Air conveyor system. Air conveying systems, for example those for oil firing, have the disadvantage that when the fan pushing the air into the boiler is switched off, the air duct remains open, so that even when the fan is switched off, fresh air can flow into the heated boiler and have a cooling effect. As a result, the oil furnace has to be put back into operation more quickly in order to reheat the boiler.
The present invention, which relates to an air conveyor system, in the airway of which a motor-driven fan is installed, aims to behe ben this disadvantage. This is achieved according to the invention in that a pipe closure member controlled by an electromagnet is installed in the airway, the whole being designed in such a way that when the fan motor is started, the pipe closure member automatically moves into the open position and when it is switched off in the closure position is brought.
The subject of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing in an exemplary embodiment, namely shows: Fig. 1 the air conveyor system in side view, partly in longitudinal section, and Fig. 2 the same in 'plan view, ruled out to an oil firing system.
The air conveyor system shown has an intake pipe section 1, to which the fan housing 2 is connected last teres. 3 denotes the rotor of the fan, 4 the associated electric motor, while 5 denotes the pressure connection of the fan housing.
In the air path of this air delivery system, on the air intake side, that is to say in the intake pipe section 1, there is a throttle valve 6 as a pipe closing element. Instead of piece in the intake pipe, the throttle valve can also be built into the pressure port. One shaft end of this throttle valve carries a segment-like armature 7 which protrudes into the air valve of an electromagnet 8. This elec tromagnet 8 actuates the throttle valve 6 and for this purpose is electrically connected to the electric motor 4 in such a way that when the fan 3 is started, the elec tromagnet automatically brings the throttle valve 6 into the open position.
When the engine 4 is switched off, the coil of the Mag netes 8 is also de-energized. The throttle valve 6 is designed such that it automatically returns to the closed position. The coil of the electromagnet 8 is connected in parallel to the elec tric motor 4 and is controlled by the switch 9 together with this. In front of the suction opening 10, a plate 11, which more or less reduces the latter, is mounted axially displaceably, with which the delivery volume of the air can be regulated.
If the air conveyor system described, as shown in FIG. 2, for example, is connected to an oil fire, the fresh air supply by the fan to the boiler room 12 connected to the chimney is interrupted by means of the throttle valve 6 as soon as the engine 4 is switched off. Since the engine 4 only runs when the furnace is in operation, the heated boiler room cannot be coated with fresh air and cooled down when the furnace is switched off, which results in fuel savings. If the fan is put into operation again with the aid of the electric motor 4 and thus the furnace, the electromagnet brings the throttle valve into the open position.
If the fan is driven by a water or explosion motor, etc. instead of an electric motor, the switch of the electromagnet must be in positive motion connection with the starter of the motor in question.
The throttle valve 6 or any other pipe closure element can also be arranged on the pressure side instead of on the air intake side. The air conveying system described is of course not only intended for firing systems, especially oil firing systems, but it can also be of great service for ventilation systems, exhaustors, etc., especially wherever the air must be prevented when the fan is not running.
