Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à des stratifiés renforcés destinés à des plaquettes de circuits imprimés comportant un tissu de renfort fabriqué à partir d'un fil de fibres de verre E recouvertes d'un revêtement compatible avec la matière matricielle polymère. Ledit fil présente une perte en poids lors d'une inflammation pouvant aller de 0,01 % environ à 0,6 % environ et une force résistante s'opposant au transport par jet d'air qui est supérieure à un gramme-force environ par gramme-masse du fil, ladite force étant évaluée au moyen d'une unité tuyère à jet d'air ayant une chambre à jet d'air interne de diamètre égal à 2 millimètres et un tube de sortie de tuyère de longueur égale à 20 centimètres, pour une vitesse d'alimentation du fil d'environ 274 mètres (environ 300 yards) par minute et une pression d'air d'environ 310 kilo-Pascals (environ 45 livres par pouce carré). Ce fil possède une résistance à la flexion dans la direction de trame du tissu qui est supérieure à environ 3 x 10?7¿ kilogrammes par mètre carré (environ 42,7 kpsi). Le revêtement du fil peut contenir du polyester et un polymère sélectionné parmi des polymères de vinylpyrrolidone, des polymères d'alcool vinylique, des amidons et des mélanges de ces composés. Ledit stratifié peut également présenter un coefficient de dilatation thermique dans la direction-z qui est inférieur à 4,5 % environ à une température de 288 ·C.
