Luft- bezw.
Air resp. Gas separator in the course of a liquid line. The invention relates to an air respectively. Gas separator in the course of a liquid line and consists in the fact that an antechamber arranged within a main chamber is provided, which is essentially formed as an open space with a vertical axis, in which the liquid rotates around the vertical axis as it flows through.
In the drawing, an execution example of the invention is shown.
1 shows a view of a centrifugal pump with a longitudinal section through the separator; Fig. 2 shows a cross section through the main and antechamber and Fig. 3 shows a change in the shape of the cross section of the separator.
The centrifugal pump 1 is in Fig. 1 on the suction side respectively an air. Upstream gas separator 2, the nozzle 3 of which connects to the suction line 4. The fluid to be conveyed, e.g. B. water, flows in the direction of the arrows 5.
To air resp. To excrete gas from the water, an antechamber 6 is arranged within the main chamber 20 of the air separator 2 at the point of entry of the water at the nozzle 3, which we sentlichen has the shape of an open-top cylinder with a vertical axis and in which the water rotates is shared. In the room 7, the float valve 8 is arranged, which controls the air outlet from the room 7. The valve 8 is provided with a cone 9, a cone 10 and a return piston 12 working in the cylinder 11.
The line 16 is connected, for example, to a vent pump, an ejector or the like, while the line 17 is connected to the atmosphere. During operation of the centrifugal pump, the water enters the antechamber 6 tangentially as a result of the bevel 18 (FIGS. 2 and 3), the wall 18 'of which runs out tangentially and merges into the wall of the inlet line 4
so that when the water rises in the front chamber 6 towards the air space 7, a vortex with a vertical axis in the direction of arrow 19 is created. Known air separators work as overflow separators. This shape requires a lot of space because of the small water speeds that are necessary to get a good separation of the air from the water. If the speed is high, the air is entrained in the overflow separators and the operation of the centrifugal pump is disrupted.
Since the vortex 19 is now created by the tangential entry of the water and the shape of the antechamber 6, the air collects in the center of the vortex due to the rotary movement, from there it reaches the surface of the water in the main chamber 20 and collects in space 7 , from which it is sucked off by the pump connected to line 16.
While in FIG. 2 the main chamber 20 of the air separator 2 surrounding the antechamber 6 is designed symmetrically to the antechamber 6 so that the water can flow off on all sides over the edge 21 to the outlet 22, FIG. 3 only shows a main chamber 23 enlarged on one side is provided. As a result, the water flowing over the edge 21 is forced to reverse the direction in the sense of the continuation 24 of the arrow 19 shown in dashed lines.
This change in flow direction has the advantage that a higher flow rate and a further reduction of the separator 2 is possible for the same amount of water, and air residues that should still be in the water are separated out when the flow is reversed.
Before geous is the height of the partition 25 between tween the prechamber 6 and the main chamber 20 BEZW. 23 larger than the single diameter, but smaller than twice the diameter of the outlet 22, so that, on the one hand, a direct flow through the air separator 2 is avoided and, on the other hand, the flow resistance of the air separator 2 can be kept within moderate limits.
The main chamber 23 essentially has the shape of a cylinder with a vertical right axis, one wall 26 of which is in alignment with the tangentially tapering wall 18 'of the prechamber 6 and whose opposite wall 27 is curved to the wall of the prechamber 6 in such a way that that the entering liquid is deflected twice by about <B> 180 '</B> and thus describes an S-curve when viewed from above.
Ship pumps, in particular, deliver mostly impure water that must not get into the vent pump. The float valve 8 prevents the air drawn in from the centrifugal pump 1 from getting into the line 16 and thus into the vent pump. For this, it is necessary that the water level in the air separator 2 is kept at a certain height. This is achieved by the double valve 8, which allows air from the atmosphere to enter the line 16 when little air is excreted from the water. In this way it is prevented that the air is completely sucked out of the space 7.
When pumping water or other liquids through the centrifugal pump 1, the separator can also be used to separate gases or vapors instead of air. In this case, instead of air from the atmosphere, by connecting the line 17 to the pressure side of the vacuum pump, the same gas or the same vapor with a slightly higher pressure than in the line 16 would be supplied.
The liquid inlet and outlet could also be arranged next to one another in the bottom of the separator and the inlet, for example, have guide surfaces that give the liquid entering the separator from bottom to top a rotary movement. The exiting liquid would flow from top to bottom, and if necessary a simple, vertical partition would have to be arranged between the inlet and the outlet, the upper end of which would have to be at a sufficient distance below the liquid surface to be maintained in the separator to prevent disruptions in the flow of the liquid to avoid.
