Abstract
Many plastic straws exist whose function primarily or exclusively is the stirring or sipping of fluids. This invention relates to a plastic straw which may vary in length and diameter, and which is permanently closed at one end. Such a straw can hold edible substance(s) within itself which can be aqueezed out through the open end.

2 ~ 8 1 837 SPECIFICATION
This invention relates to a plastic straw permanently closed at one end to hold edible substance~s~.
The straw varies in lengths of 1/2 inches to 8 inches inclusive and varies in diameters of 3/32 inches to 3/4 inches inclusive.
The straw is permanently closed at one end during its manufacture, either by providing the straw with a bottom or by causing a flattening of the straw toward its base to a complete sealing.
In the drawings which illustrate the embodiments of this invention, FIG#l illustrates a straw with a bottom, while FIG#2 illustrates a straw flattened and sealed at its base. In either case, the illustration furthest from the left margin of the page reflects a view of the straw from its side.
The straw as proposed can hold edible substance(s) in solid or semi-solid form. The edible substance(s~ can be squeezed out of the open end of the straw by pinching the straw at its base or at any other point along the length of the straw with one's fingers and then sliding one's fingers toward the open end of the straw, thereby removing all or a part of the edible Bubstance(s) as desired. The edible substance(s) can also be squeezed out of the open end of the straw-by pinching the straw at any point along its length with one's teeth while holding the straw in one's fingers and then sliding one's teeth toward the open end of the straw, thereby removing all or a part of the edible substance(s) as desired.
The unique purposes this straw serves include freshening one's breath because of the edible substance(s) within the straw which will contain mouth and breath freshening ingredients, cIeaning one's teeth because the straw can be utilized as a toothpick, and assisting one's attempt to stop smoking because the straw generally resembles a cigarette in shape and is placed in one's mouth and held between one's fingers as a cigarette typically is placed and held.

Claims (4)
1. A plastic straw varying in lengths of 1/2 inches to 8 inches inclusive and diameters of 3/32 inches to 3/4 inches inclusive which is permanently closed at one end.
2. A plastic straw as defined in claim 1, where the closure at one end consists of a bottom.
3. A plastic straw as defined in claim 1, where the closure at one end is achieved by a flattening of the straw toward its base to a complete sealing.
4. A plastic straw as defined in claim 1, 2 or 3, having solid or semi-solid edible substance(s) contained therein for the purposes of freshening one's mouth and breath, cleaning one's teeth or assisting one's attempt to stop smoking.
