Abstract

This is a device when placed on the back of a guitar, bevels the guitar outwards from the bottom, so the player can have a better view of the fretboard when the player is standing. This device is placed on the back of guitars by strips of sticky-back velcro~ a trade-mark of Company Velcro Canada Inc.. The velcro~ is placed on the guitar and bevel cushion by each individual for their own desired positions.

Description

Specification This device relates to guitars or similar instuments when played in the standing position.
When playing the guitar, the player is not always standing, but sitting down comfortably holding the guitar which is usually beveled outwards from the bottom. When playing in this position for a prolonged period of time, the player becomes accustomed to this position and may find it more difficult to play (pick) the guitar or similar instument when the position is changed, such as standing.
A person becomes accustomed to this much better view of the fretboard and finds the instrument easier to play, sometimes even for a very accomplished musician.
When a player is standing the guitar or similar instument is resting flat (parallel) against the player's body. This may cause the player to bend or peer over the fretboard to have a better view during intricate picking of the instrument.
The Guitar Bevel Cushion eliminates this problem, when positioned properly. It is comfortable to use and bevels the guitar outwards from the bottom just enough to have a much better view of the fuetboard to see the frets and finger positions.
This bevel cushion makes playing (picking) the guitar or like instrument:
much easier. It is a very simple device which is light, comfortable to use and easily stored in any guitar case.
This cushion does not harm the finish of the instrument and is well hidden from view when used. This is a device for a player to help improve their playing and needed confidence.
The average size of this device as shown in fig. l is 7" (17.8cm.) long, 4"
(10.2cm.) wide, I-2" (2.5-Scm.) deep. It consists of foam with rounded corners of said measurements, wrapped and sewn in a cloth or similar soft fabric material.
First the sticky-back velcro strips~ measuring approximately 2"
(17.8em.) long , by I" (2.Scm_) wide, would be placed on the guitar or similar instruments and bevel cushion respectively, to the preference point of each individual player as shown in tig;s. l and 3. Therr the cushion is placed on the guitar by means of the velcro strips, as shown in tig.4.
