Device for the currentless placement of an electric iron connected to a cord tensioner on an iron base. The subject of the present invention is a device for currentless to put an electric iron connected to a cord tensioner on an iron base, a switch being housed in the cord tensioner base with isolated parts that mediate the disconnection,
the outside in the path of a movable by the weight of the iron support plate of the iron base rich, such that the iron causes an automatic shutdown by placing on the support plate.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is illustrated, for example, namely Fig. 1 shows a side view of the cord tensioner attached to a flat board together with a pedestal with the iron set up in the switched-off position and Fig. 2 is a partially associated top view. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section through the cord tensioning base on a larger scale and Fig. 4 is an associated cross section, while Fig. 5 is a partially associated side view with a locking device.
The cord tensioner 1 of any construction is clamped with the help of its base 2 on the platen 3 (see Fig. 1) and the preceding pedestal 4 is connected to a circuit breaker in such a way that the current is switched off when the pedestal 4 is placed by a Iron 5 is charged.
The off switch is located in the base 2 of the cord tensioner. This base consists of a sleeve 6 made of any desired, advantageously but non-conductive material, for example molding compound, and is closed at both ends by inserted insulating pieces 7. The sleeve can BEZW for easy control of the switch device. Replacement of their parts consist of two halves. A sleeve 8 for guiding the contact pin 9 is fastened to the lower insulating piece 7.
The latter carries a transverse pin 10, the outwardly protruding ends of which are provided with a thread, for receiving insulating sleeves 11 which are guided in longitudinal slots of the sleeve 6. The contact pin 9 is under the action of a helical compression spring 12, which on the one hand lies against a flange of the guide sleeve 8 and on the other hand against the cross pin 10. Under their influence, the contact pin 9, which is connected in a suitable manner to the one lead wire, is brought into contact with the plug-in sleeve 13 arranged axially to it. The latter is tightly inserted with its upper end into a transverse opening of an insulating disk 14 secured in the sleeve 6.
The upper end of the sleeve be seated a transverse opening 15 for receiving the lead wire 16, which is secured by a central screw 17 of the socket 13. The over the circumference of the receptacle 13 in front of protruding wire parts prevent at the same time that the latter can slide out of its retaining disk 14 and thus act as a safety device.
On the outside of the sleeve 6, an arm 18 is also loosely rotatably attached to a cross pin, the free end of which is designed as a hook or. has a since union transverse slot 19 (see Fig. 3 and 5) which is dimensioned so that it is in the A.bb. 5 to place the contact pin 9 over the one protruding isolated end of the transverse pin 10 and thus to hold the contact pin in this position against the action of the helical spring 12.
In this position, the cord tensioner can be kept permanently disconnected from the electrical line and the iron 5 is in any position on the base ge (see FIGS. 1 and 2).
Instead of being locked by the arm 18, the cross pin 10 can also be held in the lower switch-off position by turning the latter slightly, which is made possible by corresponding lateral recesses 20 which branch off from the longitudinal slots of the sleeve 6.
In order to be able to flatten further, the arm 18 respectively. brought the cross pin 10 except a grip position and placed the iron across the base, as indicated in Fig. 2 dotted. In this case, the contact pin is pushed into the plug-in sleeve 13 by the helical spring 12 and thus contact closure is generated, so that heat is again supplied to the iron.
If you want to switch off the power for a short time while plating, you place the iron on a resiliently supported shelf 21, which is connected to the base 4 in an articulated manner.
Under the weight of the iron, the cross pin and contact pin 9_ ent against the action of the compression spring 12 ge lowers and .that the circuit is bifnet. According to the position of the protruding pin ends 11, you can immediately determine whether the contact is present or not and, if necessary, without first having to remove the iron, you can switch off by hand and do the same if desired by turning the arm 18 or Turning the cross pin 11 to make a permanent.
In order to create the possibility of preventing overheating, the iron can also be equipped with a temperature indicator in a manner known per se, which indicates that a maximum temperature has been reached by means of a light or audible signal.
