In diesem Falle beträgt dir.
Magnetic material containing nickel and iron. The invention relates to a nickel and iron containing magnetic Ma material and to a method for producing this material.
The material according to the invention is characterized in that the change in permeability within a flux density range of at least 200 C.G.S. units is less than 15 5%.
According to the primarily intended method for producing the material according to the invention, the range in which the permeability can be made practically constant by suitable treatment is increased by adding cobalt in an amount of approximately 5 / o to un about 85% is attached.
The demand for a magnetic material with a practically constant permeability for small 3, magnetic forces has been sought for a long time, and it has been found that in a magnetic material containing nickel and iron, the degree in which the permeability remains constant can be increased when the material is assembled according to patent no. 119563 and subjected to the heat treatment described there.
Such an alloy exhibits a constant permeability up to a flux density of approximately 150 C.G.S. units.
According to the present invention, this area can be increased significantly and, if only moderate permeability is required, it can in fact be extremely large, while it is somewhat smaller if a relatively high maximum permeability is required at the same time.
The material according to the invention shows, however, still further properties; which, depending on the various uses of the material, can be changed to a large extent by appropriately changing the composition, so that one or the other can be emphasized with regard to the use of the material without affecting the most important property, namely the Permeability constancy, is lost within the specified range.
One of these other properties is, for example, the absence of any hysteresis losses that are practically considered within the flow density range that can be used for telecommunications equipment. It was also shown that the hysteresis losses, the remanence and the coercive force with the material according to the invention are small even at higher flux densities.
As mentioned, these properties can be obtained by the process of this invention by adding cobalt to an alloy of nickel and iron, more than is usually present in commercially available nickel. In the further description, some are described in detail, for example, compositions of the magnetic material and its properties. To produce a material with an initial permeability 400, which value is practically constant for magnetizing forces of 0 to 2 Gauss, the following implementation of the method is provided.
An alloy of approx. 45% nickel, approx. 25% cobalt and approx. 30% iron, which, if desired, can contain up to approx. 5% 1 @ tangan as an addition, is prepared by melting the individual components in an induction furnace. High-quality materials that can be bought by hand can be used for this. The molten material is poured into rods or ingots, which are then processed into the desired shape by rolling, drawing and forging in the die.
The processed object is then subjected to an annealing process in which the temperature is approximately 1100 ° C. A special type of implementation of this annealing process is as follows: A crucible of any shape made of a chromium-nickel-iron alloy is filled approximately up to halfway with the objects to be annealed. The crucible is then covered with a lid and the latter is covered with a layer of iron filings, whereupon the crucible is placed in an electric furnace, the temperature of which should be about .900'C .
After about 90 minutes, the temperature of the contents of the crucible is increased to about 1100 ° C. and kept at this level for 70 minutes. The material is then left to cool in the oven and cooled so that it reaches a temperature of 350'C in a cooling time of 180 minutes, whereupon it is cooled to room temperature at any desired rate allowed to cool down. This process was used to produce the materials whose magnetic properties are graphically shown in FIGS. 1 to 9 of the accompanying drawings.
If the initial permeability of the material in the crucible is to be higher than in the process just mentioned, after cooling to about 350 C it is heated to about 725 C and then cooled to 350 C, the cooling being regulated so that the material will reach the desired temperature in about 1 to 3 minutes. The material is then cooled to room temperature at any desired rate. This method increases the initial permeability, but reduces the magnetization force range, in which the permeability is constant.
If the initial permeability is to be even higher, the material is recently heated to around using the annealing process. 725 and then quickly cools it down to room temperature. In this case, the initial permeability is increased even more, but the range of constant permeability is reduced even more, and there is also a certain tendency to increase the hysteresis losses at low field strengths.
In the attached drawing, B. Il and, a represent the magnetic flux density beziv. represents the magnetizing force and the permeability in C.G.8.-units.
1 to 4 show characteristics of a material with 45% nickel, 25% cobalt and 30% iron with 0.5% manganese, which was added to increase the machinability, the material being used to generate a maximum area with constant permeability first described process has been subjected to.
The curve in FIG. 1 already indicates the great constancy of permeability for small magnetization forces.
From Fig. 2 it can be seen that the initial permeability of this particular material is about 460, and that its permeability hardly changes noticeably with magnetizing forces of up to about 2 Gauss. FIG. 1 also shows that the material has the high flux density of 1500 C.G.S. units with a magnetizing force of 45 Gauss.
The curve in FIG. 3 shows the hysteresis loop for a maximum flux density of approximately 500 C.G.S. units. As can be seen, the hysteresis losses are so negligibly small that the loop appears as a straight line.
Di e Fig. 4 shows the hy steresis loop e (a) of the improved material at a maximum flux density of about 600 lines of force per cm \, as well as the hysteresis curves of silicon steel (b) and Armco iron (c).
This figure clearly shows that the material produced in accordance with the present invention, in contrast to the other materials mentioned, at least, in practical terms, has no hysteresis losses.
The curve in Fig. 5 relates to a composition of approximately 60% nickel, 15% cobalt and 25% iron.
In this case you are. Initial permeability 631 and changes up to a root density of 700 C. G.8.-units not. One of 70 nickel, 1.5% cobalt and 15! Existing iron composition has an initial permeability of 390 and changes up to inductions of 200 C. Cxr. S. units do not.
The curve in FIG. 6 relates to a composition which contains approximately 73.3 nickel, 6% cobalt and 20.5% iron, as well as 0.2% manganese and has an initial permeability of full 1430 and up to Inductions of 715 CGS units showed no significant change in permeability. The maximum: permeability is around 5600 with a magnetizing force of 1.1 Gauss.
A composition of approximately 20 nickel, 50% cobalt and 30% iron shows a negligible change in permeability at magnetizing forces of 4 Gauss, which in this case produce a flux density of 450 C.G. S. units.
The curve in FIG. 7 relates to a composition of approximately 50 nickel, 30% cobalt and 20% iron, which has an initial permeability of 231, which remains constant up to a value of B =: 716 or II = 3.1.
FIG. 8 relates to a composition of 10% nickel, 70% cobalt and 20% iron, which has a constant permeability 57 and negligible hysteresis losses in the flux density range up to 225.
The improvements achieved in terms of the permeability constancy with the various materials prepared according to the preceding process can be seen in FIG. 9, in which the maximum flux density as the abscissa and the percentage. Change in permeability is plotted as the ordinate.
In this figure, curve f shows for ordinary iron of good commercial quality, curve e for an iron-nickel alloy according to Patent No. 119563, curve d for the material of FIG. 5, curve c for the material of FIG. 6, curve b for the material of Fig. 2 and curve a for the material of Fig. B.
It can be seen that if a relatively small permeability, for example the permeability 57, is required, according to the present invention a material can be produced whose permeability remains constant over a very large range.
It emerges from the above that the iron content in all of the compositions discussed is 10 to 410%. Such compositions have small or completely negligible hysteresis losses for values from B up to 500 or 10 () 0.
Each of the compositions mentioned above can contain small quantities of manganese, be it as an impurity or that this has been added to the material to increase the workability. Chromium or other substances can be added to the material to increase the specific resistance and for other purposes.
A characteristic feature often shown in the material according to the invention is that the use of a strong direct current or a large magnetizing force acting in one direction, which is then reduced to a low value, increases the permeability for superimposed, weak alternating magnetizing force considerably.
In a particular case where a unidirectional magnetizing force of 25 Gauss is applied to a 45% nickel composition. 25% cobalt and 30% iron was applied and then removed, an increase in the initial permeability from 45 to 750 was found.
The magnetic properties of the materials produced according to the invention suffer changes when the latter are mechanically stressed, and measures are therefore regularly taken before these materials are used to avoid excessive mechanical stress.
The # Llateria.l according to the invention (or special types of the same) is particularly suitable for the production of coil cores, as well as for punctiform and distributed loading of telecommunication conductors for deep sea and overland telephony or. Telegraphy, be it for low-frequency or carrier-frequency currents, of loading coils for combined telephone and telegraph systems,
Transmitter coils or transformers, in particular feed coils, coils for wave filters, relays, dynamo machines, electromagnetic high-frequency devices, magnetic circuits of electrical measuring instruments, etc.
To prepare the material for uniform loading of conductors, it is usually first shaped into a thin baud and then rolled into a flat spiral. The thickness of this spiral, that is, the width of the band, can be 3.1.75 mm. The inside diameter may reach 7.62 cm and the outside diameter 8.89 cm.
The annealing is carried out in the manner described above, and if the initial permeability is to be increased at the expense of the range in which it is constant, a is after the annealing. Appropriate rewarming process is used in which the coil is heated to 725 C and then cooled in fresh air.
The desired properties can also be given to the magnetic material for uniformly loaded telecommunication conductors by first applying the loading material to the conductor, whereupon a coil formed from the conductor with a suitable diameter is placed in a sufficiently large furnace according to the one described above Process is treated with heat.
