Internal combustion engine with exhaust gas turbine that drives a charge pump. The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas turbine, which latter drives a charge pump. According to the invention, the shaft of the exhaust gas turbine and the charge pump is connected to the machine shaft by a hydraulic transmission device, such as B. a hydraulic hitch ment or a fluid change and reversing gear connected.
A hydraulic change gear enables a change in the speed of the drive shaft of the gas turbine and the charging pump with respect to the machine shaft. In the case of engines for high-altitude flying machines, for example, this enables the power of the exhaust gas turbine to be regulated in accordance with the charge pump output which is dependent on the altitude of the flying machine.
In the drawing, the subject invention is shown in two exemplary embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows a two-stroke oil engine; Fig. 2 shows an aircraft engine with a supercharger.
According to Fig. 1, the exhaust gases from the two-cycle oil machine 1 are passed through the pipe 2 into the exhaust gas turbine 3, give off this energy to the impeller 4 and go through the pipe 5 into the open. The gas turbine is designed in a manner not shown with controllable application, so that it works as favorably as possible in the various operating states.
On the shaft 10 of the exhaust gas turbine, the impeller 11 of the charge pump 12 is arranged, which sucks in atmospheric air through an inlet nozzle 14 that can be throttled in a manner not shown and presses it through the line 15 of the machine 1.
The Schövungrad 25 of the machine be seated a ring gear 24 and is in a grip with the gear 23 of an intermediate shaft 28, which carries the hydraulic Föttinger coupling 30. One paddle wheel, 31, of the Föttinger coupling sits firmly on the shaft 28, the other is firmly connected to the gear 22 loosely mounted on the shaft 28, the latter being connected to the gear 20 through the intermediate gear 21 on the shaft 10 stuck.
By coupling the shaft 10 to the machine shaft, it is achieved that the gas turbine cannot burn out.
The Föttinger coupling is particularly suitable for the purpose before, since the coupling of the shaft 7.0 of the exhaust gas turbine and the charge pump with the 11lascliiiienwelle can be released by emptying it.
In reversible internal combustion engines, e.g. B. for ship propulsion, the exhaust from the engine is expediently released directly into the open air for reverse travel and the exhaust turbine is switched off so that the charging pump is only driven by the engine. Your blading is expediently designed so that it works in both directions of rotation.
Instead of the Föttinger coupling, a hydraulic change and reversing gear could also be used.
Xaeh Fig. 2 drives. the combustion machine 40 by means of a fluid change gear 41 with continuously variable transmission, a shaft 42 with a propeller 44 at one end and a gear 45 at the other end. The gear 45 is in engagement with a gear 46 which is fixed on the shaft 50 on which the impeller 51 of the exhaust gas turbine 52 and the impeller 53 of the charge pump 5-1 be fastened.
This sucks in atmospheric air through a connection 55 and presses it through the pipe 56 to the carburetor 57 of the machine, the exhaust gases of which are turned through the pipe 58 into the exhaust gas turbine 52, from where they exhaust through the connection 59.
