Abstract

The invention provides a One-driven-two Pumping Unit for cluster wells in which double-well pump is driven by a prime mover. The pumping unit comprises a prime mover and double-well mechanical linkage arms. The core structure of the invention is a pantograph mechanism consisting of four proportional pivoted rods.

Description

One-driven-two Pumping Unit This invention provides a One-driven-two Pumping Unit which relates generally to improvements in oil well pumping units by reducing energy consumption dramatically.
Background Of The Invention It is well known that there are a few defects of the conventional walking beam pumpjack, such as changing joint load, uneven driving energy and huge energy consumption. By applying a pantograph mechanism of four proportional pivoted rods, this invention is designed against the defects of the most commonly used beam pump, including confined stroke displacement by its structure, poor balance performance and restricted stroke lifetime by its flexible connection. The designed pumping unit has the advantages of large stroke displacement, light-bar structure and rigid joint to sucker rod which removes the limitation of stroke lifetime. In addition, it is a balanced system with less energy loss.
Another advantage of the unit is that its hanging position and stroke displacement are adjustable.

Summary Of The Invention The invention provides a One-driven-two Pumping Unit which comprises a prime mover and double-well mechanical linkage arms. A pantograph mechanism of four proportional pivoted rods is applied in both of these two sections. The prime mover is a Pivoted Rod Pump without counter weight and can be used as a single pumpjack by adding a counter weight. The double-well mechanical linkage arms consists of four proportional pivoted rods.

In the drawings, which form a part of this specification, Fig. I is a schematic view of a prime mover.

Fig. 2 is a schematic view of double-well mechanical linkage arms pivoted to a pump jack base.

Fig. 3 is a schematic view of a prime mover with a counterweight added.

Detailed Description Of The Invention This invention is a compound drive pumping units for cluster wells that double-well pumps are powered by a prime mover. Reference is made to the accompanying drawings in which is shown an illustrative embodiment of the invention from which its features and advantages will be apparent.

This pumping unit consists of a prime mover, a pump jack base and double-well mechanical linkage arms.

As shown in Fig. 1, a prime mover comprises a frame 10, a power unit 13, a vertical chute 14 mounted on the frame 10, a slider 16 in the vertical chute 14, a crank 12, a horizontally movable pivot support 11 and a pantograph mechanism consisting of four proportional pivoted rods. Its core structure is a pantograph mechanism consisting of four proportional pivoted rods. Two equal length upper rods 3 and 4 are pivoted together on one of their ends. A longer lower rod 5 and a shorter lower rod 6 are pivoted together at one of their ends. These two lower rods 5 and 6 come out from their joint 7 at a V. The other end of each lower rod is pivoted to the mid of each upper rod respectively to make each lower rod parallel to one of the upper rods. The pivot point 7 of two lower rods is in conjunction with the ray created by the two bottom ends 8 and 9 of each upper rod. The upper rod 3 (or 4) is proportional to the shorter lower rod at variable length ratio (which is 4 in the Fig.). The bottom end 9 of upper rod 4 is pivoted to a horizontally movable pivot support 11 which is mounted on a frame support 10 and the pivot point can be horizontally adjusted as request. Joint 7 of the two lower rods is pivoted to a slider 16 in a vertical chute 14. The crank 12 is connected to the power unit 13 at one end and is connected to the slider 16 at the other end. Driven by the power unit, the slider 16 (joint 7) will be doing vertical reciprocating motion. Meanwhile, the loading joint 8 of the upper rod 3 will be doing vertical reciprocating motion correspondingly. The displacement of joint 8 will be amplified in proportion to the displacement of joint 7. The loading point 8 can be adjusted horizontally by horizontally moving joint 9.

As shown in Fig. 2, the double-well mechanical linkage arms is a pantograph mechanism described previously with two equal length upper rods being twice as long as two equal length lower rods. The connection point of two lower rods is pivoted to a pump jack base 15. The bottom ends I and 2 of each upper rod are the two loading rigid suspension joints to which the sucker rods of #1 and 92 well are going to be connected. By vertically displacing joint 2, joint I will be moving vertically to an opposite direction. One of those two suspension joints I or 2 (which is joint 2 in the figure) is pivoted to the loading joint 8 of the prime mover.

The double-well pumping unit is powered by the power unit 13 of the prime mover. By vertically displacing joint 7, vertical displacement of joint 8 will be amplified in proportion to the displacement of joint 7 through the pantograph mechanism of four proportional pivoted rods. So are joints I and 2. The motion direction of joint I and 2 is opposite. That makes the pumping process of two wells has 180 phase difference.
Driven by the prime mover, the suspended joint 2 of #2 well moves up and pumps oil while joint I of #1 well moves down and releases it potential energy which assists #2 well pumping, and vice versa. Since this compound drive pumping units is a balanced mechanical system, it does not need counter weight for the prime mover. It takes full advantage of driving power. So energy consumption would be lower dramatically by using this compound drive pumping units.

Referring now to Fig. 3, a prime mover will become a single pump jack by adding a counterweight 17.

There has been disclosed heretofore the best embodiment of the invention presently contemplated. However, it will be apparent that the principles and features of this invention may be employed in various and numerous embodiments without departing from the scope of the invention.
