the magnet system that controls the contact movement causes, is additionally excited by the main current or contact current, so that the contact times are dependent on this current. It proves to be useful if the contact piece is pressed against a rigid support by an elastic force before it is closed.
It is also advantageous if the elastic force after closing is so great that the contact does not flutter even under load. The elastic force must be so large in relation to the mass of the contact piece that the closing takes place without flapping tern, that is z. B. the spring force should be 1000 times greater than the weight of the moving contact piece.
In the drawing, the invention is shown using an example. 1 is the moving contact piece of the smallest mass, which works together with two fixed contact pieces 2, which are one behind the other in the drawing. The lever 4 guided in a needle bearing 3 carries an insulating pad 5 onto which the moving contact piece 1 is firmly pressed by the preferably trapezoidal leaf spring 6 in the open state of the contact. Instead of mounting on needles, one in cutting edges can also be provided.
In geöff netem state, the lever 4 is raised by a spring (not shown) and pressed against the stop 7. The force with which 1 presses on 5 can be set to the most favorable value with screw 8, which prevents fluttering when switching on. To streak the contact, the lever 4 is moved downwards, 5 separating from 1 and the pressure of the spring 6 finally being increased by the punch 9, which comes to rest on 6. The fixed contact pieces 2 lying one behind the other in the drawing are mounted on insulation 10.
The movement of the lever 4 is caused by an armature 11 which is moved by a magnet system 12. The system 12 carries a coil 13 with direct current excitation. A rotating armature 14 causes the armature 11 to attract and fall off by periodically reducing and enlarging the air gap 15, as is necessary for the desired current interruption. The pivot of the bearing 3 lies exactly in the plane of the contact surface 1, so that the moving contact piece 1 sits perpendicularly on the fixed rails 2 and lifts perpendicularly from them.
The pressure point of the spring 6 lies approximately in the middle between the two contact surfaces of the guide 5 with the contact piece 1, so that 1 is securely pressed onto 5 in the open state and its position to 2 is firmly defined by the position of 5. In the closed state, 5 of 1 by appropriate setting of the stop 9 so far that when opening a blow is exercised on 1, which opens the contact safely even if it should be something welded by switching fire.
The contact pressure of the closed switch is also made coarser in that an additional excitation 1.6 of the magnet system 12 is provided, which is flowed by the load current or the contact current I dureli. This can also ensure that the contact time is made dependent in the desired manner on the contact current, which z. B. is desirable in the reversal of the current. The lever 4 is designed with a small mass in order to keep the mechanical stresses small.
The stroke of the lever 4 can be kept less than 1 mni. If the magnetic force of the system 12 changes its strength quickly enough over time, the contact duration is set sufficiently precisely even with small contact times. This can be achieved by appropriately shaping the armature 15.
In order to make the closing force and thus the contact time independent of unwanted changes in the air gaps 14 and 17, the system 12 or the armature 11 can be magnetized by the excitation 13 until saturation. For this purpose, the magnet system 12 can have a narrowing of the iron cross-section at a suitable point and so, for. B. with magnetic shunts to be built on that the excitation by the current in 16 causes a further increase in the force, while a change in the air gap 14 does not affect this force. The lever 4 can be bent in such a way that the air gap 17 is also approximately in a plane with the axis of FIG.
The invention is particularly suitable for use in conjunction with means that relieve the contacts of switchfire ent, z. B. chokes, which are already saturated with a small current, valves on the primary side of the transformer and, or .Parallel- capacitors. It can also be used to replace the usual collectors of electrical machines by arranging the individual switches in a ring on the stator and z. B. rectifies the AC voltage of the stator with their help.
You can also arrange the individual switches in series next to each other and instead of the rotating armature 14, another, in particular electrical, non-sinusoidal excitation of the system 12 attach. When the current is very large, the fixed rails 2 are artificially z. B. cooled with water so that the contact piece 1 and the whole switch can remain small.
