Abstract

Selon la présente invention, on réduit le nombre de cylindres opérationnels (1, 2, 3) de moteurs Diesel (10) soumis une à faible charge en fermant les injecteurs de carburant (1I, 2I, 3I) et en désactivant les soupapes d'admission (1Vi, 2Vi, 3Vi) et les soupapes d'échappement (1Ve, 2Ve, 3Ve) de cylindres sélectionnés (1I, 2I, 3I). Les cylindres inactifs sont chauffés par des bougies de préchauffage (1GP, 2GP, 3GP) à une température minimale avant d'être réactivés. Un ordinateur (7) commande le nombre de cylindres opérationnels (1, 2, 3) en fonction de la charge, et fait fonctionner les cylindres de manière alternée afin d'assurer une usure uniforme permettant de réduire les coûts d'entretien.
