Description
An External Mold Replacing Internal Reinforcing on Concrete Posts 'this invention relates to a new method to make concrete posts and particularly for fence use.
Chemically treated wood is commonly used but it is banned in children's playgrounds.
Concrete posts with internal reinforcing have been in use in many jurisdictions for many years and have proved very successful but exposed concrete can eventually weather and when moisture reaches the steel failure is rapid.
lo~Iy method of casting posts is very unique and efficient and rewires much less work where materials have to be stored and processed and used molds have to be stripped and cleaned to be reused. A lot of labour and damage is involved in doing this.
F~.einforcing applied to the outside of the post is more efficient and protective and pro rata is much cheaper to produce.
In a drawing in section which illustrates embodiments of the invention it shows a mold 1 in a vertical position and located above the mold 1 is a fresh concrete container

In a drawing in section which illustrates embodiments of the invention it shows a mold 1 in a vertical position and located above the mold 1 is a fresh concrete container
2 with an exit pipe 3 into the mold 1 and vertically passing through the fresh concrete 4 container 2 is a reinforcing bar S of predetermined length and gauge which is loosely suspended from a winch f> above and is f rmly attached to the centre of a metal disc 7 belovv. ghe diameter of this disk 7 is a little less than the inside diameter of the mold I and around the upper surface ofthe disk 7 is a rubber gasket 8 that is a little wider than the inside wall ~~f mold 1 which causes the rubber gasket 8 to lean upwards and outwards on the inside wall of the mold 1 and having the effect that when the reinforcing bar S is activated downwards the fresh concrete 4 follows until the disk 7 rests on a rim 9 circling the bottom inside edge of the :t~a~.old 1.
