Device for attaching a seal skin to a ski. The present invention relates to a positive -dis for fixing a sealskin to a ski.
This device is characterized in that it comprises a flexible band partially surrounding the wood of the ski, and the free ends of which are provided with members which can be surrounded by a cord, so that by pulling. on said cord, it brings together -de these organs and in that at least one of them is formed so as to pe = rmit the immobilization of the free end of the cord.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of a positive device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross section of a ski provided with the device for fixing the skin (the seal as well as said skin; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the device of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a section similar to that (Fig. 1, but showing another embodiment of the device. In Fig. 1, 1 is the ski wood and the sealskin which must be fixed below. Said skin is fixed, for example by sewing it, to a flexible strip 3 which partially surrounds the wood of the ski.
At its two free ends, this band carries two metal members 4, having a convex part 5 which is turned against the flexible band. These two bodies are fixed on (last quote by, rivets 6.
If one surrounds the two members 4 as shown in the -dessin by a cord ï, it is possible, by pulling on this cord, to bring about an approximation in the direction of the arrows F of the organs 4, and, by. therefore, a tightening of the band 3 around the wood of the ski, - ec which has. the effect of securely fixing the sealskin to the latter.
The special shape of the members 4 means that the traction exerted on the free end 8 of the cord engages the latter between said clips and the band 3. The cord thus tightened cannot come loose from itself without the cord. we act on the free end 8 in the direction of arrow G, with a view to detaching it.
In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the fasteners 9 and 10, fixed by rivets 11 to the free ends of the strip 3, each have a hook 12. The member 1.0 also has a part 13 forming a relatively small angle with the strip 3. when the latter is in place on the ski. By passing the cord 7, the hooks 12 are brought closer together, consequently the band 3 is tightened around the ski, and by passing the free ends 1 4 of the cord between 13 and the band 3, this is immobilized. end by the jamming that occurs at this time.
The cord will be untied by removing the free end & below. part 13 of. body 10.
It should be noted that by sealskin we mean real sealskin as well as products fulfilling the same purpose and generally sold under that name.
Strip 3, which has been shown as , one th piece, can also be made up of two pieces sewn together or sewn to the edges of the sealskin. This band can be made of any fabric or of leather or rubber.
The cord can be a simple string or a braided cord or even a leather cord.
