Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiments [0008] The present concept a combination jacket and shoulder support shown generally as 100 as shown in Figures 1 and 7 is a combination of a jacket which is shown in Figures 1 through 4 and a shoulder support 200 shown in Figure 7 combined together as depicted as a combination jacket and shoulder support in Figures 5 and 6.
[0009] First of all looking more particularly at jacket 101 is shown in the closed position 193 in Figure 1 and shown in open position 191 in Figure 3.
[00010] The major components of jacket 101 include right front panel 110, left front panel 112, rear panel 114, sleeves 116, a shoulder 118 and a collar 120.
Jacket 101 includes a number of pockets which are attached to the rear panel of jacket 101 and include upper pocket 122, thoracic pockets 124, and lumbar pocket 128. The pockets 122, 124, and 128 are for holding for example hot packs 182 shown in Figure 4 and/or cold packs 180 shown in Figure 4. Jacket 101 also includes lower padding 126. The jacket is held in the closed position 193 with front straps 140 and lower strap 145.

The jacket is held in the closed position 193 with front straps 140 and lower strap 145.
[00011] Referring now to Figure 7 which depicts shoulder support 200 which includes the following major components namely body support 202, outer skin . CA 02800050 2012-12-28 204, a forward end 206, a rear end 208, forward straps 210, rear straps 212 and strap hook and loop 214.
[00012] Shoulder support 200 is filled with some soft pliable material such as foam and/or other stuffing which is suitable.
[00013] Should support 200 is shown deployed together with jacket 101 in Figure 5 which depicts the combination jacket and shoulder support 100.
Shoulder support 200 has a body diameter 220 and a support under the arm crossing at the arm pit 251 by fastening forward straps 210 and rear straps 212 to the shoulder hook and loop 130 which meets with the strap hook and loop 214 in order to hold and support shoulder support 200 in place under the arm pit 251.
In Use [00014] The reader will note that the pockets namely upper pocket 122, thoracic pocket 124, and lumbar pocket 128 can be filled with hot packs 182 and cold packs 180 and placed within the pockets. Once the desired hot packs 182 and/or cold packs 180 are placed in the desired positions the jacket can be placed onto a person and worn in the closed position 193 as shown in Figure 5.

Once the desired hot packs 182 and/or cold packs 180 are placed in the desired positions the jacket can be placed onto a person and worn in the closed position 193 as shown in Figure 5.
[00015] Additionally shoulder support 200 is placed under the armpit 251 of the person wearing the shoulder support 200 and is shown in Figure 6. The strap hook and loop 214 mate with the shoulder hook and loops 130 to hold in position shoulder support 200.
[00016] In this manner a person that has been injured can apply heat and/or cold to a preselected portion of the body by placing hot packs 182 and/or cold packs 180 into the various pockets that are available in the rear panel 114 of jacket 101.
[00017] It is also possible to include pockets in the inside of the right front panel 110 and the inside of the left front panel 112 however these are not shown in the diagrams.
[00018] Additionally different body diameters 220 of should support 200 can be selected in order to support an arm on shoulder support 200 at different elevations.
[00019] For example if it is required to hold the arm higher one would use a shoulder support having a larger body diameter 220. On the other hand if it is necessary to support the arm in a lower position it is possible to use the shoulder support 200 of a lower body diameter 220.
[00020] Additionally the height of shoulder support 200 can be adjusted to be fitting more closely into the armpit 251 or more loosely further under and away from the armpit 251 thereby also being able to adjust the position of the arm crossing at the armpit 251.
[00021] It should be apparent to persons skilled in the arts that various modifications and adaptation of this structure described above are possible without departure from the spirit of the invention the scope of which defined in the appended claim.
