Description
Seilklettersehloss.
Rope climbing lock. In mountaineering, the need to be able to comfortably climb the mountain rope with an auxiliary device has long emerged without being completely satisfied until now. Some of the hook and loop arrangements designed for other purposes (e.g. building purposes) are so extensive and difficult, and sometimes so cumbersome or dangerous to use that they could not even be used for the intended purpose, but they are entirely suitable for mountain sports are unsuitable.
By using the known frictional locking elements such. B. wedge clamps, eccentric clamps, toggle clamps and the limited mobility of the same in connection with a specially trained lock housing, a new type of rope climbing lock has been created that can be quickly applied with one hand or at any point on an untensioned or tensioned mountain rope can be removed.
When using two such rope locks, in whose hooks, eyes or the like rope loops for the mountaineer's feet can be hung, you can climb up the mountain rope step by step with little effort and also places where the mountain rope is tight (jagged rock) or there is even a cut (crevasse edges).
In Figs. 1 to 3 an embodiment example of a rope climbing lock with wedge clamps according to the invention is shown, namely in Fig. 1 in elevation, in Fig. 2 in section a-b, in Fig. 3 in section c-d. The cable lock housing e is laterally slotted so that it can be applied to or removed from any point on the continuous cable strand f similar to a hand bent like a clamp.
The clamping jaws g and lt are accommodated in the housing and delimited by pins and guided so that they can move.
