Driver's switch for electric railways for controlling motor-driven step switchgear. A distinction is made between two systems for remote control for electric railways with motor-driven main rollers through which the speed levels are set.
With one, the driver is forced by operating regulations or by mechanical locking of his switching device to only shift this device forward in steps; with the other, he is free to set the gear he wants to drive with on his switching device from the outset, and the main shift drum is automatically moved in stages until. the level set on the driver's switch has been reached. The latter is also referred to as the self-driving switchgear, and this is what the present invention relates to.
The following switching movements occurring in the driver's cab must be carried out without errors by the step switch: 1. Switch on, from N7u11 to any driving position, 2. Switch to higher driving speed,, 3. Switch back to lower travel speed, 4. switch off to zero, 5. switch on and switch off again immediately before the multiple switch has completed its switch-on movement.
Step switchgears have already been built in which the five switching occurrences mentioned were handled properly. So far, however, there has been no simple and therefore all the more reliable solution. We essential feature of such controls is that the driver switch is driven by the step switch until it has reached the manually set step and thus a relative zero position in which the switch motor of the step switch turns off automatically.
This known switching principle is implemented according to the invention in the simplest way by a differential gear, of the three wheel systems of which one is connected to the guide crank, the second to the control motor switch and the third is connected to the stepping mechanism.
In the embodiment, which is shown in the drawing in part in a perspective side view, two wheel systems of the bevel gear differential are rigidly connected to one of two concentric shafts.
A third concentric shaft carries the switch contacts. On the inner solid shaft o sits the handwheel p of the operator, the gear wheel d of the differential gear and the detent disk k. The center hollow shaft q is rigidly connected to the opposite, coaxial bevel gear e of the differential gear, on which a roller lever f be that engages in the fork lever g is fastened. The third, outer hollow shaft consists of two independent parts r and s which can be rotated loosely on the shaft q, of which r carry the switching contacts a and s the changeover contacts b.
The two parts r and s are coupled to each other by a towing device i, while part r is connected to the fork lever g by a coupling rod h. The housing c containing the planetary gears of the differential gear is driven via a self-locking worm t from the step switch ii, which in turn receives its drive from the control motor u.
This has in a known manner two field windings v, W for Vorbezw. Reverse rotation and is switched on and off by the magnet 7n by means of switch 1, which at the same time controls the latching device x. On the handwheel p a pointer is arranged -v, which shows the desired position of the tap changer, while the pointer y connected to the differential housing c corresponds to its actual position.
The operation of the device is as follows: If the operator turns the handwheel p from zero to a driving position, then, since the housing c is held by the worm t, the bevel gear e rotates in the opposite direction as that with the handwheel shaft o connected bevel gear d. The roller lever f connected to the wheel e by the hollow shaft q is swiveled out to the other side by the same angle as the pointer z on the handwheel indicates.
The fork lever g is rotated to such an extent that one of the two switching surfaces a electrically connects the brushes, which belong to the circuit of the switching magnet m , through the intermediary of the coupling rod h.
Since the shaft r of the switch a carries the entrainment device i for the shaft s of the switch b, this is also moved into its on position when the switch a is turned, under the conditions made in the position for Forward running of the control motor, the field winding v of the same is switched on. By energizing the magnet 7n, the switch 1 was closed and the pawl disk x was unlocked.
The motor? C begins to run and rotates the shaft of the step switch n from step to step until its position corresponds to that which the operator has set with the handwheel p.
Since the 'step switch n is coupled to the differential housing c by the worm gear t, the housing c is set in rotation when the step switch is turned.
Now, however, the handwheel shaft o is held in place by the detent disk k, as a result of which the hollow shaft q is driven again by the worm gear via the planetary gears of the housing c and the wheel e, namely in a direction opposite to the switch-on direction. As a result, the roller lever f moves back, comes back into a grip with the fork of the lever g and thereby switches off the switch a by means of the rod 1a.
The magnet m is de-energized, the switch l opens the circuit of the motor u, and the step switch comes to a standstill in the position prescribed by the driver switch. The pointer y of the Ge housing c is moved up to the pointer z of the handwheel p. .: s There is now the ._: # 2 status that the step switch n is in the prescribed driving position.
The switch a is switched off while the drag switch b remains in the on position. If the driver now switches on further speed levels, only switch a is closed and, if step switch n has lagged, it is interrupted again.
When switching off, i.e. when turning the handwheel p) back, switch a is also switched on, this time the other of the two contact pads, but switch b switched over, whereby the control motor u is switched on via its return field winding w and therefore runs in the opposite direction of rotation.
In any case, the control motor only runs until the actual pointer y has reached the position of the target pointer z. Therefore, the operator can easily turn the handwheel further than intended, and if the step switch has not yet followed, turn it back to a lower position or to zero.
The great simplicity of the driver's switch can be seen above all from the fact that only five switch brushes are required, which slide on only four contact surfaces (a and b), and that the use of the drag switch (i) and fork lever (f , g) a particular accuracy of the setting is unnecessary.
For practical driving, a direction switch and, if necessary, a special brake switch are connected to the driver's switch. In addition, for reasons of operational safety, a quick switch-off can be provided, which is to be operated independently of the driver's switch.
