Abstract

Multifunctional dental tool with disposable soft touch tip is designed for removal particles, suction and cleaning oral cavity by providing air, water and vacuum in one hand-tool. The apparatus represent disposable suction tip of cylinder shape that contains insides conducts for water and air delivery. The tip is mounted onto metal handle with control valves. The adaptor is used to combine three pipes in one flexible conduct connecting adaptor and handle. By combining three functions in one tool on in-and-out principle the present tool acquires new operational features: simultaneous and focused delivery of the water, air and suction in dental treatment, a "blind" operational process which allows to clean the tooth or drilling hole by applying the tool end with less precision. The soft material used on the tool end adopts the contact surface and allows air passing through the walls for venting. It reduces chance of injury.

Description

2 Field and background of the invention 3 The invention pertains to dental tools to be used by dentists, assistants and hygienists for 4 different types of oral cavity and teeth treatment: cleaning out particles, liquids, spraying with water solutions and air, drying and vacuum suction. The currant invention was designed to 6 combine several existing functions to the widely spread evacuation systems used for cleaning, ? drying and suction.
8 The existing dental cleaning suction tools are used by dentist to remove unneeded 9 particles, any other foreign objects, and fluids from the oral cavity appearing normally during dental procedures. Besides the dentists use other types of dental instruments to clean operational I I area in oral cavity: dental syringe, dental combined syringe with water, low volume saliva 12 suction and rinsing with water.
13 These tools are located usually on the dental chair and on an assistant tray. Apparently, 14 all these tools independently adjusted to air, water and vacuum supply and exist as separate tools: volume suction, saliva suction, combined dental syringe, rinsing water supply system.
16 In order to prevent the transmission of viruses and bacteria from one patient to another I? for traditional dental tools a deep sterilization cycle is needed, and currently the dentists are 18 using more often disposable plastic parts that sometimes make small injuries in the oral cavity.
19 The existing combined air and water dental syringe has a metal tip, which must be sterilized on a ZO per client basis.
21 One of the advantages of the current invention envisages the usage of disposable tool tip 22 made of soft artificial material to prevent possible injuries and chance of contamination. The soft 23 touch tip of cylinder foan when pressed on the tooth adopts the form of the operational surface.
24 The porous material used for soft touch tip provide additional venting capacity.
26 During the operation water, saliva, blood, and hard particles are removed from the 2? patient mouth by assistant or by dentist him-self with suction tool and then the dentist use the 28 combined syringe to remove more blood and particle with air flow and liquid from particular 29 working area in the oral cavity. Further on, the suction tool is frequently used to eliminate the extra liquid and blood.
31 During the whole operational cycle, a dentist or his assistant requires a number of 32 different dental tools and disposable parts as well for cleaning or drying the oral cavity and 33 particular operation area: volume suction, saliva suction, dental syringe, combined water and air 34 syringe, various suction tips and syringe tips.

35 It is an object of the present invention to provide means for the complete cycle (first 36 cleaning with suction during drilling, cleaning the working area with water and/or air, second 37 removal of water and blood with suction, drying with air syringe and suction) in one easy to 38 operate dental tool with single universal disposable tip.
39 It is another advantage of the current invention, that a dentist or his assistant reduces the 40 number of movements (changing instruments), efforts, saving time of operation and labour, 41 making the whole cycle more efficient and safe. It can also allow a dentist to transfer some of 42 work load and operations to assistant.
43 The next advantage of the present invention is the combining of different 44 functions (cleaning with water, cleaning with air, evacuation of particles, vacuum suction and 45 drying) in one tool on in-and-out principle the present tool acquires different features as a 46 different type of tools itself simultaneous and focused delivery of the water, air and vacuum 47 suction in the oral cavity.
48 By using the compressed air and water tubing inside vacuum suction tip, a "blind"
49 operational process arises which allows to clean the tooth or drill hole in a tooth by applying the 50 tool end on a spot area, becoming another advantage of the current invention.
51 The further advantage of the invention is its better drying capacity by means of 52 simultaneous in-and-out air circulation in a tube in tube principle.
53 Other objects, features and advantages ofthe current invention will become obvious 54 from the following description.
55 There is at least two or more patents issued in regards of dental cleaning tools in Canada 56 2324331, 2332665, USA Patent Number 4,531,913.

58 Summary of the invention 60 Multifunctional dental tool with disposable soft touch tip is designed for removal particles, 61 suction and cleaning oral cavity by providing air, water and vacuum in one hand-tool. 'The 62 apparatus represent disposable plastic suction tip (8) of cylinder shape that contains insides 63 conducts for water ( 10) and compressed air ( 11 ). The supply of the air and water is controlled by 64 the valves inside the handle by pressing the appropriate buttons. The soft material of cylindrical 65 shape (9) used on the toot end adopts the contact surface and allows air passing through the soft 66 material (12) for venting. The disposable tip is mounted onto metal handle (6) which contains 67 the control valves (7). 1'he adaptor (4) is used to combine three pipes (1,2,3) in one flexible 68 conduct (5) connecting adaptor (4) and handle (6).

6~ The device envisa~Tes the usage of disposable tool tip made of soft artificial material to 70 prevent possible injuries and chance of contamination.
71 The embodiment provides means for the complete cycle in one easy to operate dental 7? tool with single universal disposable tip.
73 The dentist or his assistant reduces the number of movements (changing instruments), 74 efforts, saving time of operation and labour, making the whole cycle more efficient and safe. It 75 can also allow a dentist to transfer some of work load and operations to assistant.
76 The different functions are combined in one tool on supply and evacuation in-and-out 77 principle and the invention acquires different features as a different type of tools itself 78 simultaneous and focused delivery of the water, air and vacuum suction in the oral cavity, 79 possibility of the "blind" operational process which allows to clean the tooth or drill hole in a 80 tooth by applying the tool end on a spot area.
a l T he apparatus acquires better drying capacity by means of simultaneous in-and-out air 82 circulation in a tube in tube principle.
83 The tool it-self allows saving overall time on a per client basis, fewer instruments in oral 84 cavity reduce the risk of contamination and needs less sterilisation.
85 In the drawings, which form a part of this specification, 86 Fig. I is technical scheme of multifunctional dental tool with disposable soft touch tip 87 Fig. 2 is drawing of tool prototype 88 Fig. 3 is the view of disposable soft touch tip.
