Abstract
Les modes de réalisation de la présente invention concernent des systèmes et des procédés de traitement de la douleur par le biais de l'activation de fibres neuronales choisies. Les fibres neuronales peuvent comprendre une ou plusieurs fibres neuronales afférentes et/ou une ou plusieurs fibres neuronales efférentes. Si les fibres afférentes sont stimulées, seules ou en association avec les fibres efférentes, une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace de stimulation électrique est appliquée dans le but d'activer les voies afférentes d'une manière approchant l'activité afférente naturelle. Les fibres afférentes peuvent être associées à des récepteurs primaires de fuseaux musculaires, d'organes tendineux de Golgi, des récepteurs secondaires de fuseaux musculaires, des récepteurs articulaires, des récepteurs tactiles, et d'autres types de mécanorécepteurs et/ou de propriocepteurs. Si les fibres efférentes sont stimulées, seules ou en association avec les fibres afférentes, une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace de stimulation électrique est appliquée dans le but d'activer les fibres musculaires intrafusales et/ou extrafusales, ce qui provoque une activation indirecte des fibres afférentes associées à celles-ci.
