EMI0002.0023
woraus folgt<I>f 1 =</I> (b <I>- f)</I> (a <I>- f).
Es gilt darin nach Fig. 7 f''=[(1) -x)-(f-x)J f(a+x)-(f+x)] fl=(v-f) <I>(a-<B>f).</B></I>

Process for rectifying distorted photographic recordings. The invention relates to a method for distorting distorted photographic recordings.
When photographing from a balloon, from an aircraft or from an elevated position at all, obliquely against the terrain, one obtains images that are distorted compared to images taken vertically downwards. In order to reshape such pictures in such a way that all dimensions, regardless of the direction in which they are tapped on the picture, appear in the same scale, they must be subjected to a conversion.
According to the invention for this purpose the positive is exposed in strips through a narrow slit, while the lens, the negative and the positive are shifted in the direction of the optical axis in relation to each other so that the positive is sharp everywhere and is similar to the object recorded .
In the drawing, a device for performing the method according to the invention is shown. Using this device, the method is to be described in the following as an example.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the A direction, Fig. 2 is a plan. with the omission of sliders that respectively the negative. Lens wear; 3 shows a cross section through the underframe of the device; 4 to 7 are sketches for the development of the mathematical formulas forming the basis of the device.
A turntable 2 with a pitch circle divided into degrees is rotatably arranged on the underframe 1 of the device. With her a guide rail 3 is rigidly connected to the. On the guide rail 3, a slide 4 is arranged. With the slide 4 is rotatably connected by the pin 5, a second slide via G, which is guided on a guide rail 7. This guide rail 7 is rigidly connected to the slide 8. The carriage 8 is arranged displaceably in the longitudinal direction of the subframe 1 on the subframe. The guide rail 7 is directed perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sub-frame.
A screw spindle 9, which is rotatably but axially immovable in the guide rail 3, engages in a nut (not shown) that is firmly connected to the slide 4. This screw spindle can be rotated by means of the handwheel 10. The rotation results in a displacement of the slide 4 on the guide rail 3. During this shift, the guide rail 7 and thus the carriage 8 is taken along in the longitudinal direction of the sub-frame. At the same time, however, the second slide 6 moves on the guide rail 7. The screen 11, which is equipped with a narrow, vertical slot 12, is attached to the slide 6.
As a result, the water screen takes part in the transverse displacement of the slide 6.
Behind the screen, on the carriage 8, there is a carriage 13 which can be displaced normal to the longitudinal direction of the frame. The cassette 14 is attached to this carriage, in which the positive 15, i. H. a light-sensitive plate or film is received, specifically in such a way that this positive is located directly behind the screen 11. The cross slide 13 is rotatably attached to a slide 16 which is guided on a guide rail 17. This guide rail 17 is attached to a second turntable 18 with a pitch circle divided into degrees; which is rotatably connected to your base 1. The direction of the guide rail 17 can therefore be adjusted.
It determines the transverse displacement of the carriage 13 in relation to the longitudinal displacement of the carriage 8 and thus the transverse displacement of the positive 15.
On the underframe 1, the lens 20 is fixedly fastened in a manner not shown by means of the bracket 19, namely the bracket 19 bridges the carriage 8 so that the movement of the carriage 8 is not hindered by the bracket.
The underframe 1 carries, displaceable in its longitudinal direction, a second slide 21. On this longitudinal slide, a cassette 22 is attached, which is intended to receive the negative 23 to be rectified.
Behind the cassette 22 a lighting device 27 is attached.
The two carriages 21 and 8 each carry a bolt 24. These bolts extend through the longitudinal slots of the legs of two angle levers 25 articulated on the frame 1 by means of the bolts 26 in such a way that the two angle levers are coupled together by the bolts 24. The legs of the angle lever 25 include a right angle. The levers 25 cause the cassette 22 to be displaced in the direction away from the objective and vice versa when the viewing center 8 and thus the cassette 14 are displaced in the direction towards the objective 20.
The distance of the bolts 26 from the connecting line of the pivot bolts 24 is equal to the focal length of the lens. Furthermore, when the levers are in the central position, the distance between positive and negative is four focal lengths. The angle lever 25 in conjunction with the pins 24 and 26 act as a result that there is always a sharp image.
If a is the distance between the negative, b is the distance between the positive and the screen and f is the focal length of the lens, the equation applies
EMI0002.0023
from which it follows <I> f 1 = </I> (b <I> - f) </I> (a <I> - f).
f </I> is therefore the mean geometric proportional between the lines (b <I> - f) </I> and (a <I> - f). </I> Since the height of this right-angled triangle is the mean geometric Is proportional to the hypotenuse, this equation is fulfilled when the angle levers 25 are mounted at right angles and at a distance f from the optical axis and when the pins 24 from the positive respectively. Negative have the distance f (Fig. 6).
The angle lever 29. can, if structural reasons require it, as in the Ausfüh approximate form according to FIGS. 1 to 3, along the axis, for example, by a distance x parallel to shortening the connection of the negative with the next pin to himi 24 and extension of the connection between the positive and the pin 24 lying next to it by the distance x or vice versa.
According to FIG. 7, f ″ = [(1) -x) - (fx) J f (a + x) - (f + x)] fl = (vf) <I> (a- <B> f). </B> </I>
The ratio of the longitudinal and transverse displacements of the various moving parts of the device to one another is determined by the setting of the guide rails 8 and 17. The angle between the guide rail 3 and the optical axis is (1. The angle between the guide rail 17 and the optical axis Ax be r.
When recording from the airplane (FIG. 4), the earth E is mapped onto the negative IV in such a way that the images of straight lines are again straight lines and that the straight lines on the negative N correspond to the parallel straight lines on the earth , cut in the straight line D, which stood in the distance d from the optical axis is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
The movement of negative N, positive P and slot b '(FIG. 5) causes each point of the negative to be imaged when it is on a plane R and that each point of the positive is exposed when it is is on a level Q. One can imagine that the negative first projects onto the plane R parallel to the optical axis, that this is then imaged by the objective onto the plane Q and that this is finally projected onto the positive at the angle r of the slide guide of the positive to the optical axis is projected.
Both when projecting the negative onto plane R and when projecting from plane Q onto positive P, lines normal to the plane of the drawing are mapped with the same length, while the lines parallel to the plane of the drawing are lengthened or shortened in the same ratio .
As a result, when mapping plane R to plane Q, in which straight lines on R again have a straight line on Q for the image, the points of straight line D of the image of the horizon on the negative must move to infinity, i.e. H. the straight line D must lie in the focal plane F of the objective 0 in the image, D * is the line of intersection of this plane with the plane R, and the plane Q must be parallel to the plane Y through the objective 0 and the straight line D *.
From this it follows for the inclination ss of the plane Q and thus for the angle between the guide rail 3 and the optical axis from FIGS. 4 and 5:
EMI0003.0043
where a is the focus of the camera on your aircraft, a is the inclination of the optical axis to the earth during the recordings and f is the focal length of the projection lens.
If the slot were angeord net in the negative, its slide guide would have to form the angle with the optical axis, which represents the inclination of this age to the plane R. From FIGS. 4 and 5 follows
EMI0003.0049
Well, this is the reduction that the lines on the R plane, which are normal to the plane of the drawing and at least extend through the optical axis, experience in the case of the image on the Q plane.
Is the condition 1 respectively. 2 is fulfilled, then parallel lines on the earth E are again mapped as parallel lines on the plane Q, and it is only necessary that the scale of the map in the direction of the plane of the drawing is equal to the scale normal to the plane of the drawing so that the image of the Is positively similar to Earth E. This is effected by moving the positive across the optical axis on a slide, the guide of which forms the angle r with this axis.
4 and 5 results for the scale of the figure normal to the plane of the characters
EMI0003.0063
As a result, the line corresponding to the line on the earth under the optical axis must be <I> fit "</I> on the positive <I> P </I>
EMI0004.0001
From Fig. 1 and 2 follows:
EMI0004.0003
Here, m 'means the reduction that a strip of the negative normal to the character plane at a distance h' from the optical axis undergoes when imaging on the positive.
From Figs. 4 and 5 is
EMI0004.0007
The two values of la "equal to each other; whets, results for
EMI0004.0009
The rectification of an image with the device is provided is fully equip in the following way The guide rails 3 and 17 are set in the angles ss and r to the optical axis, which result from the above formulas based on the known angle or the angle to be determined from the distortion a result. Then the screw spindle 9 is rotated until the slide 4 and with it the slot 12 and the carriages 8 and 21 are in the end position shown.
The negative 23 is now placed in the cassette 22 in such a way that the axis of symmetry of the negative lies horizontally in the apparatus and the side of the image that was most reduced when the image was taken is at the back. At the same time, for example, a photosensitive plate 15 is placed in the cassette 14 and the light source is activated. By slowly turning the handwheel 10, the slot 12 is then passed away at a uniform speed over the positive. The cassette 14 with the positive is displaced forward transversely to the optical axis in FIG. 1 and in the direction of the optical axis towards the objective.
The cassette 22 with the negative 23 on the other hand only moves in the direction of the optical axis and moves away from the objective. The transverse displacement of the slot has the effect that new, immediately adjacent strips of the negative, which cannot be displaced in the transverse direction, are always shown on the positive, while the opposite transverse displacement of the positive causes the light rays to always strike new strips of the same. In this way, strip by strip of the negative is projected sharply and in the correct magnification onto the positive, so that the image produced on it has the same scale measured in all directions.
It goes without saying that either the negative or the positive and the objective can be moved in the direction of the optical axis, while the other part, the positive or the negative, is not moved in the direction of the optical axis.
Furthermore, the negative and the positive can be placed perpendicular to the optical axis and on the one hand parallel in opposite directions to each other transversely to the optical axis, on the other hand in the direction of the optical axis are inevitably moved while the narrow slot is pushed transversely to the optical axis ver.
Finally, the negative or the positive could also be inclined to the optical axis, for example at the angle which the optical axis forms with the earth during the recording. If a negative inclined in this way were arranged in a stationary manner, the positive and the slot then expediently arranged in front of it would have to move transversely to the optical axis and the positive, the slot and the objective in the direction of the optical axis. The movements could again be inevitable.
In all of these cases, all movements could be carried out automatically by a motor.
