Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour rompre une émulsion comprenant de l'huile et de l'eau et la transformer en phases d'huile et aqueuse. Ce procédé consiste à traiter l'émulsion avec un agent désémulsionnant chimique et à faire passer le mélange à travers une chambre creuse (22) de section transversale uniforme, et à soumettre ce mélange à une énergie acoustique dans une plage de fréquence comprise entre environ 1,0 et 10,0 kHz, de préférence, 1,25 kHz, pour renforcer la transformation de l'émulsion en phases aqueuse et d'huile. La phase d'huile est ensuite séparée de la phase aqueuse par un processus de séparation par gravité, puis elle est récupérée. L'énergie sonique est générée par un transducteur (64) fixé à la section médiane de la surface extérieure et intérieure de la chambre creuse (22). Pour les émulsions contenant des huiles légères dont la gravité A.P.I. est supérieure à 20 et de l'eau, l'émulsion peut être rompue par une énergie acoustique comprise entre 1,0 et 10,0 kHz sans ajouter d'autres agents désémulsionnants chimiques.
