Spielzeug-Gleitflieger.
Toy glider. The subject of the invention is a toy glider, of the known type in which the wings can be folded backwards like an arrow in order to launch the glider and spread automatically during flight.
In the drawing, an execution example of the subject invention is Darge provides.
Fig. 1 is a side view of the same; Fig. 2 and 3 is a plan view with respectively folded back. outspread wings.
The drawn toy glider be sitting a longitudinal double shaft made of two parallel, spaced one above the other flat rods 1, the menheld only at the rear ends in any way and at the front end of a screw? interspersed and connected to one another by these. A triangular stabilizing surface 3, for example made of celluloid, tapering to a point towards the front (left) is arranged immovably between the rods 1, resting on the upper rod. Two wings 4 and 4a are mounted one above the other under the stabilization surface so that they can swing around the screws 2. The wings 4 and 4a are preferably made of celluloid, but can also be made of other materials.
Their plan shape can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3; at the front they each terminate in a point and, when spread out, are bent slightly backwards at the outer end. In the rearwardly folded position of the wings 4, 4a, their tips cover each other and with the tip of the stabilizing surface 3 (FIG. 2). In order to keep the wings during the upward flight of the glider in the folded back position, a bracket 5, the legs of which are formed into eyelets, on an extension 6 of the upper rod 1 is arranged slidably ver.
The extension 6 is. Formed from a wire, the front end of which is designed as a ring eyelet in order to prevent the fact that the easily rotatable and displaceable bracket 5 can slide off and be lost. The rear ring eyelet 5a of the bracket 5 is dimensioned so large that it can encompass the tips of the two wings 4, 4a, the stabilizing surface 3 and an extension pin 7 arranged at the front end of the bar 1 below.
A ball weight 8 can be displaced on the web of the bracket 5 (as Gien has the purpose, M = uring the upward flight. That is, during the upward throw and in the ascending path of the glider, the bracket 5 with the eyelet 5a on the tips of the wings 4 and 4a , and to keep the stabilization surface 3 lying, to give the flyer a little overweight at the front end, and after the glider has passed the apex of his trajectory and is in a position inclined slightly forward, the bracket 5 quickly forwards to push and thereby release the wing 4, 4a.
So that the wings spread immediately after their release, they are each under the influence of an elastic pulling element 9, for example a rubber strand, which at 10 on the upper and respectively. attached below rod 1 and connected at the front end with a double cord 11 which passes through a hole 12 in the front end part of the wing concerned. A second cord 11a is passed from the rod 1 through the hole 12 around the rear edge of the wings 4, 4a. The cords 11, 11a limit the front end position of the wings when they are stretched.
On the un tern or upper rod 1, a hook 13 is fastened, in which, for example, a loop of cord attached to a throwing rod can be hung. With one hand the closed glider is held at the rear end of the stick: 1, 1 and with the other hand the throwing stick is held and the sliding finger is thrown upwards like an arrow. As soon as the tip of the glider lowers, the ball weight 8 glides on the bracket web and then the bracket 5 forwards, so that its eyelet 5a release the tips of the wings 4, 4a, whereupon they swing sideways and the glider glides downwards slides.
All parts of the toy flyer described are interchangeable and can be replaced with new ones if damaged. Since the bracket 5 can be loosely rotated on the extension wire 6, it hangs vertically downwards in every position of the glider in flight and acts as a stabilizer In contrast to known games of this type, the folded-back wings remain flat and do not form folds or air sacs, as is the case with gliders with fabric wings, which is why they offer no noticeable air resistance when the glider is launched.
Since the wings are not made stiff by spars, i.e. they are easily flexible, they bend slightly upwards during flight, so that the center of gravity of the glider comes to lie below the horizontal pressure medium level and experience has shown that the glider tilts even with relatively strong gusts is avoided.
