Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, quelques formes d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention. Les fig. 1 et 2 sont des vues en éléva tion et en coupe d'un raccord en forme deT destiné à établir la communication entre la conduite générale d'alimentation des appareils de frein et un branchement relié à ces appa reils, l'élément filtrant étant intercalé dans ce raccord; Les fig. 3 et 4 sont des vues analogues aux fig. 1 et 2 d'une variante d'exécution comprenant un robinet d'isolement du filtre;
Filtering device for fluids under pressure. The invention relates to a filtering device for fluids under pressure, enabling the removal of solid or liquid particles from said fluids, for example the removal of dust or humidity suspended in the air. used for the operation of pressurized fluid brake devices.
The device according to the invention is characterized by a filtering element intended to be passed through normally by the fluid to be purified, in combination with diverting means established to allow the automatic passage of the fluid to be purified through to the device without passing by the filter element, when the latter is at least partially clogged so as to impede the relatively free passage of the fluid through it.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, some embodiments of the object of the invention. Figs. 1 and 2 are elevation and sectional views of a T -shaped connector intended to establish communication between the main supply line of the brake devices and a connection connected to these devices. reils, the filter element being interposed in this fitting; Figs. 3 and 4 are views similar to FIGS. 1 and 2 of an alternative embodiment comprising a valve for isolating the filter;
Figs. 5 and 6 are analogous to FIGS. 3 and 4, but the isolation valve is of a different model; Figs. 7 and 8 are elevation and plan sections of a simple embodiment of a fitting including a filter.
In fig. 1 and 2, it can be seen that the body 1 of the connector comprises a pipe 3 terminated by two pipes 2 which serve to connect sections of the general pipe (not shown in the drawing). The body 1 also comprises a pipe 4 on which is connected a pipe communicating with the triple valve or other distributor system to admit therein the pressurized fluid coming from the general pipe. The tubing 4 communicates with a chamber 5 at the lower part of the connector and this chamber is closed by a threaded plug 6. An annular binding collar 7 is arranged in the chamber 5 and a coil spring 8 is interposed between this collar and the plug. 6, while a seal washer 9 is applied to the collar 7.
The washer 9 is thus normally pressed by the spring 8 against a ring 10 embedded in the body 1 of the fitting and thus the chamber 5 has communication with the upper part of the fitting only through the central opening 11 of the collar 7 .
The filter comprises a cylindrical box 12 with a lower rim turned inward on which rests a perforated disc 14. A rimmed collar 15 is applied to the upper edge of the box 12 and a second perforated disc 16 is interposed between the collar and the edge. of the box. This box contains the filtering material 13, for example composed of hair or bristles, and a slight spring 18 is interposed between the collar 15 and a shoulder 19 made in the orifice of the passage, 20 going to the duct 3.
The lower edge 13 of the box 12 rests on the seal washer 9 resting on the collar 7 and a passage 21 establishes the communication between the passage 20 and the space which surrounds the box 12.
The device described operates in the following manner As long as the filter material 17 allows the normal flow of air, the filter occupies the position shown in FIG. 2 and the air circulation can take place freely in one direction or the other between the duct 3 connected to the general pipe and the tubing 4 connected to the devices to be supplied by the step 20, the perforated disc 16, the wire mass 17, the perforated disc 14 and the chamber 5.
. In the event that the filter media 17 is totally or partially clogged with dust or moisture in the air so as to provide serious resistance to the passage of air, the box 12 of the filter media is raised or lowered.
If the air pressure at the pipe 4 is greater than the pressure of the pipe 3 communicating with the general pipe, the pressure of the chamber 5 exerted on the disc 14 and the clogged filter material 17 lifts the box 12 by compressing the slight spring 18. The edge 13 is then detached from the washer 9 and the air arriving through the pipe 4 into the chamber 5 passes through the passage 21 from where it arrives in the passage 20 and to the pipe 3 connected to the general pipe without passing through the filter material 17.
If, on the other hand, the pressure of the general pipe exceeds the pressure of the pipe connected to the tubing 4, the pressure of the general pipe in the passage 20 exerted on the perforated disc 16 causes the box 12 to ash. , which drives the collar 7 by compressing the spring 8. The washer 9 is then lowered at the same time as the box and it is detached from the ring 10, the air coming from the general pipe through the duct 3 arrives at the pipe 4 by the wise pitch 20 and the annular passage 21 without passing through the filter mass 17.
By unscrewing the cap 6, it is easy to remove the box 13 and clean or replace the filter mass 17.
In the variant embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the connector 1 is provided with an isolating valve arranged at its upper part. This valve comprises a rotary valve 22- with ports 23 and moves on a seat 24 formed in the connector 1; this seat comprises lights 25. The rotary valve 22 is held on its seat 24 by the spring 26 and it is controlled, for its rotation, by a rod 27 whose lining is held by a stuffing-gland screwed into the upper body 1. The rod 27 of the rotary valve is controlled by an operating handle 28.
The control connection between the rod 27 and the valve 22, which is not shown in the drawing, can be of any kind, provided that it allows a relative axial movement between 22 and 27 while ensuring that a rotation of 27 causes a corresponding rotation of 22. For example, the rod 27 could have a projection penetrating into a notch of 22.
When the rotary valve 22 is in the open position, as shown in fig. 4, the passage 20 following the duct 3 connecting to the general pipe communicates freely through the openings 23 and 25 which correspond with the upper face of the perforated disc 16 of the box 12 containing the filtering mass 17. In the case where the filtering mass is clogged, the filter operates as described with reference to fig. 1 and 2. When the handle 28 is turned so that the slots 23 and 25 no longer coincide, the communication is entirely cut off between the conduit 3 connected to the general pipe and the tubing 4 connected to the triple valve.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the isolation valve comprises a key 29 crossed by a slot 30 and operable by a handle 28. Depending on the position given to this handle, the key 29 allows or cuts the communication between the conduit 3 connected to the general pipe and the space above the box 12 enclosing the filtering mass 17. The operation is the same as in the previous examples, a free space being, as in these last rriers, left between the box 12 and the internal wall of the body. tap.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 7 and 8, the box 12 and the cooperating parts are the same as those previously described and they are enclosed in the body 31 of the connector; the space below the box 12 communicates with the tubing 32 connected to the supply duct.
In the upper part of the body 31 of the connector is disposed a mandrel 33 provided at one of its ends, along its axis, with a channel 34 which communicates by a channel which is oblique 35 with the space above the box 12 containing the filter mass 17. The man drin containing the channel 34 is externally threaded to allow it to be connected to the apparatus (not shown in the drawing) which must be supplied with pressurized fluid, while the supply duct of the fluid is connected to the tubing 32. The mandrel 33 is held in place by a collar 36 and a cap 37 screwed to the end of the mandrel 33.
If desired, the cap 37 can be replaced by a fitting which makes it possible to connect a pipe going to a second device to supply fluid under pressure and, in the latter case, the channel 34 is extended over the entire man drin length 33.
