Zadeyerdiehter with exhaust gas turbine. With pressure-fired steam generators. in which the fuel-air mixture is supplied by a charge compressor and this is driven by an exhaust turbine, which receives its energy from the heating gases, #; t. Just as with internal combustion engines, which are charged by exhaust gas turbine-driven Ladenver densely, can usually be taken away from a special regulation of the gas turbine compressor set distance.
The amount of air required for a certain load on the steam generator or the internal combustion engine is set automatically by, for example, when the load decreases, the control device of the steam generator or motor sets the fuel pump to a lower delivery rate and thus an increased excess of air with initially unchanged air volume occurs, which has a lowering of the exhaust gas temperature result. This in turn causes a reduction in the power of the turbine, as a result of which its speed decreases. The compressor now delivers less air, so that the exhaust gas temperature can increase again, but the performance of the gas turbine remains reduced due to the reduced exhaust gas volume.
If the load increases, the process is reversed. Each load on the boiler or the engine therefore corresponds to a certain speed of the C asturbinenverdichterschutzes. In order to ensure that the operation remains economical, the mixing ratio of air and fuel should also remain as unchanged as possible over wide control ranges. This assumes that the speed, pressure and flow rate of the compressor and the power output of the gas turbine meet very special conditions.
It has now been shown that the conditions set can be met almost completely if the exhaust gas turbine geared compressors are used as multi-stage axial compressors for the applications mentioned. The course of the pressure volume curve of a multi-stage agial compressor with blade profiles similar to the wing deck is namely (in the vicinity of its best efficiency) significantly steeper than the course of conventional radial compressors (FIGS. 1 and 2).
If the resistance of the amount of air to be moved changes with initially unchanged speed of the compressor, the axial compressor (Fig. 1) can apply a significantly higher pressure than under the same circumstances with the radial compressor (Fig. 2) because of the significantly steeper course of its pressure volume curves without the delivery rate changing significantly. As the combustion chamber, hot gas pipes and gas turbine nozzles in the pressure-fired steam generator, as well as the working cylinders.
Valve openings, pipelines and gas turbine nozzles in the supercharged internal combustion engine generally represent so-called constant openings and therefore resistance and flow rate comply with almost the same (parabolic) law as the delivery pressure and delivery rate of the turbo compressor with constant efficiency, so gas turbine and Compressor, as mentioned at the beginning, automatically adjust to the appropriate speed and air volume.
Even with partial loads, the operating point that is established remains close to the curve of best efficiency when the compressor has been working at the best point at full load. This is illustrated by the following, for example, in the figures. The abscissas show the delivery rates V, the ordinates the delivery pressures P of the compressor. The curve ven 9. and 13 show the pressures as a function of the flow rates for different speeds n of the compressor; curves 77 are the curves of equal efficiency.
The pressures and delivery rates also follow almost the same curves when the compressor works at a constant opening with changing speed. If the compressor is now dimensioned in such a way that it achieves the best efficiency at normal output and normal speed, it will generally also be used at other speeds. other loads on the steam generator or the internal combustion engine do not differ much from the efficiency line passing through the normal point.
However, it can happen that the resistance in the system changes accidentally or for certain operational reasons (for example with a different temperature profile in the steam generator or in the internal combustion engine, contamination etc.), so that the legal relationship between pressure and delivery volume is disturbed. If, in this case, a compressor is used with the characteristic, which is mostly peculiar to centrifugal compressors, that runs flat (Fig.
so there is usually already a small deviation ng -1 p of the resistance in the system or The resulting delivery pressure of the compressor results in a considerable change in the delivery volume (J1-. The amount of air that is now available for combustion is no longer in accordance with the amount of fuel that is set for the load in question, see above that the mixing ratio is unfavorable, but at the same time it also changes the amount of exhaust gas, so that the performance of the gas turbine can be adversely affected.
These serious disadvantages can now be remedied according to the invention by using multi-stage axial compressors for the special operation such as that offered by pressure-fired steam generators and supercharged internal combustion engines, the characteristics of which can be designed in such a way (Fig. 1) that even with relatively large changes in resistance in the System, that is to say larger changes in delivery pressure 4p of the compressor, result in very small changes dv in the volume.
The deviations in the amount of air from the legal Ver run are then only very small, and the mixing ratio in the combustion chamber of the steam generator or in the cylinders of the internal combustion engine can also be kept fairly constant. The possibility of an imbalance between the compressor and the gas turbine is also reduced.
The multi-stage axial compressor also offers a particular advantage for the above-mentioned applications in that it makes the drive particularly economical thanks to an overpressure turbine. The specific speeds of both machines are the same, so both machines can run at their most favorable speeds and can be coupled without the need for a gearbox. The option of using any number of steps also allows larger slopes to be processed. In the case of the action bikes, which have hitherto been used almost exclusively for exhaust gas turbines, larger gradients were usually caused by great embarrassment that such gradients were usually too large for one wheel but too small for two wheels.
The t @ overpressure turbine. which can be built cheaply in any axial expansion, allows the most appropriate stepped dimensioning much more easily.
In the case of a single-ended gas turbine and a single-ended compressor, both rotors are expediently switched against one another so that special pressure equalization is superfluous. Whoever uses the two compressors, as is required, for example, with separate compression of air and gas, the gas turbine is expediently made double-ended. This type of construction is all the more advantageous here since the amount of exhaust gas to be processed in the turbine corresponds to the amount of gas from both compressors.
