La fig. 1 montre un dispositif avec le ressort tendu mécaniquement par le piston du cylindre mesureur;
Volumetric apparatus for liquid under pressure.
The present invention relates to a volumetric apparatus for pressurized liquid with measuring container, containing a movable member, piston or membrane, dividing said container into two compartments supplied and emptied alternately, each stroke of the movable member corresponding to the flow rate of a determined volume of liquid. This volumetric device is characterized by a spring whose winding is caused at each stroke of said movable member and whose expansion causes the switching of the member governing the supply and emptying of the container.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example and schematically, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a device with the spring mechanically tensioned by the piston of the measuring cylinder;
fig. 2 shows a device with the spring tensioned by electromagnetic pistons.
1 is the measuring cylinder, 2 the control of cylinder 1 in the form of a four-way valve, 3 and 4 the liquid supply and abduction pipes to the control spool 2. 21 and 22 are the pipes connecting the drawer on both sides of the cylinder separated by the piston. The consoles 5 and 6 support the axes 7 and 8 on which is pivoted a spring toggle. This knee lever is made up of two parts articulated to each other at 9. One of the parts consists of an arm 10, while the other itself consists of several parts, namely the spring 11 and the two parts of head 12 and 13. These head pieces 12 and 13 comprise yokes 14 serving as seats for the spring 11.
The yokes 14 are held in their respective position by the cooperation of the hollow rod 15 of the part 12 and of the rod 16 of the part 13. On the axis 9 is articulated the connecting rod 17 in the slideway 18 of which the pin slides. 19 of the control arm 20 of the spool 2. The piston 23 is mounted idle on the piston rod 24; the latter is provided with two stops 25. A sliding rod 26 is articulated respectively to the piston rod by the pin 27 and to the toggle by the slide 28. At 30 is attached the Bowden 31 of a meter 32.
The drawing shows the piston 23 at the left end of stroke. The pressurized liquid which arrives at cylinder 1 through lines 3 and 22 pushes the piston to the right. When the piston strikes the stop 25, it drives the rod 24 with it. The rod 26 in turn drives the toggle towards a. right. The spring 11 compresses more and more until its axis is in line I-I, after which it relaxes and brings the toggle to position II. At this moment, the piston is at the end of its stroke on the right and the knee lever has overturned by tilting and by means of the connecting rod 7 the four-way spool 2. The piston begins its stroke from right to left.
Counter 32 counts each stroke of the pistons.
The embodiment illustrated by FIG. 2 has two electromagnets 33 and 34, with the cavities 35 and 36 in which the plungers 37 and 38 move. The latter are mounted on the rods 39 and 40 which are themselves articulated on their axis with two connecting rods 43 and 44. These links are articulated by means of the axis 9 with the spring toggle. The pistons 37 and 38 are connected on the side opposite to their rods 39 and 40 to rods 45 and 46 which carry the shoes 47 and 48 of the sliding contacts 49 and 50. These sliding contacts themselves are fixed on the frame of the electro- magnets 51 and 52. The measuring cylinder carries consoles 53 and 54, the eyelets 55 and 56 of which support contact plates 59 and 60 adjustable by means of screws 57 and 58.
Opposite these contact plates 59 and 60, contact pads 61 and 62 are fixed at the end of the rods 63 and 64. These rods 63 and 64 which can slide in the axis of the measuring cylinder carry discs at their opposite end. 65 and 66. Coil springs 67 and 68 are mounted between these discs and the bottoms of the cylinders. Bellows 69 and 70, which may be made of copper for example, are fixed, optionally by welding, on one side to the rods 63 and G4, and on the other to the cylinder bottoms and serve as a gasket. The electrical conduits necessary for the excitation of the electro-magnets are also provided.
The function of this embodiment is as follows: In the position shown, the liquid pushes the measuring piston 2; 3 to the right. The latter comes into contact near the end of its stroke to the right with the disc 65 and pushes the stud 61 against the plate 59 thus establishing contact and causing the closing of the excitation circuit of the electromagnet 33. The piston 37 is attracted to the right and in turn attracts the spring loaded toggle to the right. As soon as it is in the tilting position. the shoe 47 moves away from the sliding contact 49, which interrupts the circuit.
The spring 1.1 relaxes, the toggle goes into rest position on the right and the liquid is directed towards the right part of the measuring cylinder. The same clearance is repeated on the other side for the stroke to the left of the measuring piston.
Instead of a measuring piston, it would also be possible to arrange a membrane in a cross section of the cylinder, which would be easy to achieve, for example, in the embodiment of FIG. 2.
