The lead to the temperature equalization between two medals. The present invention is a device for equalizing the tem perature between two media, with at least one of the one of the media flowing through and the other in countercurrent rinsed vessel whose jacket wall forms pocket-shaped bends to increase its surface area.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawings in longitudinal section, and in Fig. 2 in cross section along the line S-S of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 shows a variant.
The device shown has a vessel A, the jacket wall of which forms eight pocket-shaped.Au.sbiebgungen such that the cross-section of the vessel A (Fig. 2) is given the shape of a star. This shape gives the vessel a large surface that is suitable for heat transfer, with little space requirement.
The vessel A is. also surrounded by an outer envelope E, which consists of a heat-permeable material. A medium flows inside the vessel, which enters from above through tube B and exits from below through tube C. Between the envelope E and the vessel A, a second medium which washes around the vessel A is now passed through.
The temperature equalization between the media is increased by the fact that they move in countercurrent.
The medium flowing through the vessel A may need to be heated or cooled so that its temperature increases or decreases. If the medium in the vessel A is to be heated, steam, hot water, smoke, exhaust gases or the like can be used for this purpose.
The symmetrical arrangement of the pockets allows the same heating or cooling of the medium flowing through the vessel A everywhere, whereby the medium is forced to be distributed over all the pockets of the vessel. Each pocket is influenced in the same way by the medium flowing around it on both sides. Because the pockets run parallel to the direction of flow, there is little resistance to the passage of the media.
The vessel A could also be built into a smoke outlet (chimney); this does not have to affect the draft in the same since the pockets lead the smoke, so that eddy formations of the same are reduced.
3 shows the cross section of a vessel A composed of two separate elements, in which the subdivision of the vessel results in an even greater enlargement of the surface area.
