Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé qui permet d'accélérer la découverte de points d'accès dans un réseau local sans fil, selon lequel un point d'accès commence par transmettre un paquet d'annonce via au moins un canal différent du canal sur lequel le point d'accès transmet les signaux de balise. Le paquet d'annonce est reçu par une station, qui décide alors de s'associer ou non au point d'accès de transmission. Le paquet d'annonce peut comprendre des informations de réassociation, qui permettent à la station de s'associer au point d'accès sur la base des informations contenues dans le paquet d'annonce, ou des informations de synchronisation, qui permettent à la station de se synchroniser avec le point d'accès et de recevoir la balise du point d'accès sans s'immobiliser trop longtemps sur le point d'accès.
