Device for planting staples. The object of the present invention is an apparatus for driving staples. It is characterized: in that it comprises a firing hammer with a pin on which acts a res out with adjustable tension, this hammer being housed in a barrel mounted in a barrel consisting of: two plates and having a handle, a magazine containing a stack of staples being arranged at the front part of the barrel, these staples advancing automatically under the force of a spring, so that a staple comes into position for driving in,:
each time the hammer is cocked, which takes place by means of a trigger which, when it is actuated on its trigger, moves the hammer against the force of the spring then, the hammer having reached the end of its stroke, automatically switches to release this hammer, this trigger then being returned by a return spring to its initial position at which it again engages: the hammer.
The attached schematic drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the apparatus. Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof; Fig. 2 is a view in elevation from the front side; Fig. .3 is a similar view from the rear; Fig. 4 is a cross section along the line IV-IV of FIG. 1; Fig. 5 is a horizontal section along the line V-V of FIG. 1;
Fig. 6, is a vertical section along the line VI-VI of fig. l; Fig. 7 is a similar section - following line VII-VII of fig. 1; Fig. 8 is a plan view of the impact hammer; Fig. 9 is a plan view, and FIG. 10 is an elevational view of the trigger spring.
The apparatus shown a. the general shape of a pistol and comprises a barrel 1, in two plates assembled by the countersunk screws 2, 3, 4. In this barrel is mounted a barrel 5 in which is housed the firing hammer, on the end posterior which supports titi coil spring î housed in the barrel.
The rear part of the fry 1 has the shape of a handle 8. The hammer percuteir is in two parts, the anterior 6, shaped (the flat blade ending at its percussive part bar a rounded die following the bending (the clip, and the posterior in the form of <B> of </B> mass 10, guided in a cylindrical bore called, barrel 5.
Between this mass and the bottom box 11 of the barrel is inserted the res out 7 with adjustable tension at the level of this threaded plug 11.
To the. front part 1-2 of the barrel is fixed titi magazine 13 in which are arranged the clips 14 in a vertical stack which; iliou- t under the wool 6 of the hammer and which is pressed against the latter by titi spring 1 ::>.
The firing hammer is armed by means of a trigger 18 integral with a trigger 16 and having at its front part titi nose 17 hooking the mass 11 of the hammer and smoothing in a groove of the barrel 5.
The, gâ - cliette 18 slides in a housing. arranged between the two plates of the fîit and by cocking the hammer it compresses titi small return spring 19, arranged in the. rear part 19 'of the housing. The trigger 16 projects outwardly through a slot formed between the plates.
The device works from the. as follows: Tray 13 is filled with staples 1-1 and the machine is ready for operation. the way to plant the clip, we like the hammer with the index of the. hand which holds the handle 8, pulling on the trigger 16. The gâehet.te 18 moves the hammer against the force of the spring 7.
During this movement, the gâcliett4 is prevented from tilting by a pin 1t; ' sliding in a groove \ 3 (the crcnsé @ clans one of the plates. The nose 1 7 thus remains in prie with the mass 10. Immediately at the rear of the nose <B> 17. </B> the trigger presents a projection 17 'which, by abutting against the rear edge of the slot in the barrel 5, forces the trigger to swing.
This rocking movement, made possible by the fact that it is negating it. pin 16 'is in the widened end pa.rliv 21 (the groove 20'. disengages the nose 17 from the mass 10 and the spring 7 drives the firing hammer forward, the latter driving in front of it the staple came to be placed in front of the snap 9 of the hammer blade 6. If now the index lets go.
de tent 16, the spring 19 brings the trigger 18 forward, a groove 1 <B> W </B> hollowed out in the mass 10 giving passage to the nose 17 during this return movement of the trigger. At the moment when the trigger 18 returns to its initial position, a trigger spring 2 () acts on it to bring the nose 17 back into engagement with the. mass 10.
the necessary tilting movement of the trigger at, this moment being made possible by the fact that for this position of the trigger, its pin 16 '<I> is </I> located in the enlarged front part 21' (the la groove 20 'The appliance is ready to operate again.
To strike several blows on the same clip, in order to push it in, if the first stroke was not sufficient, a screw 23 of the ma gasin 13 makes it possible to stop the advancement of the clips. This prevents the upper clip (take it out of the magazine when the hammer recedes.
The apparatus described can be carried out in several sizes, depending on the size of the staples.
In an apparatus for large caliber staples, the barrel may include in addition to the handle, an extension in the form of a butt (the rifle. The coil spring could be replaced in the case of large caliber staples, by tin are with adjustable tension acting on the hammer in the manner of the arc of an arm.
The apparatus described renders valuable services for fixing electrical equipment, equipment (radio, wire, iron wire, wire mesh for roof fences, etc.
