Doppeltwirkende Zweitakt-Brennkraftmaschine.
Double-acting two-stroke internal combustion engine. In double-acting two-stroke internal combustion engines, air is fed to each cylinder side of the cylinder, either through common slots or through special, piston-controlled slots that are connected to one and the same air supply line. Due to the unequal shape and volume of the cylinder sides, as well as the unequal piston speed during purging, this has the disadvantage that the purging air flowing into them under one and the same pressure is not able to produce a satisfactory purging effect at the same time on the cylinder sides.
If the flushing pressure is selected so that the cover side of the cylinder is flushed out well, then the flushing in the crank side is insufficient. Conversely, the flushing effect in the lid side is unsatisfactory when the flushing pressure is adapted to the crank side. With an intermediate flushing pressure, the flushing effect is insufficient in both cylinder sides.
With the present invention in machines in which the air is supplied to each cylinder side of the cylinder through special slots, the elimination of this objection was intended. The invention consists in that the slots on one side of the cylinder and the slots on the other side of the cylinder are each connected to an air supply line and in each air supply line at least approximately the pressure that results in the most favorable flushing effect in the relevant cylinder side is maintained. What is achieved thereby is that the fresh air charge of the working cylinder consisting of unequal cylinder sides increases without the aid of other air inlet organs in accordance with the better flushing.
It is advisable to switch off the air and fuel supply on the crank cylinder side, which operates with less fuel consumption than the cover side, when the machine load is lower, and thus not only to reduce fuel consumption, but also to reduce the service life of the piston rod, the stuffing box and the more sensitive lower cylinder deck due to its complexity - increase kels.
If the scavenging air to be supplied to one cylinder side is compressed separately from the scavenging air to be supplied to the other cylinder side, the pressures in the two air supply lines can be set independently of one another if they are to be regulated according to the machine load, which is an advantage , since the ratio of the purge air pressures that is most favorable for the two cylinder sides changes with the load.
A particularly simple design is that the scavenging air supplied to the two cylinder sides is compressed by the two piston sides of a double-acting piston compressor.
The scavenging air can also be compressed in two stages in such a way that the entire amount of scavenging air is compressed to an intermediate pressure by a compressor, while the remaining compressions of different levels for the two cylinder sides take place separately.
Likewise, the entire scavenging air can be compressed to the lower of the scavenging pressures required on the two cylinder sides and the scavenging air for one cylinder side can be compressed even further.
In machines with exhaust gas turbine supercharging, the exhaust gases from the two cylinder sides are expediently discharged separately from each other into a special exhaust gas turbine guide apparatus. Since the quality of the scavenging effects in the two cylinder sides is not only dependent on the scavenging pressures, but also on the exhaust counter pressures, the result is that the exhaust counter pressures can be adapted to the different high scavenging pressures.
For each cylinder side, an exhaust gas turbine fan, in particular, which supplies the scavenging air can be provided, as a result of which the self-regulation, which characterizes the machine provided with exhaust gas turbine supercharging, is fully utilized.
When working with the exhaust gas turbine charging machines, it may be desirable to operate one of the cylinder sides, especially the lower one, taking into account their thermal and mechanical stresses with a smaller load and thus a smaller amount of air, and for this purpose the exhaust gases from the cylinder sides separate from each other and lead only the exhaust gases from one cylinder side of the exhaust gas turbine. Furthermore, the machine can be designed in such a way that the supply of scavenging air to one side of the cylinder is prevented with the aid of a shut-off element and the cylinder side can be shut off completely.
As an embodiment of the subject invention, an injection engine is shown schematically in the drawing.
1 is the working cylinder and 2 is the piston of a double-acting two-stroke internal combustion engine, of which the upper and lower air inlet slots with 3 respectively. 4, the upper and lower outlet flashes with 5 respectively. 6, the upper and lower cylinder cover with 7 respectively. 8, the piston rod with 9, the stuffing box with 10 and the crank mechanism with 11, 12, 13.
In order to be able to operate both the upper and the lower cylinder side with the scavenging pressure that results in the most favorable scavenging effect, the operating air is fed to the working cylinder by a double-acting piston compressor 14 driven by the internal combustion engine, the cylinder sides of which are 151 and 15s through separate pressure lines 161 and 162 are each connected to a cylinder side of the combustion cylinder, supplied in such a way that the lower cylinder side receives air from a different voltage than the upper cylinder side.
17 is the piston, 18, 19, 20 the crank gear, 211, 212 are the suction ports, 221, 222 the suction valves, which can be kept open by means of levers 311, 312, and 231, 232 the pressure valves of the piston compressor. The purging air to be compressed is fed to the compressor 14 in a pre-compressed state through a line 24 from a centrifugal compressor 25 sucking in from the atmosphere, which is driven by an exhaust gas turbine 26 directly.
The shaft 27 of the exhaust gas turbo fan is provided with two turbine impellers 281 and 28s, which receive the exhaust gases from one side of the combustion cylinder through separate lines 291 and 29s via the control devices 301 and 30s. This ensures that the exhaust counterpressures of the two cylinder sides can be adapted to the different high scavenging pressures of the same in such a way that the quality of the scavenging effect on both cylinder sides, which is dependent on the scavenging pressure, is at least approximately the same as the exhaust backpressure.
