Abstract
In a tool for installing cables, a handle is secured to a main body perpendicular to the handle. The main body houses a shaft that allows a chain to be fastened to the end of the shaft at the opening, which is in turn securely connected to cables. The handle can then be extended via an extension pole to the desired height in order to place the metal chain over beams in industrial buildings. Once the desired position of the cable is achieved the operator can then pull the release rope, which in turn pulls the shaft back and opens the chain notch and drops the chain. The chain will then drop to the floor enabling the operator to pull the cables up and over the beams, via twine that is attached to the chain, which in turn is attached to the cables.
Claims (8)
1 Claims:
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property of privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
Claim 1: A tool for installing cables through rafters, joists, beams or pipes in ceilings of industrial buildings including:
i) A process for placing cables 20 feet or higher through rafters, joists, beams or pipes in ceilings of industrial buildings while operator is stationed on the ground.
ii) A wire cabler comprising a handle, main body (frame) and means for undulating said main body (frame) about a 90-degrees parallel to the handle. The said handle at its resting point is perpendicular to the main body. Wherein the handle comprises an elongated gripping surface, a pole-receiving socket extending along the length of the gripping surface, and a recess extending from the end of the gripping surface. The handle is outfitted with wing nuts used to tighten the pole-receiving socket to the extension pole. The said handle is intended to be fastened to an extension pole, which is in tern grasped by the operator.

Claim 2: A tool for installing cables as described in claim 1, Wherein the said main body acts as the frame of the invention and houses all moving and stationary parts comprising:
a) An elongated hollow ovoid shaped main body comprising opposite ends;
b) Said main body including a front-end portion containing a notch three quarters in length and a half and half an inch in depth;
c) Said main body including a rear end portion that is secured at the end by two bridge pieces.
The two bridge pieces are parallel to each other and are three quarters of an inch apart from one another.
e) The said bridge pieces are further joined in the middle with a pulley and axel.

The two bridge pieces are parallel to each other and are three quarters of an inch apart from one another.
e) The said bridge pieces are further joined in the middle with a pulley and axel.
Claim 3: A wire cabler as described in claims 1 and 2, a) Wherein said main body includes a spring housed in a tension spring chamber;
b) Wherein said main body includes a shaft 33 inches in length;
c) Wherein said shaft has a metal stopper (tension spring holder) welded to the shaft, d) Wherein said shaft moves laterally and is operable by pulling a release rope, which in turn compresses the spring against the tension spring holder.
b) Wherein said main body includes a shaft 33 inches in length;
c) Wherein said shaft has a metal stopper (tension spring holder) welded to the shaft, d) Wherein said shaft moves laterally and is operable by pulling a release rope, which in turn compresses the spring against the tension spring holder.
Claim 4: A tool according to claim 1, 2 and 3 wherein the shaft of the main body is attached, or attachable to a metal chain, which is in turn attached to:
a) A piece of twine, or b) A piece of rope
a) A piece of twine, or b) A piece of rope
Claim 5: A tool according to claim 4 wherein the twine or rope is attached to cables.
Claim 6: A process for installing cables through rafters, joists, beams or pipes in ceilings of industrial buildings, including:
a) Securing the tool 20 or higher, by its handle, to an opening in a beam, joist, or rafter, the part of the tool having:
i) The process to connect a chain to the tool where the chain is connected to a piece of twine which is in turn connected to the cables;
ii) A process to extend the tool over a beam, joist, pipe or rafter;
iii) A process to direct the tool into a desired place where the cable is required to be placed;
iv) A process to release the chain to the ground thereby allowing you to pull the rope and cables through a beam, joist, pipe or rafter;
v) A process to retract the tool from the opening of the beam, joist, pipe or rafter.
a) Securing the tool 20 or higher, by its handle, to an opening in a beam, joist, or rafter, the part of the tool having:
