Abstract
The present invention is a skate blade for hockey skates with an improved modified form factor. In this invention the blade is manufactured to have more blade height at the rear of the blade compared to the front of the blade with different degrees of blade height available depending on preference. This invention allows a skater to achieve the desired angle of pitch without customization of a standard blade.
Description
DESCRIPTION
BACICROUND OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to an ice skate blade with a pre manufactured forward pitch, lean or lie as opposed to the traditional flat lie.
The technical problem that this invention is directed to solve is of devising an ice skate blade that has the correct lie right off the shelf with an easily interchangeable blade assembly that currently exists in most existing and new skate models. The problem most consumers have with current blades is the blade lie is too flat causing the skaters posture and skating position to be too far back on the heals, reducing quickness, speed and agility. The only solution has been to "profile" a new skate blade with a skate sharpener by grinding off a random amount of steel off the front of the blade to hopefully obtain the desired pitch. Some are successful, others take many attempts and some never get the preferred pitch.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This problem is solved according to the invention in that the tilt of the axis on the blade is changed during manufacturing to provide more steel at the heel and less at the toe of the blade thus creating more forward pitch. Various blades with different pitch angles are pre cut and available off the shelf and are easily interchangeable by the consumer with no tools and designed to fit current skate designs. The purpose is to shift the weight of the skater from the heels more to the toes creating a more comfortable and efficient skating style without having to go through the time consuming and not always successful process of "profiling".
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1.0 describes a standard skate blade 254mm with a lie angle of zero which is standard lie in most skates brand new FIG. 1.2 describes the axis being tilted 10 degrees from back to front resulting in 10 degrees forward pitch.
FIG. 1.4 describes the axis being tilted 20 degrees from back to front resulting in 20 degrees forward pitch.

Claims (6)
1. A blade for an ice skate comprising and edge having a working surface for contact and force application to ice, said working surface extending between an exterior end and a posterior end, said edge gradually increasing in height from anterior end to posterior end.
2. The blade for an ice skate where said edge at the anterior end has the same width as the posterior end.
3. The blade for an ice skate where the height at said edge at said posterior is in the range of 5-25% of the anterior edge.
4. The blade for an ice skate according to claim1, where the blade comprises of metal.
5. The blade for an ice skate according to claim, where the blade has mechanical means for affixing said blade to a blade retainer.
6. A blade for an ice skate comprising an edge having working surface for contact ad force application to the ice, the working surface extending between the anterior end, a middle, and a posterior end, the width stays the same from anterior to posterior but the height gradually increasing from anterior, to middle, to posterior. The blade at the middle is greater in height than the anterior and the posterior is greater in height than the middle.
