Luftpumpe.
Air pump. Air pumps are already known, in particular for inflating pneumatic tires, which have two working cylinders of different diameters and a control device that influences the inlet valve of the larger cylinder, through which the pump is automatically controlled when working, so that both cylinders work at the same time first and last the smaller one works alone. With this arrangement, however, the intended purpose, namely achieving the most uniform possible loading of the pump during the entire pumping process, was not achieved.
A better solution to this problem is now to be achieved with the pump according to the invention in that when the pressure rises, the smaller cylinder is first shut down and the larger one works alone, before the switch to the smaller one and shut down of the larger one takes place. As a result, the pumping process, for example when pumping up a pneumatic tire, is divided into three, instead of just two, stages as before, so that the load on the pump or the drive motor is more uniform.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely shows: Fi, g. 1 shows a pneumatic pump in vertical section through the crankshaft, and FIG. 2 shows a side view of the pump with a section through the control device; 3 and 4 show, on a larger scale, details of the control device in a view and in section, respectively, and FIG. 5 is a plan view of this.
In the pump housing 1, two working pistons 2 and 3 are arranged side by side, where the first has a larger diameter than the latter and which are driven from the crankshaft 4 mounted in the pump housing. The entire design of the cylinder, working piston, crankshaft and their storage is the usual in pump construction and therefore a description of the individual units is superfluous.
The inlet valves 5 and 6 and the outlet exhaust valves 7 and 8 are inserted in the cylinder cover Yes, all of which are spring-loaded valves of the usual type. The outlet valves 7 and 8 both open against the common pressure channel 9a in the attachment 9. At the outer end, the attachment 9 has an annular shoulder 9b on the underside, in which a tube 10 is inserted, which is screwed in at the lower end by a plug 11 from is closed (Fig. 2).
The tube 10 is surrounded by a concentric sleeve 12 with cover 13, which is pressed against the attachment 9 by a head screw 14 that passes through the cover and is screwed into the plug 11 so that a tight compressed air chamber 12a is formed. Parallel to the tube 10, a narrower tube 15 is inserted into the attachment 9 as a continuation of the pressure channel 9a, which protrudes down to close to the cover 13. In the tube 10 a sealed piston 16 is inserted, the piston rod 17 of which passes upwards through a bushing 18 screwed into the attachment 9.
Between the sleeve 18 and the piston 16 is. a return spring surrounding the piston rod 19 inserted, the tension of which can be regulated by moving the sleeve 18, which has a square head to facilitate the rotation at the top. A narrow bore 10a in the wall of the tube 10 connects its interior with the chamber 12a. The latter contains several filters 20, a threaded, upper outlet opening 12b for connecting the pump hose and an oil drain cock 21.
At the upper end of the piston rod, a pawl carrier 22 is clamped, in which a pawl 23 is mounted which is pivotable about a horizontal axis and which is held in the rest position by a spring 24, whereby it rests horizontally on the pawl carrier. The attachment 9 has a bearing eye 9e in which an axis 25 is rotatably mounted.
At one end it carries a locking arm 26 with ramp 26a, which normally assumes the position shown in Fi, g.1, that is to say rests against the flank of the pawl carrier 22 so that it protrudes into the path of movement of the pawl 23. Am At the other end of the axis 25 a wagon beam 27 is attached, which at its ends coaxially with the rods of the inlet valves 5 and 6 of the pump cylinder carries the set screws 28 which can press on the valves.
A spring 29 placed between the left arm of the Wa.gebal- kens and the attachment 9 on the latter strives to pivot the balance bar clockwise and holds the flank of the pawl carrier 22 pressed against it by the locking arm 26. Here, the balance beam is horizontal, that is, in the central position in which none of the two screws 2, 8 presses on the valve in question, as shown in FIG. 1.
The function of the described pneumatic pump is as follows: As soon as the pump is working, the compressed air flows out of the outlet valves of both cylinders. Through the pressure: channel 9a and the pressure pipe 15 into the chamber 12a and through the filter into the pump hose. At the same time compressed air occurs through the Boh tion 10a of the pipe 10 under the; Piston 16 and slowly lifts it, compressing the spring 19.
The locking arm 26 is in this case on the flank d'es rise to the pawl carrier 22 until the pawl 23 abuts the same and pivots it. Now the left arm of the balance beam 27 lowers against the spring 29, so that the adjusting screw 28 of the same .das Einl.assventil 6 constantly depresses. As a result, the larger cylinder now continues to work on its own until the pawl 23 has passed the locking arm 26 as the piston 16 continues to rise (FIG. 4).
Now, the spring 29 presses the balance beam into the opposite swivel hub, in which the adjusting screw 28 on the right, as valve 5 depresses, so that now only the small cylinder continues to work, whereby the power requirement of the pump must not exceed the permissible 31a-ss over strides.
As soon as the tire is inflated and the pump hose is also released so that atmospheric pressure prevails again in the chamber 12a, the piston 16 slowly sinks back into the rest position under the action of the R.üekführfe@der 19. The pawl 23 in FIG. 4, the position shown in dot-dash lines is pivoted and consequently passes the locking arm 26.
The adjustable sleeve 18 allows a change in the pump action.
