Device on compressors, in particular rotary piston compressors, for automatically starting the same empty. The installation of automatic idle start-up devices in compressors allows to start with a low torque and thus to dimension the starting device tightly.
Similar devices are already known, but they have the disadvantage that the start-up valve does not come into effect when the compressor is first started up.
The present invention relates to a device on compressors, in particular rotary piston compressors, for automatically starting them empty. According to the invention, an automatically acting empty start-up valve is provided which, when the machine is at a standstill and during start-up, closes the suction nozzle due to spring pressure.
After starting, the valve opens under the influence of the negative pressure on the suction side and is kept open during operation due to the overpressure on the pressure side. The invention therefore has the advantage over the known designs that the valve is closed when the machine is started for the first time, so that, for example, there is no risk of damage to the electric starter, which is only rated for the no-load starting current.
Furthermore, if for any reason, for example due to a leak in the compressor or a line, the generation of the vacuum in the suction nozzle or the pressure in the pressure nozzle should not occur, the valve automatically separates the pressure side from the suction side.
In the drawing, three execution examples of the subject invention are shown schematically table.
In Fig. 1 , 1 denotes the compressor. The valve 2 is kept closed by the spring 3 when the machine is at a standstill and is controlled by the piston 4. The space 5 above this piston is in connection with the part 7 of the suction nozzle through the line 6 . When starting up, a vacuum is generated in these two spaces 7 and 5 , which influences the piston 4 and opens the valve 2. The valve should only be opened when the machine has reached full speed. A corresponding delay can occur in a number of ways.
For example, if you connect room 5 to the atmosphere or the suction side 9 with the pipe 8 and allow atmospheric air to flow in, they allow Throttle valves 10 and 11 any regulation of the venting time in room 6. The valve only moves when a certain vacuum is reached. The air compressed in the pressure chamber 12 flows during the idling time of the compressor through the circulation line 13 and the overflow valve 14 back into the Sang line 9 . After valve 2 has opened, the vacuum in the suction nozzle drops and the valve would close again due to the spring pressure.
In order to prevent this, the space 15 under the piston 4 is connected by the line 16 to the pressure side of the compressor, so that the pressure keeps the valve open during operation. In many cases it is advantageous to take the pressure at a suitable point 17 in the compression space at which the desired pressure level is available.
In order to avoid the rapid opening and closing of the valve and the associated stress and relief surges, the valve can be influenced by pressurized oil, as illustrated in Fig. 2, for example. For this purpose, an intermediate container filled with oil is placed in the compressed air line 16 and in the suction line 6 each 18 and 19 switched. When the compressor starts up, the 01 is transferred from the space 5 to the container 18 due to the negative pressure in the line 6 > sucked, so that the piston 4 lifts and the valve 2 opens.
In this case, pressurized oil from the container 19 which is connected to the pressurized air line 16 is used to keep the valve open. The arbitrary delay of the valve movement can take place by throttling the oil flow by means of a cock 20 or 26. The empty starting device described can be combined very easily with a built-in power regulator on the suction side of the compressor, which closes the suction port when a certain pressure is reached in the pressure line and causes the compressor to idle.
Fig. 3 shows, for example, such an embodiment. The auxiliary control 21 connects the lines 6, 8 and 22 with one another, so that the start-up state described above is reached. If the pressure in the pressure connection 23 and in the line 24 increases too much during operation, the auxiliary control 21, which is loaded by a weight 25, is raised and it is lifted the lines 6 and 8 are terminated, while at the same time the line 24 is connected to the line 22 and the room 5 . The pressure in space 23 then acts on the upper side of piston 4.
As a result, the valve 2 closes and remains in the idle position until the pressure in the connecting piece 23 has fallen so far that the weight 25 is able to lower the auxiliary control again. The valve then opens again, as it did during the start-up period.
