Abstract
This is an Invention of a frame & drive assembly fully guarded, which can be fitted onto a chain saw power head which will become a portable grinder.
Description
SPECIFICATAIONS
The inventive idea is a way in which you can couple a drive assembly to a power head and create a more powerfull, durable, operator comfort and control and better safety devices.
This drive assembly is coupled up with a stihl 026 power head. This power head allows us to power a 6" grinding stone at a recommended speed of 6050 rpm's, with lots of power, anti-vibration, resulting in operator comfort, superior inertia brake assembly and throttle lock which adds to the safety features.
This inventive idea is easily mounted to the power head. It's one piece main frame design allows for easy installation and removal, easy belt adjustments and a well secured mount with two studs. It is driven by a centrifical clutch belt drive system with steel and cast iron pulley for long belt life and less slippage. The driven shaft is designed for easy installation and removeability for service.

represents where unit is mounted to Power Head. B shows Bearing area fully bored through that section for easy installation of Bearing D for self alignment. Section C shows Bearing area bored with a stop at the back.

Shows Picture 3 inserted into Picture 2 in working order.For installation, take one Bearing D, insert it into C side frame. Install Guard E with screws F to hold Bearing D
from moving. Now take Shaft H & install one Bearing D lit; Spacer I & woodrufl' Key J. Insert 'Threaded end of Shaft into Section B of Frame, lower Pulley K between B & C section of Frame &
slide Shaft H
through Pulley K & into Bearing D in section C of Frame. Be sure Key J fits into Pulley K &
slide Shaft fully in. Install Spacer L on Shaft then install one Collar M on Shaft H. Install Grinding Wheel P on Shaft H. Install Collar M on Shaft H. Thread on Left Hand Nut N onto Shaft H & tighten. This pulls everything to the right hand side to bring it all togefher into one solid spinning shaft. Now install Belt O into Pulley K. Instal( Ciuard G onto B side of Frame which is held by 3 screws F. Two Screws F are located on Frame B & Une Screw F
is located on Frame C. 'This keeps B & C from spreading away from each other. Now this unit is fully assembled & ready for Installation onto Power Head.
This is a Kit which converts a C.'hain Saw into a Portable Gas Grinder. This idea can be made to fit multible Power Heads.

This is an invention that can be assembled to more than one power head and creates a portable grinder. This grinder may be used in different jobs and applications such as mechanical construction, pipelines, ship work, railways, etc. This unit will grind switch points, rails, preweld grinding etc, and can be used for sharpening cutter blades, tools, etc,etc.
