Description
JEWELLERY DISPLAY SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a jewellery display system and more particularly, relates to a jewellery display system which includes means for displaying desired jewellery in conjunction with a mirror.
There are many different types of jewellery storage devices which are readily available on the market. Such storage devices range from ordinary jewellery boxes designed to be placed~in drawers and the like to rather elaborate arrangements which tend to be substantially more expensive.
It is also known in the art to provide lockable devices which prevent theft thereof.
The devices are often hidden in drawers, beneath a bed, or other similar locations so that a potential thief will be unable to locate the box. However, usually a burglar will ransack a residence until the jewellery is found. Thus, it is often futile to use such devices unless a very secure type of apparatus such as a wall safe is utilized.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a jewellery storage device which will provide some protection for the jewellery while also permitting the display thereof as required.
According to the present invention, there is provided a frame member, a mirror mounted in said frame member, and a jewellery storage device mounted rearwardly of said mirror.
In greater detail, the present invention provides a jewellery storage device which may be retained in a position rearwardly of the mirror when not required. However, the jewellery storage device is movable from a position rearwardly of the mirror to a position whereby it may be displayed and where the user can select the jewellery and try on the jewellery with the mirror being proximate thereto.
The frame about the mirror and the mirror itself may be any conventional and will normally be chosen for the aesthetics thereof. It suffices to say that there are many number of mirrors and frames known in the art and any suitable combination may be utilized in the practice of the present invention.
There is also provided a sub frame mounted rearwardly of the mirror and which sub frame includes a relatively thin slidable device upon which the jewellery may be displayed.
Again, many suitable arrangements may be provided.
Having thus generally described the present invention, reference will be made to the accompanying drawing illustrating an embodiment thereof, in which:
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of a jewellery display device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to the drawing in greater detail, and by reference characters thereto, there is illustrated in Figure 1 a jewellery display and the storage assembly which is generally designated by reference numeral 10..
Jewellery storage and display assembly 10 includes a first portion comprising a frame having a top frame member 12, a bottom frame member 14, and a pair of side frame members 16 and 18. Mounted interiorly of frame members 12, 14, 16 and 18 is a mirror generally designated by reference numeral 20.
As may be seen on the right hand side of Figure 1, there is provided a sub frame assembly 21 which comprises a plurality of frame members 22. Sub frame assembly 21 is slidably mounted with respect to the mirror portion and to this end, a first ball bearing drawer slide 24 is located at the bottom and a second ball bearing drawer slide 26 is located

-2-at the top. Mounted interiorly of the sub frame is a central portion 28 which preferably is of a soft material and is designed to receive jewellery as shown in Figure 1.
In use, normally the sub frame assembly 21 is in a position rearwardly of mirror 20.
However, when the user wishes to use jewellery, the sub frame assembly is slid out to the position shown in Figure 1 and the user can then try various pieces of jewellery while looking in mirror 20.
It will be understood that the above described embodiment is for purposes of illustration only and that changes and modifications may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
