Raschlaufende Kolbenmaschine.
Rapid piston machine. The invention relates to a high-speed piston engine, in particular a superheated steam piston engine, and consists in the fact that the piston running with play in the cylinder, by no elastic means such as piston springs or the like, comes into contact with the cylinder wall on its circumference with such labyrinth grooves it is provided that the seal between the piston and cylinder wall is made by throttling and swirling, the whole thing for the purpose of being able to run the piston without lubrication
to keep the working fluid flowing out of the machine oil-free. The cylinder wall can also be provided with labyrinth grooves. The guide of the piston is expediently outside the cylinder.
Is it a piston with respectively through the cylinder bottom. The piston rod going through the cover, the latter and the bushing surrounding it can also be provided with a labyrinth seal. The subject of the invention is illustrated in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows a high pressure - hot steam piston engine in section, Fig. 2 is a partial section on an enlarged system scale.
The working cylinder 1 is attached to the frame 3 provided with a crosshead beam 2. The working medium enters the cylinder 1 through the cover 4 and, after the piston 5 has exposed the connection between the working cylinder 1 and the space 0, flows through the line 7. The piston 5, the piston rod 8 and the cross head 9 together form a body which is guided by the cross head track 2 and the bush 10, which can consist of two parts.
The diameter D of the cylinder wall of the sleeve 11 (Fig. 2 ) is greater than the diameter d of the piston or. of the piston liner 12. Labyrinth grooves 13 are turned into the piston liner 12, through which throttle cross-sections and vortex spaces are created alternately.
The throttling taking place between the piston liner 12 (diameter d) and the cylinder liner 11 (diameter D) and the eddies occurring in the grooves 13 generate a flow resistance through which the seal between the working cylinder 1 and the vapor outlet space 6 is sufficient. To increase the seal between the spaces 1 and 6, the Zylin derbüchse 11 is also provided with 14 labyrinth grooves.
Instead of being shown in the drawing, the grooves 13 and 14 can also be formed by appropriately designed annular disks lined up next to one another.
Piston rods, which respectively through the Kol benboden. go through the piston cover can also be provided with labyrinth grooves on their periphery in such a way that a seal is created by throttling and swirling. In other cases, the sleeve of the piston rod or even the piston rod and the sleeve can be provided with labyrinth grooves.
The invention can also be used for pumps, compressors, etc. in the same way as for prime movers, and offers the advantage that neither the piston nor the piston rod, if it is continuous, need to be lubricated, which makes it possible to keep the working fluid flowing out of the machine oil-free.
