Description

SysLem for latchina a ciamNina ring on t ansrort containers ha n nina The invention relates to a system for latching a damping ring, such as is used for sealing transport containers for liquids.

A system for latching a damping ring is known from EP 1 215 138 BI, in which a pressure release device protrudes upwards from a cover for sealing the opening. A part of a securing means extends horizontally from the pressure release device, and a bolt that points downwards is provided on the end of this securing means, wherein said bolt engages in the damping ring by means of a hole in the same.

This securing mechanism is disadvantageous in various regards. It has been seen that the securing means oocasionaily deform, and it is oniy possible to take apart the valve or the securing means with great difficulty. Furthermore, in such a case It is necessary to replace the valve and the securing means, which is associated with considerable costs.

The object of the invention under consideration is therefore to create a system for latching a damping ring, wherein said system is more robust and / or more economical.
This object is solved by a container according to Claim 1 and a container according to Claim 11.

Advantageous embodiments are disclosed in the dependent ciaims.

The safety device with which the damping ring can be latched has two parts that are connected to each other, wherein one part extends along the gas outlet valve and a second part extends from this first part to the latch with which the clamping ring can be latched. By means of this construction, a design resuits that is less strongly protruding and that is considerably less susceptible to deformations.

It is also possible for a latch to extend perpendicularly away from the second part. By means of the design, it is possible to keep the latch very short, so that deformation of the latch itself can be practicaiiy ruled out.

The latch advantageously is of such a length that it extends through the damping ring into, e.g., a flange of the container. At the same time, very good latching of the clamping ring is achieved, because the clamping ring is fixed in piaoe with respect to the flange.

The securing device advantageously furthermore has a ring portion that has a ring-shaped opening, with which it can be slid over the housing of the gas outiet valve.
This makes possible simple assembly and disassembly of the IatcPung system or the safety device.

A second latch can be provided on the gas outlet valve housing, wherein said latch is connected to a component of the gas outiet valve in such a way that the valve is functionai only when the latch is deployed, wherein this latch then prevents the ring portion of the securing means from being pulled off. In this way it is possible to ensure that it is not possible to release the clamping ring until the latching mechanism has been taken apart, wherein the gas outlet valve is then simultaneously affected thereby in such a way that gas can escape from the container. in this way, release of the clamping ring is prevented as long as the container is still under pressure.

In an advantageous embodiment, the latch that latches the damping ring is completely covered by the second part of the safety device. This protects the latch from mechanical actions and so extends the life cycle of the system.

Furthermore, means can be provided with which the valve can be lead-sealed.
For example, this can be an opening in the housing of the gas outlet valve, through which a lead seal can be pulled. In this way, for example, an upper part of the gas outiet valve can be lead-sealed to the housing, so that removal of the safety device is oniy possible if the lead seal is opened. In this way, the lead seal can be checked to ensure that no manipulations of the container have taken place, in particular, that neither the valve nor the clamping-ring nor the manhole has been opened.

A container for liquids has a safety device with which a damping ring can be latched, wherein the clamping ring can then be released only when the valve is opened, wherein the safety device is completely detachable from the gas outlet valve. In the event of a deformed safety device, it is consequently possible to replace only this safety device, without it also being necessary to replace both the valve and the safety device. This makes possible considerably more economical operation.

Advantageously, the detachment can take place without tools, so that handling is simple.

A preferred embodiment of the invention wili be explained using the accompanying figures.
Shown by the figures are:

Figure 1 a schematic sectional view of a container, Figure 2 a schematic three-dimensional view of the gas outlet valve and the safety device, Figure 3 a schematic three-dimensionai view of the gas outlet valve without the safety device, Figure 3 b the safety device, Figure 4 a schematic sectional drawing through the gas outlet valve and safety device, shown in the assembled state.

Figure 1 shows a container 1 in which liquids can be held. This container normally has an outlet on its lower end or on the lower area of the side wall, but this outlet is not shown here for the sake of clarity. The container I can have castors 8 with which the container can be transported. Other means of transport, such as application possibilities for fork lifts or the like, can also be provided. The container can consequentiy be formed as a transport container.

The container I has a tank 2, which has an opening 4 at Its upper end. The purpose of this opening 4 is to make the interior of the tank 2 accessible, for example, for maintenance work, cleaning or the like. The opening 4 is also called the manhole.

As a rule, the opening 4 is closed. A cover 3, which, along with a seal 6, can be placed on to the container 2 and tightiy sealed, serves to dose the opening 4. A damping ring 5 serves to press the cover 3 on to the tank 2 and hold it. A gas outlet valve 7 is arranged In the cover 3. The gas outiet valve 7 serves to relieve excess pressure in the tank 2, or to limit such excess pressure.

Figure 2 depicts the gas outlet valve 7 and the safety device 10, together with the clamping ring 5, in a three-dimensional schematic view. The housing of the gas outlet valve 7 extends perpendicularly from the cover 3 upwards. A safety device 10 is mounted over the housing of the gas outlet valve 7. For this purpose, the securing device 10 has a ring portion 10c, that has a ring-shaped or circular opening. Opening fonns other than ring-shaped (for example, square, rectangular, elliptical or the like) are also possible.

A first part 10b is connected to the ring portion 10c, wherein said part 10b runs downwards along the gas outlet valve. The second part 10a of the safety device 10 extends horizontally from the first part 10b at its lower end. The latch 11 is provided on the second part 10a of the safety device 10, wherein said latch 11 extends vertically downwards. As can be seen in Figure 2, the latch 11 is completely covered by the second part 10a of the safety device 10.

The clamping ring 5 has notches 12, wherein the container 2 has pins 13 that can be guided through the grooves 12. The notches 12 and the pins 13 interact in such a way that the damping ring 5 can be rotated into a latching position in which the cover 3 sits firmly on the container 2 (see Figure 2). Furthermore, the damping ring 5 can be rotated into a position in which the clamping ring, together with the cover 3, can be removed from the container 2. The latch 11 serves to prevent this rotation, so that this rotation Is only possible If the latch 11 has been removed.

Such a state is shown in Figure 3 a. Here an opening 18 can be discemed that extends through the damping ring 5, the cover 3 and into the container 2.

As can be seen in Figure 2, a body 14, through which a second latch 15 extends, is arranged in the upper area of the gas outiet valve 7. The latch 15 can be inserted into the housing of the gas outlet valve 7, wherein corresponding notches 16 are provided in the housing for this purpose. The latch 15 in this case is arranged In such a way that the ring-shaped part 10c cannot be extracted from the gas outlet valve 7 as long as the latch 15 is inserted in the gas outlet valve 7.

A groove 28 is provided in the body 14. When the body 14 is inserted and locked with the latch 15, the groove aligns with two openings 27 in the housing of the gas outlet valve 7. A
lead seal can be pulled through the openings 27, wherein said lead seal is, e.g., dosed above the housing of the gas outlet valve 7. In this way, it is possible to remove the body 14, and therefore the latch 15, only by removing or damaging the lead seal.
Consequently, the authenticity of the sealing of the manhole can be checked. The groove 28 Is not absolutely necessary for this, because even in the case of a lead seal above the body 14, the body 14 cannot be removed without damaging the lead seal. With the groove 28, it is, however, possible to prevent twisting the body 14 to unlock the latch 15 without damaging the lead seal.

Figure 3 b schematically depicts the safety device 10 alone in three dimensions, in the manner in which it can be individually replaced.

Figure 4 shows a sectional view of the gas outlet valve 7, together with the safety device 10, the cover 3 and the container 2. The container 2 has a flange 20 that extends around the cover opening 4. A seal 21 lies on the flange 20, and the cover 3 is pressed on to this sear: 21. The cover 3 is secured with a damping ring 5. When assembled, the clamping ring 5, the cover 3 and the flange 20 have holes, which lie one on top of the other in a suitable manner. A latch 11 of the safety device 10 can be pushed through these holes that lie one on top of the other. The latch 11 then prevents twisting of the clamping ring 5 or the cover 3 with respect to the container flange 20. The latch 11 is covered by the second part 10a of the safety device 10, and is protected from deformations In this way.

The part 10a is connected to the first part 10b of the safety device 10 directly above the cover 3. The connection can also be at a distance from the cover 3, in order to have somewhat more leeway during assembly. The connection can also be distinctly recessed from the cover 3. The parts 10a and 10b can also be curved or given by the two ends of a part bent by roughly 90 . The first and second parts also do not necessarily have to be in one piece, but can also themselves be put together from several possibly straight or flat pieces. For example, instead of a one-piece first part, it is also possible to provide a two-piece part that comprises two pieces intersecting at an angle. One piece adjoins the first part preferably at an angle of between 90 and 180 . The angle between the two pieces is also preferably between 90 and 180 .

The body 14, which is connected to the second latch 15 (see Figure 2), is located in the housing of the gas outlet valve 7. This body 14 presses against a spring 23, which in tum presses against a sealing piece 22, with which an opening 25 in the cover 3 is sealed. The sealing piece 22 can comprise a seal. The spring 23 with its spring force is selected in such a way that when there is a desired excess pressure in the container 2, the sealing piece 22 is pressed upwards against the spring force in such a way that the excess pressure is relieved to a certain excess pressure. The gas flowing out of the opening 25 can escape into the surroundings through openings 26 provided on the sides of the housing of the gas outlet valve 7.

If the clamping ring 5 is to be opened, fiirst the component 14 of the gas outiet valve 7 must be removed, for the purpose of which the gas outlet valve 7 is rotated on the latch 15 and removed upwards through the notches 16 (see Figure 2). In this way, the gas outiet valve 7 is made non-functionai or is opened completely. The pressure exerted by the spring 23 against the seaiing piece 22 is missing, so that the sealing piece 22 releases the opening 25 in the event of any excess pressure. Any excess pressure in the container 2 is consequently relieved. The interior of the container 2 consequently stands at normal pressure.

By removing the component 14, the safety device 10 can be extracted upwards from the housing of the gas outlet valve 7, as a result of which the clamping ring 5 Is released for rotation. With this design, it is possible to open the damping ring only after the gas outlet valve has been overridden.

This is particuiariy advantageous for transport containers in which those persons who carry out the filling are not those who then empty the containers. The iatter are not necessarily famifiar with all the technical details of the transport containers, so that a transport container that prevents faulty operation, such as opening the manhole when the container is under pressure, is advantageous.
