Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de détection et de commande du niveau d'un lit de boue dans un épaississeur par gravité à compression élevée (10). L'épaississeur est pourvu de sondes à vibrations supérieures et inférieures (12 et 24) qui vibrent à une amplitude et fréquence prédéterminées. Lorsque le lit de boue atteint un niveau (30), la sonde à vibrations (12) est permutée, ce qui délivre un signal d'allumage par une ligne de commande (32) pour mettre en route une pompe de sous-écoulement (22). Au cas où le lit de boue atteint un niveau inférieur (34), la sonde à vibrations transmet un signal d'arrêt par une ligne de commande (36), ce qui interrompt le fonctionnement de la pompe (22) et permet au niveau de boue d'augmenter. Les signaux de commande des sondes à vibrations supérieure et inférieure (12) et (24) sont utilisés pour adapter l'écoulement de la boue par adaptation de la vitesse de la pompe de sous-écoulement (22) de manière à commander le niveau du lit de boue à l'intérieur de l'épaississeur.
