Process for the production of a new nitrogenous basic product. It has been found that valuable products are obtained if the aliphatic polyamines are allowed to act on compounds which already contain one or more acylamine groups, such as, for example
EMI0001.0004
Groups are already formed. These bodies react with the polyamines, splitting off ammonia.
The proportions of the components to be brought into action on one another can fluctuate within wide limits, but with the restriction that the condensation products formed still have a basic character.
The number of possible connections is very large. For example, the following may be mentioned, without the compilation claiming to be exhaustive: Oxamide, nitrogen-containing derivatives of carbonic acid and thiocarbonic acid, such as urea, thiourea, their alkyl or aryl compounds, biuret, carbazide, semicarbazide, guanidines, guanylurea and biguanide ,
Alläntoin or pyvuril, the various urticaric acids and ursides Substances which, in addition to amide groups, also contain acylating or alkylating groups include, for example, the following: urethane, ursic acid esters, guanidocarbonic acid esters, allophanoic acid chloride, biuretic carbonic acid chloride, chloroacetylamides, etc.
The action of carbon disulfide on the polyamines and subsequent heating also creates bodies with a similar effect.
In many cases it is not necessary to produce these compounds in their pure state, but the technical raw materials obtained during their production can be used directly for the conversion: The present patent now relates to a process for the production of a new nitrogen-containing basic product, characterized in that a polyethylene diamine mixture that boils from 90 to over 350 C at 15 mm is heated with a biuret.
The new product is a stiff syrup that is soluble in water with an alkaline reaction. It forms insoluble lacquers with water-insoluble dyes, so that it can be used as an aftertreatment agent to improve the waterfastness of dyeings that are produced with substantive dyes on cellulosic material . It should also serve as an intermediate product for the production of other dyeing auxiliaries.
Example: 14.6 parts by weight of a polyethylene diamine mixture that boils from 90 to over 350 C at 15 mm are mixed with 3.5 parts by weight of biuret and slowly heated to 1350 C with stirring. The mixture is stirred for a further 5-6 hours at 135-140 ° C. After the reaction has ended, which takes place with elimination of ammonia, the mixture is cooled and the reaction product is obtained in the form of a stiff syrup.
If, instead of the pure biuret, about double the amount of a raw biuret obtained by introducing chlorine into urea at 140 to 1500 C according to the information in the literature (cf. A. 303, 95 note) is used , which still contains various by-products, one arrives at the same product.
